I voted a 7/10. This may seem a little high to some people, but my standards are significantly lower since I did the Vanguard beta. At least when I get into this game I can manage to play with out CTD every 10 mins, and CPU shutdown every hour due to massive memory leaks (that were still present launch day for VG BTW) Yeah its rough, and there are still patcher issues that can make it take litteraly days to get into the game. But on the other side of that, this dev team is the best I have ever seen for keeping the community informed of the status of the game, and they have been very straight forward with what they expect the game to be like at release. Still missing a few of the promised things, but hey, it is still beta after all. *raises flame shield*
I made it in to the final stages of the Vanguard beta, maybe that is why I am more willing to forgive the small Starvault team for the current state of their project.
I joined World of Warcraft on its opening day too- that game was absolutely unplayable for a little while after launching (am I hitting this wolf, or is it still lagged somewhere near that cave over there... oops, server reset). And that was a relatively simple MMO developed by the top notch team at Blizzard who already had 3 successful franchises under their belt.
I see a lot of "1" votes. I'm not saying the game is in good shape, but c'mon a "1"? Are that many people having trouble launching the game? (I ask because I've been lucky, it's worked for me.)
Its hard for me to really rate this game because I have not been able to play for more then 10 minutes without it crashing. They definatley have ALOT of work to do before this game is even playable, it should not be in open beta yet.

The simple fact that you state "I've been lucky, it's worked for me" means that you know it hasn't worked for lot's of people.. thus the 1 votes. if the game won't download.. or patch.. or load without crashing.. I would rate it a 1...
At the time of the vote I was able to stay in for maybe 5 minutes before Nowgame.exe crashes.. so I voted it a 2...

From the press releases they are releasing in 4 days... but there will be an update in 2 days to update us if that true or not...
2/10 from me, the game is a total mess, pVp is robotic and clunky, removing all the content and saying the dsyinc is fixed made me laugh as pigs still fly and people are still floating around not walking, valley floor graphics are still terrible with gaps leading into oblivion. I will mess around on my free 30 days but don't expect to be playing beyond that, lets hope for a miracle

I love when people mention of how WoW was horrible at launch. Yes WoW was laggy as hell, yes server reseted alot, but they had the best excuse in the world and that is how successful the game was from the start. There was not a game that had as much player on at the same time as WoW did when it launched, so it was kind of hard for them to know how bad things would get. MO problems are not related to having too much players on at the same time or the same zone, the game is badly done, had great ideas that i really liked but once i tried the game i was dissapointed by everything i saw. And i actually preordered MO what a waste of money that was.

Miracle patch #321 will fix it for sure this time!! Keep the faith!

I voted a 1. How can it not be a 1? If this was alpha, then fine I'd be more lenient. Its about to release, though. There is nothing to this game. Its in about as good as shape as D&L was in, and that was also a colossal failure. The only people not seeing this are the typcial fanbois who apparently have nothing better to do, but defend a doomed game. Much like the D&L fanbois were.
Now, I could understand people voting 6 and less. I've been through a lot, though. Mourning, D&L, various other jokes that I won't mention due to a few rabid diehards that still play the MMOs that are on life support. Its going to take more than a pixel swinging an axe at another pixel to impress me, which is basically all this game has.

You mean when WoW launched with 80 something servers and only about 10-20 of them were actually filled? That WoW? Because I rememeber at launch I was in a server where there was actually 20-40 players between 20-60. You know what happened? They got too concerned about the numbers then they did about keeping it well maintained.
Out of those 80 orignial servers there is most likely 30 of them still alive, others merged with other servers. Then again you seem to completely know everything about everything am I right?
I give this game a 8/10 just due to the fact that these creators are trying to go back to old styled MMO's (Sand Boxes) which is a great thing we need MORE of these instead of all this cookie cutter bullshit these companies are throwing at us now.
I would bet my left nut that when SW:ToR comes out it will have a terrible launch take multiple hours to fix the servers, then when you DO get in you will see 99.99998% of the population as jedi's/sith's screaming *Zomgz i rz cutz yuw ramz uff LIGHTSABER WEWW!* Then you will see the 00.00001 pick bounty hunters, then you will see the other 00.00001 pick something else, all leading to them going "Wow I really picked a stupid ass game it is just like every other game I've played except the story is a bit better, I wish I could customize myself"
The game its self has had MAJOR improvements since closed beta which you weren't apart of most likely. It will most likely fail if we continue to have little cookie cutter WoW defending douchebags putting this game down because it is too hard for these idiots.
Good luck SV don't let these jackasses get to you, continue your game.
Anyone voting more then 3 is clearly joking with us...or...are there suposed inteligent humans voting above 3 just because they really think the beta is going pretty good??

darkfall is like the best mmo available on the market. MO shouldn't be that bad, just gonna wait a while after release until purchase

You voted 1, ok that's your choice.
Why do you think the game deserves a one? What makes you say there is nothing to the game?
I can name plenty of things;
Good customisation with the blood mixing system that affects your max stats when in-game.
A good skill system which doesn't allow people to be good at everything but at the same time allows them the ability to redistribute points in a relatively short amount of time to fit a players changing play style.
First person view combined with aimed combat
Full loot, open PvP with guarded areas for crafting and relaxing
A well developed crafting system where crafters really do matter to the games economy (because it takes up plenty of skill points), crafters have a wide range of materials they have to extract and find recipies for and each material has a differnt effect on how the overall outcome turns out.
Player built houses, Clan keeps, shop attachments, and player built crafting appliances (all will be in short-term) will create competition between clans for larger building spaces. A player created city will create a place for PvP and for Clan members to meet up and do stuff. The player run shops go towards the player run economy and when the siege weapons are introduced large scale warfare will ensue for areas of better resources, bigger spaces, clan keep viable areas.
Areas to discover such as the several caves, the jungle, small islands
Good PvE mobs that take co-ordination between a few players to take down and then lower range mobs for those getting into the game which creates a sense of community because people have to work together.
A short grinding curve to reach a maxed or PvP viable characters 6 months down the line after release, which is encouraging for new players to stay.
I'm not going to sit here and say the game doesn't have its problems because it does but those problems are fixable.
Comments
my experience so far - it plays like a frustrating low wage job
you gotta do it but you certainly don't enjoy it
Very good analogy
What did you vote?
Should break 800 by release
I win!!! LOL@U
Hope so.
worst game ive ever beta tested for.
it ranks up there alongside Vanguard: Saga of Zeros!
and I didnt think any game would beta worse than VG did

and that reflects the poll
I gave it a 8 out of 10 based on the potential and the awesome developers

Going to bump this up as the open beta is over... seems the majority of the gamers on mmorpg give this game a 4/10 or lower

In what way do the development team not know what they are doing? Please remember to explain blunt statements such as this in the future.
I've been following MO and I'm impressed with the amount of progress they've made with the game.
