There is another explanation for the 10s. For some people, all that is needed to make the perfect game is a combination of exploits and full loot. With that as the criteria, MO is at least an 11/10.
10 is a game people want full loot and exploits? Reminds me of using my gameshark back in the N64 days

Well, those players need a game just for them too :P

So I was thinking about buying it for beta. Should I hold off? Do you see it getting better? Finally, how does this game compare to Darkfall (as it is currently)?

Jon
You dont have to buy it to get into the OPEN BETA. Please DO NOT SPEND any money on MO until you've tried the OB. DFO was 10X the game at release.
I know the MO beta link sends you to the 4 steps, just skip step 2!!!
1 point coz it’s a MMO in the sense I see many people online at the same time
+
1 point for the good concept of the MMO
- 8 points go for what has been offered to us under the name of Open BetaIt is so sad to see one more good MMO idea down the drain.
If we are to take just the game concept in the game then I love it . I am enjoying the beta atleast the concept of starting out from scratch and finding things for yourself .But that’s that it’s a concept
I don’t know how this game is even called as Free for ALL Open Beta . Its is way way far from alpha stages.
1) The bugs and glitches are mind bogling.
2) Graphics are worse than b grade horror movies.
3) Lagging all the time
4) Server Client Desynch
I don’t get it why people would want even to buy the game with what has been shown so far.
I am not bashing the game like I said I like the concept of the game and enjoyng the beta experience so far but to buy this game and pay monthly subscriptions is absurd
I think its the MMO community is a t fault
We are so used to taking crap that MMO companies are now giving us crap on a silver platter.
I understand thaat new developers need to be helped .But then there are other ways to raise fund. Why cant they make ita public company and ask MMO community to invest in company shares .Float capital to raise money why to sell and untested and unfinished game.
Last few years have been really pathetic for MMO community.

Because people will still support a game that has potential even though it has been failure for 8 months now.
Am I the only that really doubt the results of this poll?
Probably...
If you would like a correlating source... there is a poll on the MO Forums that show that less than 50% of the people on the games own forums plan to purchase the game. That poll has about 300 votes at this time. If only 45% of the players on the games own forums plan to purchase the game.. it certainly seems to support the numbers seens on this forum, since most folks who try it and hate it won't be visiting those forums again and MO's forums certainly have a higher percentage of hardcore fans.
Don't worry though, the games release is very close.. at most another 2 weeks. Once it launches you won't need polls. You will just see who is in game... and who remains after the 1st free month. If they keep their 13,000 subs then MO will probbaly survive. If there are less... then it won't. At least according to info from the developers.

Of course, they leave out the very important phrase "in it's current state"
Thats the poll... but as THIS poll (the one we are posting in) is titled "How would you rate the open beta thus far?", wouldn't that correlate well with a poll that says "in it's current state"?
Either way though... launch is nearly upon us and all polls can be put aside as we watch to see if SV is able to stay above water or sink.

Not to be a troll, but to be realistic. I do not see this game surviving on their fans alone. There are so many problems that have been there for months, most people who have lives have given up on the game already. People can preorder hoping the game gets better, but from my experience over the last 8 months, the game is going to launch in an unfinished state and the retention rate of the game after a few weeks will be abysmal. No one is going to subscribe to the 2nd month unless they are an extreme fan of the game, 90% of the people that bought the game are not.
Will the game survive? Who knows. 50/50 chance right now, Starvault is out of money and they have to release a broken and unfinished game, no one can deny that.

So you know how much money it costs them to runt he game?
You know what are they paychecks and other company expenses per month?
You know how much money they have left?
A game like Mortal with handfull of devs behind it and with private funding (they dont have to pay loans and stuff) can survive with as little as 10k ppl. And I am sure the initial palyerbase will be much higher. After all we are not in the 90s when online gamers where few chosen ones who could afford high speed internet and ubber rigs. Last report was speaking about 85k beta players. So if even 10% of these guys stay as you say (lol) it will be enough.
And its not like the game will release and they will stop working on it. During the first month after release we are supposed to get dynamic weather system, more monsters, more stuff to build, more features. Or maybe acording to you once the gamelaunches no more ppl can join it? lol...just lol
I rated it 2, since some of the fundamental mechanics are fuctional like moving around, but i'd still say its in early alpha state and nowhere near even closed beta. They still got atleast a YEAR of development ahead of them to even reach their first beta state.

Best mmo I have ever played
over 700 votes and only 270 replies (most of which are the same person replying several times)
Am I the only that really doubt the results of this poll?
What % of those votes are real players that played the game?
What % of those votes are haters or DFO fans?
What % of those votes are just some ppl passing by and clicking the vote button?
What % of those votes are the same person with several dozens of accounts and proxies?
Probably...

I consider myself a fan of the game and visit the forums daily.
However I cant recall such thread. Can you link it? So I can vote
I'm pretty sure they are referring to this poll.

Yeah, indeed, as there will be at least two bug fixing patchesh before release.
You can burn me, but i wont die.
Sure...
It's right on top of the main forum:

As I said though.. we are pretty much at the point where polls are meaningless. It's time for SV to sink or swim.

I wouldn't count that so many players will stay. Most of them have already run away seing what crap this "game" is.

After trying everything I still get the nowgame.exe error. I give up now and wait it out..
