1) I like BioWare's design concepts as they've described them so far (obviously, we have yet to hear anything substantial about PvP, crafting, and a few other features, but I hope it'll be worth the wait).
2) Star Wars is a fun universe, and, let's face it, it's better with thousands of Jedi/Sith fighting multiple WARS than a handful fighting one (comparatively) small war of independence.
3) Gameplay just looks plain fun, especially once they iron out the animations and FPS.
Still have plenty of time to wait and/or change my mind, though.
I will play it because of Biowares knack for storytelling, and their balanced view on "evil" and "good"(where other games tend to punish "evil"-doers). I feel burned out playing MMOs where everything is about levelling up, grinding, generic quests that doesn't add to any kind of immersion. Way down on the list is that it is the Star Wars universe - that's not a plus nor a minus in my book. However taking it to another age than the movies - just like in Kotor etc is something of a plus to me.
So short end of the story - because of Bioware, will be the reason why I will play this MMORPG.
I believe I will play a bounty hunter - maybe a Sith as an alternate char - but lets see.
When the enemy is driven back, we have failed, and when he is cut off, encircled and dispersed, we have succeeded.
im a whore for star wars. i dont care what everyone including myself thinks of the state of the game. I LOVE STAR WARS! i love the movies, i love the lore, i love everything about it.
im going to get it asap and play the shit out of it. and if i get bored then ill stop. if not then HELL YEAH STAR WARS MANIA!
Ive always loved Star Wars and have trusted BioWare to make games nearly perfect, so ya ill be playing SWTOR. With star wars's rich story and background and BioWare's ability to tell a story and still give you awesome gameplay i know there do well. I do wonder and have questions on how they will do end game content since they don't want like 20 guys attacking the same person over and over and i wonder how things in space will work once they start telling us about it...but sadly in the end only time will tell.
Well, I thought I would jump on this thread also. Yes there is a good chance that I would try this game out. I am split 50/50 between this game and the new FF MMO comming out soon also.
I am like a lot of other people about being cautious about playing a new game these days. I have been seeing a lot of posts about Bioware always makes great games, so their new MMO is going to be great. I still remember all the posts on this site about how the great maker of DAoC(mythic) was, so WAR was going to be a great game. Now, I have nothing against Bioware or even WAR. WAR was a good game compared to AoC when it released. I got caught up in the Hype over that game also. You can add VG to that list also.
I hope both games turn out to be awesome, but I think FF will be more of a long term bet for years of playing a single game.
