This is actually one of the first games in recent years that I've been psyched before pre-launch where it's basically looks around where I expect it to be and I have no thoughts in my head convincing me it's going to be 10x better than the gameplay vids are showing.
So no, I'm not disappointed. I'm fine with how it's turning out so far, though I'm expecting it'll be tweaked a good bit before launch and possibly made a tad more exciting.
Honestly, though, all I've ever really been interested in when it comes to this game is the dialogue sequences and the supposed consequences of your choices, and being able to play another Star Wars MMO, and I'm not hyping the game up too much in my head while waiting for it, so hopefully the folks at BioWare surprise me.
Nice one you state you are perfectly happy with the game and then go on to hint that it needs tweaking to more exciting? I'm assuming you are happy playing dull games then. As for consequences for your actions ingame, this is the biggest lie Bioware is selling. Jedi can't preform evil actions without turning to the dark side and after that they are no longer a jedi SO unless you can change factions your actions are meaningless. I mean, would you really care if Jaja'Yo on planet Sutet doesn't like you because you said he was ugly? Meaningless.
Cry some more why don'tcha.
I stated it was as good as I expected, whether or not what I expected was any good. In any case, I haven't been paying attention to a lot of the hype, and I haven't brought this game up too high in my own head, so I'm gonna continue looking in on it now and again, and will make my final judgment when the game is released (when it comes to all aspects, such as the dialogue/consequences you seem to dislike).
And as for the last part, I might care if Jaja'Yo has a hate on for me. Should he become a major player in a further storyline, he could make life a bit tougher on me, whereas if I had mad sekz with his mother for money to cheer her up on her birthday as he requested instead of shooting her in the face as I had done.... maybe I could've got things done much more quickly, and without the near death experiences, possible added grind, etc.)
I'm looking forward to it more so myself. My average play time total for MMOs is like 10 months. If this one lasts 6 months and in that time shows room for growth, I'm game.
Hopefully BioWare takes the experience from this project and gives us a kick ass DragonAge MMO.
I kill other players because they're smarter than AI, sometimes.
I've seen several posters in this thread say the game is single-player with tacked on co-op. I have two questions: 1- have any of those posters actually played the game? 2 - have any of those posters read or seen any of the interviews out of this year's E3 that clearly stated that the game is literally "built around group" play (as in, groups of 3-5 players)? I've not played the game either, but that doesn't sound much like a single-payer game with a tacked-on co-op that you pay a sub for to me. Before engaging in that popular sport of jumping to conclusions, at least do a little research. Those interviews are all over dozens of sites besides this one like Kotaku, Joystiq, Kombo, and, of course, swtor.com.
The game has high expectations to live up to, but no, there's not a lot of solid information out about it. Part of that has to do with the fact that BioWare won't talk about anything that isn't solidly implemented and written in stone - meaning, if they're not willing to guarantee that it will be in the game at launch, they're not going to talk about it. While I can respect that to some extent, as it prevents some backlash after launch, it is irritating prior to launch, which is when we, as players, want that information so we can know whether or not we want to put a game on our "to watch" or "to buy" lists.
One thing that does seem to be apparent at this time based on some of what has been said is that there may not be space combat at launch (but, of course, we do not know that for certain). But hell, SWG didn't have space at launch and 6 months later when they did implement it, it had - and as of about a year and a half or two years ago when I left the game - still has problems that haven't been properly addressed. If they're going to implement space combat, rather than cram it in half-assed at launch, I'd much rather they took their time and got it right from the beginning, which is something SWG never even tried to do. So maybe they don't launch with it. Ok, I'm willing to give them some time to work on it, maybe launch it in an expansion, so long as they make an effort to get it right and don't botch it horribly like SWG did. If they screw it up, I'll be among the first to join the torch and pitchfork brigade. I can't speak for anyone else, but 90% of the reason I stayed with SWG as long as I did was simply because, even as screwed up as space was (and it was a totally screwed up, buggy mess!!!), it was space combat that, unlike EVE, I could jump right in and play at any level.
There are minor things that bother me (space flight on rails, cartoony graphics), but overall, hell...I've played WoW and other games that were far, FAR worse in the graphics and transportation department. I like my eye candy and I really like my exploration, but there is not a game made these days that hits 100% of my personal enjoyment points. The reason for that is that we all have such different tastes in what it is that we want and/or enjoy. Personally, I'd be perfectly happy to never see PvP in another MMO because PvP, as a general rule, has a habit of bringing every arsehat that can't act over the age of 12 into my little pixellated world. But that's why games have ignore commands, isn't it?
Things like accents are minor cosmetic issues for me personally, but yes, as another poster pointed out, what you're hearing there is a reasonably heavy Coruscanti accent.

