Pretty much laughed all the way through except I didn't agree with the fact that Reaper miniatures are crappy as they are one of the highest quality miniatures in the industry. Now obviously getting them with a smashed package and bent up does suck, but that isn't Reapers fault. I believe the same thing happened with Warhammer online when people didn't understand what the figure was.

Nah, I understood it with my Warhammer figures...these really look and feel subpar.
Also, to the guy talking about Guild Wars collector's edition, I don't have that one but I still have my SW:G collector's edition, it was fairly badass as well, however my Bioshock 2 CE with vinyl soundtrack takes the cake!

Doh, the artbook is really incredible. Really incredible.
Don't understand what's wrong with the figures tho.
I gotta admit, this one almost beats the worst collector's box I got so far - Lotro, which failed to give cloth map (was a paper one instead - and only showed angmar), no promised miniature, no promised keyring, no promised soundtrack CD, no promised artbook, but at least it had a solid manual book to gave a short description to everything.

Did either of those have color?
The Warhammer figures, I don't think so, I'll have to take a look.
Can't get a better picture at the moment, wife has the camera, so I'm stuck with the phone. The Warhammer figures are much heavier and look better. I've also got a SW:G pewter trooper and EQ2 pewter mount around here somewhere.
To all those who think the figures are bad. Maybe you just don't know pewter figures. They always come with parts detached for a reason, to prevent them from breaking upon shipping. Also these figures are actually good quality pewter figures. The book however is a different story. Just want to clear it up because it seems a lot of people are basing an opinion off of being misinformed.
hopefully people will learn a lesson from this and stop giving unproven companies large sums of money for unfinished products. But the sad fact is they wont learn a thing and will keep shoveling their money to scam artists and raging on youtube.

See my above post, I know about pewter, the Warhammer ones are nice and yes, they have parts for assembly, the Mortal figures are actually broken, unless they snapped them off for me to put them back on.

Nope, I'll keep shoveling money because it's worth it to me to try to help a small company make something good. Sometimes you get crap but one of these days it'll pay off.
For some who likes to paint miniatures, those figures are worth $10-$20 (the decent level of detail is the key). But this requires some experience and a good paint set, so for most gamers the figurines are quite crappy.
It was the size of his thumb and one of them had a broken hand.
I'm just saying that from a figure modeling point of view the figures aren't totally crappy and worthless. The model being the size of a thumb is normal, and the more seperate pieces the metal model is in, the better it is (since the metal will bond perfectly with superglue, and this way the pose can be customized). The hand may not have been broken, it is likely that not all models are the same, and some are one-piece while others have a few pieces like separate arms or hands (or they may be broken, which would be pathetic but still trivial to fix for a modeler).
Here is a $20 model from games workshop, it comes as a single piece of unpainted metal 1.1 inches high:
The mortal figure has lower production and artistic quality, and the figurines don't come close to justifying the cost of the loot bag, but I guess I am saying that at least someone who already models figurines would probably consider those mortal figures to be worth $10, and if they are a fan of MO as well then I could see them being worth $20 at most. But to sell these to people without modeling paints etc makes no sense. Maybe the SV employees should show everyone how good a job they did with their own figurines? The non-modeling players, a large majority, can either waste money on paints and brushes and make a terrible mess, or the figurines will sit unpainted forever, totally crappy.

I have seen the figures and they are nice. The ones he shows are not broken in the video. He compares them to WoW figures which are indeed nice, but they are painted already and plastic. Almost 90% of all figures that have weapons have the arms removed. Also the figures are made from reaper. Honestly anyone who messes with pewter figures knows reaper and they produce very quality items.
Who the hell cares about the random figurines they sell you for that amount of cash!? I mean all you get is a small bag, crappy poster, 2 figurines and 1 dvd with a broken client for a broken game... If thats not a scam the i don't know what is.
The quality of those figurines does not matter AT ALL.

if i wanted to paint figurines id have stayed in kindergarten is also why i never got into warhammer spend a fortune to take hours painting hell spend more time painting then actually takes to play a game

Seriously, Lotro collector was a bigger scam. Yes it was a bit cheaper (around 60 british pounds - 80-90$)
It was promised to contain cloth map, metal figure, soundtrack CD, and artbook. It didnt have artbook, it had paper map instead of cloth map, no figure and no soundtrack CD. Not sure if there was the same problem in US, but European was all messed up.

Lmao... Good one... I would not want to do that either, not sure why anyone would spend hour painting them...

Of course it does, the videos main staple besides the book is that the figures are crappy. So that makes his video incorrect which in turn messes up the whole thing imo. He needs to remake it without the figures or something. Because anyone who knows a little bit about pewter figures will watch that review and laugh at him for how naive he is.

The figurines do nothing to redeem the low value of the loot bag, I agree. My point is just that the figurines are not crappy as modeling figurines, crappy figurines are made of soft plastic with low detail. But with regard to the broader loot bag situation, if it were me I would say that the thing never arrived and try my best to get a refund.

Games workshop also made the warhammer online figures I believe as they make the warhammer tabletop miniatures. The MO miniatures being made by Reaper would cost 4 or 5 dollars per in the store, and the Warhammer one would be a 20-30 dollar figure (that is also games workshop pricing though).
I believe the Mortal online one was designed to be played with DnD and the such while the Warhammer one is an actual unit for the tabletop game.
Edit: In the end I think the figures would be the highlight of the bag over everything else I saw in there. A hand out poster? A half empty art book? That adds up to another 60 dollars over retail? Well I guess part of the collectors edition was donating for the idea of the game.
Let's be honest, people. The only reason anyone bought the Loot Bag was to get into the beta as early as possible. My brother, two friends and I all bought the LE Loot Bag to get into Block A. We don't give a shit about the figurines or empty art book. The Loot Bag is definitely disappointing but I don't consider it to be a big deal since I, like 90% of the other Loot Bag buyers, bought it to support Star Vault and get into the Beta early. I am disappointed in the box though, as the order number (1-999) was supposed to be embossed into the box and ended up being placed on it with some lame-ass sticker in papyrus font. Oh well. Plus, when I bought it it wasn't $108, the conversion rate was different. It was like $97 at the time.

I still have tears in my eyes from laughing over the "sandbox book."

Same here... I am talking to the guy in ventrilo right now, I almost died laughing.
tell him about how you hate MO and yet you applied to be a GM for it I am in stitches right now
by the way, you have become a laughing stock on MO forums
Mortal online is such an epic sandbox that you have to write the code yourself, that's why those blank pages are there.

1) I never applied, it was a joke (I think)
2) Don't care if the fans are mad at me for posting criticizm
