Well they had a printing of 10,000 boxes. 1 was a special item put on EBay as a charity donation. 999 were the lootbags which they sold.  9000 remaining are boxed copies.. of which they still have an undetermined amount left.

Are they going to rebox and mail you a working copy by release?

Or are you happy with your CD with a non-working client on it?

Lol, relly good post mate! Troll more?

be more of a fanboy show me anything that SV has done right so far, show me anything in MO that is complete and not buggy/placeholder please? The game is weeks from release and everyone knows it's going to fail. SV are way too inexperienced in programming to save the game.

Good you cleared that out for me!

I am not more of a fanboy than I like the game, and I am really looking forward to it even more when they have had the time to polish it a bit. The funniest thing is that I recognize all this threads and hate regarding anothe similar game some time ago. It was doomed as well, but it seems it is pretty ok theese days (atleast regarding to some).

Why not keep it informative/constructive instead of just beeing a hater with no context in your posts?

Referring to DF? I've played DF since launch and still play. Did it have a bad launch? Yes. Did it at least have content? Yes. Is it picking up? Yes.

MO is in a 1000x worse of a situation right now than DF was in and honestly I don't think they can pull out of it, would be cool if they did. Their concept is good and would be good for sandbox MMO's, but from what I've seen since block A  it will take years for it to get polished.

Yes, I was referring to DF. But not game vs game. I was referring to all the haters, all the trolling, all "AV will fail", DF is sh*it, and so on. What I meant was that DF obviously made it, and are getting better and better. So I was no comparinf the game, nor the quality or the launch. Just that I recognize all the threads now regarding MO, and the threads were all the same for DF before. Thats all!

You know what the biggest difference was?   Darkfall was a secret... so people could honestly argue about waiting for launch to find the truth.  Mortal Online is in Open Beta so everyone can login and make informed statements about the state of the "game".  People who don't like MO don't have to make anything up.   They simply tell prospective players to download (or try to) the Open Beta and have a look....

It's funny.. because usually it's people that support a game who urge people to try it.  Here is it people who don't like the game, while the supporters urge people to hold off for 6 months...

But all will be well in a week.  On the 22nd we shall finally have the last large patch before release and get to see exactly what the launch product will be!  Have faith!

I was in DF Beta and honestly it was really bad- After following and dreaming about that game for YEARS (I think my forum acct is 05 or 06) I was totally disapointed- I nerdraged and QQed over cut features  and it was probably the biggest dissapointment I have ever had in gaming.

I was in MO Beta (the open beta- last week) and it was so extremly bad that it made the darkfall beta look like the a Blizzard game 3 months after release- Seriously, t'was unplayable even after the DAYS it took doing 33 fixes on the Patcher.- I was not disapointed, because I will never get myself hyped up on a game again.

Now I am waiting to try Craft of Gods this week which hopefully will be at least playable... If not I have decided to go back to DF, admit I was a bitch for /ragequitting and try to catch up lol.

SV ia really doing a very poor job here on a million levels and if they Launch in the next 3 months it will be a disaster that has potential to go down in gaming history.

118 for that? And the boxes are the same boxes as the regular ones with a sticker on them (to prove its "limited edition")- WOW.... Thee Bag would make a cool dice bag or stash bag though.... It actually looks cool- Just not 118 dollars cool.

Yeah, if I wanted those night vision goggles I would have bougnt that LE as well ;o)

999 copies and people paid $50 more for them?  That is no excuse for this.

Of course there was an excuse...

Someone was buying, and someone was selling.

If you need more of a reason than that... well that's because YOU need more of a reason than that.

Every year I purchase this... and sometimes there are repeats of the pictures from last edition... or the product is bent/worn when I get it.

But my money still goes to them... and I make an effort to keep up-to-date on the site every-year.

    Because I choose to.

    *sigh*

Star Vault just continues to shoot themselves in the foot.

One would think that with the disastrous state of the open beta they would make sure all their T's were crossed and I's dotted going forward but they continue to make one mis-step after another.

I have never purchased a collectors edition for any game.  I just want to play the game.

I was wondering why nobody replied to this yet. If you just wanted to play the game, then you could've just gotten the regular edition MO box. Because paying $68 more doesnt enhance the xperience of the game, just creates an empty space in your wallet.

    The TWO of you,

Your sarcasm is making holes in my monitor.

Miracle patches are things of legend, and rarely seen in an MMO. Miracle content patch is an oxymoron.

