sounds like it may just be wow with alot of extra grinding, if ya know what I mean heh
How does it sounds like that? The first GW is by far the MMO (or CORPG) with least grinding. Wow on the other hand has a lot, from faction grinding to daily quest grinding. Wow certanly don't have the most grinding (L2 has) but it is still a lot.
GW2 will be very different from Wow. That doesn't mean that you will like it, many MMO fans wont because it is a very different game.
I am more hyped for GW2 than TOR, and the main reason is actually the combat system. The dynamic world idea is nice but some new and more interesting combat is really what this genre needs. TOR seems less interesting there. I am keeping my eyes on TERAs combat system too and waiting to hear about WoDOs.
Story wise are the games both interesting, GW2 is written by Jeff Grubb (made Forgotten realms books before, like Curse of the azure bonds) and Bioware are good at stories too.
i dont even know where youre coming from with this comment. it's doubtful youve seen/read anything pertaining to GW2. it's the most revolutionary MMO since WoW.
The fact that you think GW2 is revolutionary, especially "since WoW" (meaning you also thought WoW was revolutionary) really speaks volumes on your stance.
Unfortunately for you, this post does that for you as well.
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.

Yes, well, I am planning on buying gw2. Not a big fan of ncsoft, and I am not even sure if I can play an NCsoft game now since my aion account was banned. Although, i think that is seperate. Not sure, at any rate, I think from what I seen so far it looks good. I am planning to play both games.
Which everone comes out first cause I'm ready for the next big thing. But I can tell ya I'm having a blast playing Atlantica right now... It's amazing and I am liking it more and more the more I play! Didn't know a game like this existed...way different! Complex. challenging inovative gameplay and it's free!
wow... the two games that i don't care about at all.... if you had added FFXIVMCIVCIXOMG to the pool you would have actually gotten my holy trinity of "i don't give a rat's butt" ^^
from a pure "success" point.... hmm probably TOR i guess... the Star Wars Geeks are always looking for something to rub their midichlorians on :P
my most anticipated would be: Earthrise, Black Prophecy, Rift and Planetside Next.... if it ever comes out.... but yeah... doesn't matter because I'm gonna get drowned out by the constant drone which is the SW and GW fanboi-vuvuzela-concert...

Since I don't consider GW2 a MMO, I don't see the contest.
Why not? How come you don't see it as an MMO? If it isn't an mmo than no games are.
Well... it was stated on the guild wars faq page that the first Guild wars was not an MMO. Im not sure if the same has been said for Guild Wars 2 though.

Doh... I cant believe I hadnt looked at that yet. Guess I was just lazy. But it does indeed say on the Guild Wars 2 faq that it will be an MMO. So with that said... Im more hyped for SWTOR.
SWTOR all the way. I never did even remotely think about playing GW1, so I haven't read or looked at anything on GW2 yet, and I can't imagine I will seeing as I never got into the first one.
I'm much more hyped for GW2. I've tried to get interested in ToR but no matter what they show, it just gets me bored. The combat looks like more of the same from every other game, allbeit with some cool abilities. Still, the typical dps/tank/healer mentality has made its way into ToR and I'm so sick of that playstyle. GW2 changes things up a bit and looks amazing. I also prefer its art style.

HAH, awesome! We all got some three-way action there

It does, in fact, but not in any unfortunate way. Unlike some, I have no misconceptions on what is "revolutionary" as far as features, in this case, neither game has any feature that hasn't been done before. I hoped that point was transparent enough to circumvent the need for your post, but it appears I was wrong.
I don't think half of you realise just how big SWTOR is going to be..
One of the 4 pillars Bioware talks about called the exploration pillars, and if you watch closely in the backgroud of all the SWTOR vids you will see, the lands are FRIKKIN HUGE.

TOR has +1 bias because my clan is Star Wars themed, and we plan on making an appearance. Otherwise, I'm interested in both equally.
Besides, it's not like I'll have to pay for 2 subs.
I'm not here to complete my forum PVP dailies.
The beauty of it is i can play both.
Get my fantasy fix while playing a sci-fi.
I'll have to change the way i play though because i usually go balls deep into 1 MMO at a time.
Unfortunately for you, this post does that for you as well.

TOR will have more subs. GW2 will be the superior game. Both will be great. I'll play both and decied later.
Well, that's obvious. GW2 isn't going to have a subscription fee.

I noticed this post myself. You said what I was thinking, and I sorry but I must say , I did LoL at this one.

Defintely waiting more for SWTOR. Its the bigger IP and will do more retail in the west. GW2 still looks very good, and will crush in the east.

Yeah it's pretty hillarious. Replace subs with sales and fuck off.

I'm much more hyped for GW2. They seem to be bringing alot of new stuff to the MMO genre.

This is going to be 1 big MMO. you wait an see..

Will buy both but looking forward to GW2 lots more.
My 2 cents
The following statement is false
The previous statement is true
WoW: Cataclysm
Guild Wars 2, because I don't believe current technology can do a star wars MMO the justice it deserves.
