EDIT: Oh, I forgot to add that as bad as Eve players are in-game, that pales in comparison to how objectionable those little freaks are in forums.
Darkfall has them all beat by a mile. Really terrible community, both in-game, and in the forums.

Guild Wars! At least in German Servers it is ABYSMAL. All is porn talk and aggro talk... terrible. My No.1 reason to profoundly dislike free to play MMOs. Those I have seen had awful audiences in chat.

Yes, PvP-centric games seem to be cesspools for social misfits, don't they.
Aion was pretty horrid, warhammer pretty clique-ish, eve was not as bad but it's not the best.........but I'd have to say aion due to the emo whines, gold farmers, and general childish gamers there. But a community is what you make of it, I cannot even remember a decent community starting off out of the box which i actually liked.
Hmmm you are judging a game based on the chat, which is usually dominated by a few twats who has nothing better to do but big talks in the global chat to gain attention?
Seriously, the first thing I do in any game, is to look for like mind people and create our own channels. Global channels are placed on another chat page and looked at only if I need something else.
a community is who you mix yourself with, not those who you do not like, so long as they are not able to barge into your life.
PvP games have bad communities.
PvE games have no communities.
P2P games cannot be bothered with communities and want to be left in peace.
F2P games have communities you do not want to be bothered with.
One could go on and on, eh?
Why would you ask which has the worst community, you know?
Would you not be looking for the best community? Are you trying to avoid the worst community but the next to worst community would be okay?
Generally speaking, MMORPG.com has the worst community - we all hate eachother, even people that agree on things hate on eachother, everybody is a troll because some fanboi cannot accept reality, etc, etc.
I find it funny some of the games mentioned already, since most of them have pretty helpful communities. It is a trip when you get right down to it...
But hey, at least it was not the same old same old thread for the millionth time - this has only been done a few hundred thousand times - so props for that...

After you have played XBox Live Halo you'll think that mmorpg communties are rather tame.
You know what's really funny is that all of them listed so far with the exception of GW are P2P. I thought the big debate here at mmorpg the last few weeks was about F2P and how much there communities suck.

I dont know wich is worst of all but I know wich is better , Eve, for all the MMOs I played at least a month( about 15), Eve is the only one that has its own Radio that broadcast 24/7 and is fully related to the game And Even a Tv for awhile! In-game Events, loteries, competitions and you corp can advertise on air! Not seen elsewhere than in Eve! That is true game devotion!

I agree. I can handle the chat, in any MMO, it's just that I don't want to have that type of a community in the game I play. When I played Aion I left my guild because they were very rude and would say negative slurs that just made me not want to be a part of; obviously they all ganged up on me after, lol.....I resubbed to lotro again since it has been the best community i've ever been part of.
I agree with the PVP notion. I think people just want to get a -rise- out of others since its pvp...maybe it will throw his or her game off?

Agreed. Every time I head back to the game, the community always drives me away. It's too bad, EVE is one of the only PVP centric games I can acutally stand.

The entire selection @ IJJI.com, the community in all their games has got to be the most selfish and childish i've ever played with, it's really total elitest bs.

Almost everything, if not everything, quoted here is very close to perfectly correct.
The best question to ask is why people don't want to form communities and what that says about people in these games. Community is a two-way process, not only does one have to be regularly trying to create community but the receptive parties have to be open to and willing to form community. If these two criteria are not met at the same time we won't have community and we'll have threads like this, bitch sessions where people will complain about what they are likely doing nothing to help make better.
(1)TL:DR must be your way of saying that thinking hurts. Then again, this may explain why it looks like you responded to the post without using your brain.
(2) It's not about community, is it? You just have nothing better to do.
I find it breaks down by server, you can havea great community on one and a rubbish one on another in the same MMO. And after all thats where you are playing, we don't play on a forum.
