Well we should definitely do a free trial MMO since that makes sense. I am down for: Lotro, WoW, FE, WAR, and AoC. Both WAR and AOC have unlimited free trials so maybe we can consider that; plus with WAR we can actually group in RvR and actually do our specified roles and not be a ninja.

WoW? Ohh c'mon, I'd doubt that anyone would want to play it again or if never tried like me they most likely never will.

The problem with FE is that the quests kinda eliminates grouping most of the time. We wouldn't actually play together and group most of the times.

I am for both WAR or Lotro. WAR because we could actually make the rvr more fun since we would be doing our specific roles and helping each other out (as I said how most people are ninjas in rvr and dont help the team, so they lose). Lotro just for the group aspect. I am also down for ALLODS but only because I never tried. How many people are actually down? We should give it a day too also in case people need to DL the game we choose and too make the characters and stuff...

Don't be -rude-. That was only 1 of 5 suggestions.

Now we turned this topic into an IRC channel, maybe we should use a real one? Or xfire? ^^

Well problem with Lineage its too grindy for the majority of the players.

Btw why isnt DDO on the list? It lacks real pvp but its one of the few games where grouping is actually needed...

Lineage II is a little too much of a grind. DDO would be ok; like Lotro and WAR (for rvr) grouping is needed. I would say Darkfall too, lol....but if we all got bored we would just turn on each other and kill.

I like all 3 of them also

    Sounds good

so DOO, WAR, or Lotro. Lotro I actually have an account, WAR we can do unlimited up until 10 so we could even make alts if wanted to and DDO is F2P, in a way. Is it just us 3? lol

I'd add City of Heroes to the list of grouping suggestions. While they've made strides to make soloing more possible in it, the whole game is really based on team-play through and through. It has a very good team-finding tool (which, apparently, they're improving upon with the expansion this summer), a huge amount of character customization (not just avatar, but skill and "gear"), lots of areas, lots of trials/task forces/raids, et cetera. The main downsides are the severely limited number of tilesets and the flagging populations on all but two of the US servers. Even so, I think it merits attention as far as this conversation goes. Definitely not for everybody, but tremendous for group enthusiasts.

Wow, I'm really happy with the amount of response this thread has gained. I'm also really glad someone threw a poll in there, I was going to do that today but someone beat me to it. Good work. Lets figure this out guys.

yeah you should probably start an mmorpg.com guild just to keep track of us all. well good luck on the decision for what game to choose, time for me to go to work.

do you want to start a guild and have people join so we can see how many we are getting.  Plus I think the 3 games mentioned is great.  DDO, WAR & LOTR.

I second the WAR like the other person. It would be interesting to see how RvR would be with a group of people actually working together. I have yet to experience that, lol...Lotro also but only because I have an account.

    Soo

where do we stand can we get this off the ground

I am currently downloading the Eu version ^^.

I played it back then when it was open beta; so thanks to the fantastic account system at turbine I have no free trial time there, terrific...

Grouping is no longer really needed in LotRo :( I returned after a long time, and the only thing you have to group for these days is raiding, thus end-game content (all added after v1b8). Before that, there's really no reason to group anymore, unless you want to give Fornost a try. Even doing the old grouping quests are tuned for solo play. I recently did v1b5c8 with my lvl 50 champ solo (only +3 levels on the quest tracker) and it was EASY :(

On topic. I'm waiting for TERA to be released. I expect TERA to be group oriented since it's Korean in origin with some westernization. Till then I'll stick with LotR and probably Black Prophecy and some other F2P games.

well WAR or Lotro, either way...lol...doesnt matter. lets get more votes so we can get the DL started for peeps or whatever.
