Talwin (MO mod) says that it is not Starvault's fault that people are reporting broken or smashed boxes. Says the shipping company is to blame, even though most people are reporting this problem.

The LE boxes have started shipping, here is the first released picture of it. Many of the people on the MO forums are disappointed as the art book has about 80% of its pages blank (guess so you can draw your own pictures) and the figurines are bland with no color. The CD case is the same exact one from the normal boxes.
Worth ~$118 US?

ive kept myself neutral to this game until now. ive read alot of the threads about the company behind this and MO itself and i doesnt look like its anything good about this at all. is this just way overpriced unfinished shit or what?

From my own pocket. Really, ~ $120 is like what? Eating out with a good beer/wine aside lol. Well, for me it was worth it, and I am no millionaire. But I spend more money than that when going out having fun with my pals. So yeah, for me it was worth it. If you can't afford it, don't buy it?
I am willing to say less as this is only the box and not the actual game. If it came with a game code and access to the game, I would say $50.
$30 more and you could have gotten night vision goggles!
I'm sure Mortal Online thanks you all for paying for their game twice for $4 worth of extras.
Most collector's edition come with expensive items such as an actual helmet from the game, mug, map, artbook, soundtrack, in game items, CD/DVD editions of the game, action figures, etc... Which pretty much covers the extra amount you play, minus processing and maybe a few dollars profit.
Here we have probably $4 worth of processing via printing a quarter of a book and adding some cheap figurine -- oh, and a piece of cloth by the looks of it.
I don't know too much about what comes with it besides this picture, but if this is it then... Sucks to be those who bought it.
Hopefully you enjoy the game play and think of paying twice for the game as simply supporting your game in hopes that it won't be a flop. Those double profits ought to be good for something in the long run with a company.
I have never purchased a collectors edition for any game. I just want to play the game.
the collectors box for Warhammer was awsome tho. got mousepad, hardcover artbook at 250 pages or so, a comic book at 140 i guess, a miniature which cannot be bought at games workshop (but on ebay) a nice big box in typical Warhammer style and some other stuff. and ofc the game. it was worth the money and it costed like 75$ new straight from the retailer
This is going to end up as fodder on Comedy Central one day.
Its a shame they didn't have the capital to carry out their vision, they're shipping the bare minimum just to keep lurching along.

That's what I was about to say. So not all Collector's Editions suck, and not all "bad" games have crappy ones.

I would like you to get all that for $4. Figs drom Reapor Minatures, that book and so on. Remember, if this was made in orders of 250k you would obviously have another picture of the price. But it is done in 999 copies. I wonder wich company are making that small amount of figurines/books cheap. Again, they did this because the audience wanted it. And still, if you can't afford it, then just dont buy it f*s...

No, but I mean that you will obviously get all the "fluff" much cheaper if you order 250k products than if you order 999 or them! So, all I was trying to say was that it is "worth" more than $4
And since they did the boxes and LE's because the forums/audience wanted it, I guess they have to charge more for them. Also, the cost for shipping it world wide is in that price. like $6-8(?) just for that.
Concidering the fact, I will still say it was worth it (for me that is)!
Doesn't saying "artbook is 80% blank" give the wrong impression? According to the description of the product it's a notebook with 24 illustractions (or something like that). So if it has 24 illustrations and a lot of space to make notes it's alright, or not?
Wether it's worth the money or not is another discussion again, I personally never purchased any special or limited editions.

be more of a fanboy show me anything that SV has done right so far, show me anything in MO that is complete and not buggy/placeholder please? The game is weeks from release and everyone knows it's going to fail. SV are way too inexperienced in programming to save the game.

I am not more of a fanboy than I like the game, and I am really looking forward to it even more when they have had the time to polish it a bit. The funniest thing is that I recognize all this threads and hate regarding anothe similar game some time ago. It was doomed as well, but it seems it is pretty ok theese days (atleast regarding to some).
Why not keep it informative/constructive instead of just beeing a hater with no context in your posts?
Referring to DF? I've played DF since launch and still play. Did it have a bad launch? Yes. Did it at least have content? Yes. Is it picking up? Yes.
MO is in a 1000x worse of a situation right now than DF was in and honestly I don't think they can pull out of it, would be cool if they did. Their concept is good and would be good for sandbox MMO's, but from what I've seen since block A it will take years for it to get polished.

70 page notebook, 24 concept art pages. they didn't say what was on the other pages, but if they're blank, its still a Journal. Its up to YOU to fill the pages, instead of someone else filling it for you
Another word for journal is diary.
But that is pretty shoddy. 46 blank pages and some concept art, plus the other fluff so they could squeeze a little more money out of their overhyped vaporware. I wonder if they stopped making these at 999 copies, or if they ran multiple batches of 999 copies
