You can report gold sellers in-game to Blizzard. To whom do you report Blizzard for doing virtually the same thing?

Reporting to Blizzard only goes so far.  Also, why would I report Blizzard when I see them at not fault.  They have not harrassed me, forced me to do anything, or stolen anything from me.  But if I was to report them, its called the BBB (Better Business Bureau).  Doubt it would go anywhere, though, for the reasons I just mentioned.

It's amazing how many of you are willing to bend over for this BS, and I really can't figure out why other than the possibility of just defending them for the sake of defending them. Threads like this make it crystal clear how/why we are always getting less and less for our dollar.

Oh well, pretty soon they're going to try and stick something in there that will make you reconsider your bent over stance, but by then there will be no going back. You be fucked, so to speak ;)

I don't care what others do unless their actions have a negative effect on me. In this case (because it's Blizzard) stupidly giving out cash for such a thing will have serious repercussions for MMORPGs developed on this side of the pond from here on in.

    That's why I care.

If you like this genre enough to post on this site, you should too!

The only reason Blizzard is doing this is because WOW has finally plateaued, and they would like to squeeze the sponge as much as they can before it's inevitable decline. Why support such stupidity? Why encourage them to keep doing it?

    1) Why do I defend Blizzard?  Well, they haven't done anything wrong, thats why.  If they had, why would I defend them?  They have provided me with a product that I have happily used for years, and have not abused their position at all.  If you are whining about them releasing a mount you can purchase with real money, there are 200+ mounts in the game, get over yourself.

    2) "I don't care what others do unless their actions have a negative effect on me. In this case (because it's Blizzard) stupidly giving out cash for such a thing will have serious repercussions for MMORPGs developed on this side of the pond from here on in."  If something is having a negative effect on you, maybe you should stop whatever it is.  Besides, all you managed to say was speculation, and in no way was there any facts in that statement.  If you are comparing other companies failures with Blizzard, then you should stop right there.  It's apples and oranges.

As for your quote, "Who's the more foolish...the fool or the fool who follows him?"... I am wondering if many of you are hoping on the blame Blizzard bandwagon because it is easy, so anyone who disagrees with you is automatically wrong, and for that I pitty you for not having an open mind.

Ah, this thread reminds me of the days when I would groan about the early days of UO and how games like WoW were ruining the genre. The younger gamer crowd would say, "Get over it and move on! WoW is the wave of the future."

Now the "veterans" in the WoW timeframe are groaning about how the F2P model is ruining the genre and I have only one thing to say:

"Get over it and move on! F2P is the wave of the future."

Guess its time for you to go back to single player. See ya! Bwahahahaha!

That there are customers who fall for such ploys is bad. It shows there are people dump enough to pay  for this and justify setting this trend. From now on it will only become worse. They will milk this till the cow is death.

I feel sad for what the future holds.

Only an addict looking for a fix. We have drug prohibition for good reason. The time is coming that we shall impose constraints on gaming. We need to.

Given that these laws like internet neutrality aren't about regulating ethics of bussiness, how in anyones mind is censoring content good?  Having regulations would be a terrible idea, because it wouldn't stop at you can't buy spark ponies all I need to do is point to Australia, and just how stupid their internet censorship laws were. It started as a harmless movement and now its just a sad state for the rights of people.

Btw just letting you know that the only drug prohibition we have is on pot everything else has a legal medical use. Cocaine is used as an anesthetic for eye surgery for instance. Also alot of anesthetics come from the same structure as coke. So how is your argument even relevant?

No online gaming isn't bad for society, just like facebook isn't bad for society the correlation is the same. Addiction is bad for society, but addiction to anything is bad for society. Addiction to reading is bad for society if I wanted to argue irony since you spend more hours a day reading then fufilling obligations and getting things done. Should we ban reading to?

People do all the time look at farmvilles model, its called disposable income for a reason, poor people aren't buying this. People who have disposable income are, and for crying out loud the word disposable means they can throw around money and not care. If you invest alot of time into anything, you want more out of it and if more equals a sparkling pony why not.

Blizzard is a subsidiary of Vivendi Universal which is largely owned by the former "House of Seagrams". Is it any wonder then that a bunch of rum-runners should have no qualms about exploiting children for profit? The question here isn't whether this is evil and immoral but why it's still legal.

Personally I don't care what people spent their private money for.

Generally, I always said cool mounts is something games should not limit too strict and to endgame only. It's what I hated about the flying mounts in VG. What good is it for when I have reached max level? People want cool mounts, and as we see they are willing to pay relatively high prices. It's one of the few things which both looks good AND is useful. So I am not really surprised. I would have payed 25 bucks for a flying mount in VG or any MMO where it fits if I get it at a relatively early level.
