"I blew $300 bucks on STO and all I got was this lousy blue name on the forum."
I would bet Cryptic might even disable it as a feature based on what I am seeing in that thread... It doesn't look good to see that the most avid defenders are the 'lifers' who can't get out even if they wanted to.
That gave me a chuckle. Boy would I be upset with my judgement had I spent $300 on that game; my my my goodness.
Striving for Silver Stars since Gold is so effeminate.
Would it be that hard to verify if the game has active subs or not? Couldn't you just view the list of active "instanced" zones and population and get a general idea of how many are on?

If you were able to view all instanced zones at once yes. But the blues would still insist that you missed one, and that 99% of the games population was in that one area you missed.

yeah you can look at the list but when people started doing this the defenders claimed that you can't see full instances on the list. Im not sure that's true because at launch I remember seeing large numbers of instances maxed out at 50 or so and you were not allowed to join them because they were full. Now I see 8-10 instances in earth space with 15-25 people in them. Defenders would argue that Im not seeing the full instances. Even in the instances Ive been in lately Im not sure that the number reported on the list is accurate. I was in sol station last night in an instance that supposedly had 40+ people in it but I could only find about 15. That was even looking in the seperate zones and I never found a group of 20+ people just standing around.
The forums are interesting now, theres about 75% lts subs on there and that doesn't include the ones who don't change their color. It seems they've gotten their wish and the "haters" are gone and now the response is "where is everybody?" It seems STO did not magically turn into the paradise they thought it would once they left.