The patch on the 22nd, and the one that was delayed tomorrow even... seem to be content patches. Introduction of content is an introduction of more bugs... which is nothing even close to a miracle.

Referring to them as "miracle patches" is just outright wrong based on the definition of a content patch. I know sarcasm isn't meant to use common sense, but you are not even describing the upcoming patches correctly.

We will have a small patch on Monday 15th of February, containing a combat overhaul which will improve the overall feeling and flow of the combat. This includes updated hit boxes, real weapon arcs (to hit your target more accurately not relying on where your “crosshair” is but where the actual blade is), some bug fixes and some small features. We are looking forward to hearing your response on these important changes. <--- Might be a miracle path, but it does say overhaul which == bugs for more testing.

On 22th of February we will release a huge content patch including even more combat changes, changes to the magic system, new weapons, obviously new content as in new areas, pickables/resources, npcs and mobs, new player buildings and some other stuff you may find very interesting. <-- Huge content which will require LOADS of more testing... and likely introduce MANY new bugs. Nothing even close to a "miracle"

So... call them content patches, and save the "miracle patch" reference for one that is completely "fixes". At least then it will be more accurate when you try to make fun of it.

I knew that 120$ is way too much for collector's edition, but items inside the box, which costs 70$ were a complete ripoff.
Promos, where prices were lowered by 5€ were good enough to buy a DD version.
Buying a boxed version of a mmo game makes no sense for me.

For differences in price between DD and a box, I'd search, and buy a wooden shield and a simple sword, put a runic inscription on it, and tell guildmates I've got better collector's items than they could ever get :)

Anyway, MO is a bit costly, but DFo's DD wasn't cheaper.
Didn't even offer any promo prices before it went gold.

MO is still cheaper (and has always been) if you compare the digital version. Now they even have a € 5 discount, so now they are even more cheaper! =)

I do not know the price for DF in stores, so cannot compare that one ^^

    $118?

Was only $98 USD if you ordered from the usa. Blame your country for having a VAT. Also blame sweden for having a 25% VAT. If you live anywhere else, blame your country for having a poor exchange rate.

The LE box was only $98 here, which includes international shipping.

Also you knew what you were getting before you paid a dime. A journal with 24 pages of art, the box, 1 figurines, a loot bag and metal box. You know just as well as I do that they are shipping another DVD with the pre-release client+updates when they have an actual date set.

Yes, blame the customer is the only thing I hear anymore.  Company could have sold it outside of their territory to evade the super high taxes.

I'm not sure that it bothered me what I got in my Collector's edition... I'm not even sure I gave much thought to what might be in the bag.

Sure, that probably makes me sound wasteful... and that I throw around money without much consideration or concern as to what i'm getting back for it.

But... I've got quite a bit of it and all my accounts are balanced well.

When the boxes were announced I looked at what was offered, and decided I want a CE. I do remember thinking that it wasn't worthwhile to get a Standard Box, so I might as well go for the CE.

I do see that people seem to be dissappointed in their boxed version, and that really all that was purchased was the metal case.

That's the same thought I hade BEFORE I ordered...

It's why I chose the CE because I wanted something more than just a metal case.

I guess I just don't understand... I knew what I was ordering before I ordered it... and I know what I would get with the order I placed (for either the CE or Standard Box)... I also saw and knew the price.

    Where is the mixup?

That's what I was about to say. So not all Collector's Editions suck, and not all "bad" games have crappy ones.

I picked up the WAR collector's box at Half Priced Books for $20 and it was definitely worth every penny. The art book alone was worth more than that. It is excellent, 225 pages of full color fantasy art goodness. The graphic novel is hardbound as well, and  pretty nice as well. The lead figure I could care less about. I don't mind paying for if they include a nice artbook like that. I am just not in to the action figures and cloth maps, they just collect dust.

Except that with DF you couldn't buy the game unless you were lucky and had time to be on the website at a specific time and purchase one of the limited copies. Except that Darkfall was released when you could buy the game (remember MO is still in testing) and was exploit city. With the lack of a skillcap, there are characters right now who got a significant headstart by exploiting and are still reaping the benefits.

Honestly; things like this is why I don't buy "Collector's editions" There's just nothing worth "Collecting" from a MMORPG. The last thing I need is to be reminded of is that I spent $120 on a game and then an additional $15 a month paying for it when I'm too old and decrepit to wipe my own rear end =P
