I have gone ahead and purchased one dog and goggle form the item shop in fallen earth. I also do not even play anymore but they allowed me to apply it to my account.
Please feel free to tell me how this impacts you, your game play, and has directly affected your ability to progress and have fun in this title. I would like to know how others spend there time in an entertainment product affects you directly.
I look forward to the responses.

The game has PvP and multi-player. . if something gives you an advantage it affects my gameplay. If I decide I hate you at level 1 and you are level 1. . potentially the extra slots for storage mean less trips to town and faster progression.
Single player game sure. . buy the LE edition and get your nice gear. . doesn't affect me. . same game world and PvP it does. I consider online games competative to a degree and this is why I like to play. If It is not an even playing field I am not interested.
He has already stated that he is not interested in legitimate answers and did not post this looking for any answer than he already formulated for himself; regardless of whether it is not the correct answer or not...
I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

Every time someone buys the dog and/or goggles from the cash shop, a surly midget comes out of the crawlspace and punches me in the nads! So stop it you bastards!
Of course the answer you are looking for is it doesn't affect me in the slightest. And actually that is the answer I would have given you a couple of hours ago. These are just needless fluff items. They don't do anything to enhance the game experience. But you know what? They just might be a problem for that very reason. If they are pointless fluff why the hell are they wasting effort putting them in game? Ok sure they might make the company a bit more cash to help the game along, but I feel their effort could be better spent just working on the parts of the game that do matter. Maybe then they could get more people to play this game and wouldn't have the need to sell already paying customers frivolous trash.
Yes, a goggle and a reskined mob is the equilivent amount of time to make as a full blwn dungion or quest line. Come on now. My entire reasion for this thread was to point out the seastionalisim.
It worked, you guys (and gals) are like broken records.
If it was just that then why did you bought it?
For the lulz.
I never bought anything.
But everyone was conserned about what I did with MY entertainment product. It's absolutly halrious, and no one let me down.

I don't see any sensationalism in any of these posts. People are simply giving you their honest opinion. The only broken record here is you.

Take a look around at the forums. Look at all the "i'm quiting" posts, the doom casting, and yes, its even in this very thread, long winded rationlizations so they can not answer the simplist of questions that go contrary to narrative they propel. Over pixels, in a game.
I think you just lashed out becouse you included yourself in my ambigious "you guys". Don't do that. You are one of the sane ones.
Many are entirely confused. The box price is for the software. The subscription is for the service. The entitlement is threw the roof becouse of uninformed customers.

The way I see it some (many) of us take issue with the fact that what publishers/developers are doing with this kind of item-shop-on- to-of-a-sub-costs and the start of game changing items for sale. Are we supposed to think that devs/pubs are going to simply keep item shop content to "fluff" stuff. I can easily forsee the day where a player pays a monthly sub just to play and almost have to buy a ton of content from the item shops to compete and/or "enjoy " the game to any degree. How could this affect a player's progression and enjoyment in the game? Discrimination for one, say for instance you have a point in time where there are "I win" items/content/character upgrades and people who don't buy these items are 'blacklisted' by other players from being in groups, raids, etc. That is jsut one example.
The game industry is getting greedy and devs/pubs have shown that they can milk pretty significant amounts of money out of players for "fluff" items on top of subscription costs. How long until this is the "salvation" tactic for any MMO failing to meet profit expectations, to just throw an item shop on top of subscription costs and how long until the item shops become too signigicant to the gameplay? I refuse to believe these things are not possible and that unlikely. The trend is already starting to take place. Craptastically overpriced item shop mounts. Indie p2p games starting to sell not-quite-fluff-anymore items. AAA p2p games going f2p. $60 "next gen" games that lhave 8 measely hours of gameplay and pretty much expect players to live on the multiplayer element. $60 "next gen" games that don't live up to the hype or the price.
The current federal government is trying to take control of the internet and tacx the hell out of it, game pubs (devs too in some cases) are looking to do something similar with MMO gaming...hell gaming in general.
So for many of us this has nothing to do with us being envious of other players who buy the item shop stuff, it has to do with watching the "make entertainment" spirit of game making and game playing be replaced with the "make money" spirit.
Sadly, the title and the original post of this thread have been mod edited to "pretty' them up. Also some downright censorship with the removal of some posts which were not any more insulting, flame-ish or trollesque than the unedited title or original post. Poor taste mods, should have locked this thread instead.
Now taking bets on how long this post is mod edited or totally removed.
I forgot to add tinfoial hat to my list, I wonder if there is a store I can buy it from.
