In what way does it apply?  Are you arguing that the the Q1 estimate is not outdated, or that announcing a revised estimate yet is tantamount to lying?  Honestly, I'm not clear on how your post applies to my response.

On looking through their forums, I found this post that may better illuminate plans re: the timing of release....

Mats Perrson:     No. Tindrem won't be released until we have it right. At least I would like it to have a validated AI for NPC's, a rudimentary message/chat/info system for NPC's, a vendor-order system, a NPC guild system and better vendor GUI (for different shops).

I'm just as anxious to see Tindrem as you are, but at the moment it would just be a huge, desolated place with stupid vendors staring into walls. A lot of visual content, yes, but not remotely connected to the lore when it comes to content.

The addition of Tindrem is a milestone in beta that will indicate that they have the afore-mentioned systems working to their satisfaction and are approaching release.  If Tindrem is not in, then there are at least a few weeks left of beta.  Reviewing the patch notes since Mats made that post, Tindrem is not in yet.

It's actually pretty pathetic on the part of SV to have a game in open beta, and their capital city isn't done yet.

Imagine Dark age of Camelot going to open beta without having "Camelot" in. It's rather sad, and increasingly so on a regular basis.

I downloaded the Beta the other night  my first encounter was with a flying wolf. He just floated around face level and attacked me lol. Reminds me of WWIIOL's first days of flying tanks.

Pretty sure they have said that Tindrem will not make release...

But if they KNOW they are going to miss Q1 as you seem to think.. why not just update the website to say Q2?  No.. until they make an announcement I will take them at their word that they still plan a Q1 release.

Another reason why I think they do not have a strategy or a plan, their management team should be fired so they can hire people that know what they are doing.

PS - I am not even sure if they have a management team from the way they have developed the game so far...

With a company this size, the management team is the development team.  If they had a seperate management team, exactly whay could they do aside from hiring different developers, artists etc.

Don't suppose you could find a source for that assertion about Tindrem.

Exactly 3 weeks left of Q1.  If they haven't announced a specific date, it's unlikely to happen in 3 weeks.  We'll know soon enough.  SV will release when they think the core features are ready.

I really hope they won't release Q1. They might just be optimistic but they must know that releasing a buggy unfinished mess will cost them a lot.

That they have an open beta with the same is really no problem, a beta is a beta no matter if you have it closed or open, it is not a game that is released yet. If they prefer to have as many beta players as possible then that is fine with me. But releasing anything right now wouldn't  be bright at all.

As their communication is haphazard and most is buried as a random reply on a random thread I am not going searching.  Feel free to though.   As I said.. if it's so obvious they won't release they should be honest to potential customers and adjust to Q2 projected release.

Ah, in their defense, the "capital" city is there.. morin khur or whatever it was called.

In everyone else's defense, this game will crash and burn so it doesn't really matter what's in it.

let them hate, because it give people a reason to wonder why its hated so much and most of the hate has no backing behind it and well if it puts mortal online in the spotlight then they are doing a good thing.

sooner or later people will see the anti mortal online people and well they will just laugh at their attempts at trollng and flaming and bashing the game because in the end, they are just upset with it and well if htey bash it this much, the game must have left such a great effect on them to do it.

mortal online is wicked and some people are scared of that fact.

Scared of what?  How are people scared when they are using legitimate facts to criticize while the fans blindly support?  image