Hello, I've just watched the newest videos where you see group play (Smuggler and Trooper, Sith Warrior and Sith Inquiz, Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent) and I feel disappointed with this game now becauser all the main characters you play as all have British accents which is strange (I know I'm British myself but I would have thought there would be more American accents for this game) and I have to admit the character design is really bad.
You would have thought the Twi'lek Smuggler would have a different model design but instead she looks like they have just altered the female Human design and made her green with head tails. And the dialogue, it's terrible, I was really expecting better but I think I'll pass on this game.
So who else here feels disappointed with the game?
so you have played the game from start to finish and know exactly what each voice sounds like on every character?
don't let the hype get to you...seriously there is way too much of it on this game.
The Demo's I played at E3 were fun and Star Wars in experience. The Smuggler was cool, the Sith Warrior was a little slow (my hands-on article goes up tomorrow), but not because of the class, because of the starting demo.
Again dont let your expectations get too high, for any MMO at this point.
Star Wars is a good solid game from what we have seen.
Give the team time to work on it and hopefully next year we'll all be playing.

I'll wait until its released and give it a try, if its fun, I'll keep playing it.
QFT, why are these threads popping up so much now? No one has even played the game so how can you be dissappointed?! Only dissappointment anyone should have is that they havent actually gotten to play the game yet. Thats my dissappointment but i can wait and wait i shall.

As i stated in an earlier post, you dont have to play any game to know there are things you dont like about it. Some of us have certain features and designs that we simply do not like not only in SWTOR but also in other games in which we have seen those same features / designs. If you dont like a certain type / style of game, you're not required to sample every single game that fits that type in order to know you dont like it, sometimes there are major features which simply don't appeal toy ou and they are enough to make any game not fun or interesting to you.
Sure there have been some arguments / posts regarding things that have not been talked about by the devs, but there are also features wich they have given us the details on, and personally i try to judge the game based on that info. I haven't completely given up hope for the game, but it is quickly dropping further and further down my list of games i plan on playing because of certain directions they are taking the game or because the majority of what they are doing has already been done repeatedly in other MMOs and I really dont feel like playing yet another version of the same game.
not really super disappointed. i think those of us who weren't kidding ourselves already knew it was going to be wow in space with added story elements. just a lot of fans had hyped this into being something it wasn't and now realise this game isn't quite what was advertised.
Speaking as someone who hasn't really followed this game (read: not payed attention to the hype) and who has recently become part of the game testing program.. I'm fairly impressed. Obviously I can't go into detail but suffice it to say the pictures/videos don't do it justice.
However, as it goes for EVERY video game, don't get caught up in hyperbole and come up with unrealistic expectations.
But we'll see what happens, still many months away from any type of release.

I mean, just looking at that one screenshot a year before launch, you cna already see that it will be the biggest failure of the gaming industry....and I know that because I can see failures and winning games just by looking at a single screenshot or watch 1 sec of a trailer of a beta product. :S

You can say whatever you want. You might've gotten lucky picking out "failures" in the past, but I don't see that happening here. It may wind up a "failure" by your standards, though I'm sure that you're aware there are more potential players than just you. Unless you're being sarcastic, in which case, it gave me a kind of chuckle. Sarcasm is a bit hard to read sometimes.
