SWG/DAoC/FFXI/Planetside was the reason I came here going on 5 years now.

I came across MMORPG back in 2004 and regrettably didn't join upon discovering it. To me finding a great game site or a fan site has become somewhat of a sport. I like subscribing as soon as I come across them, I suppose that falls in line with my trivial post count preoccupation. Perhaps its kind of a game within in game to participate on forums.

A lot has changed in the gaming community. Some of my first gaming sites where the old EZBoard Forums. This is going back to time when I played TA Kingdoms (RPG) and a year later in 1999 when I started playing EQ. There is a certain mystique about finding a good community oriented game site and a site like MMORPG that has a wide collection of games.

In my three years of participating on MMROPG I've found it be a health community of players. There are going to be those few agitators, but over all I've liked my experience here and that it covers such a wide range of MMO's.

2003 here.  I was looking through a game magazine and saw an article about MMORPG.  The rest is history.

I was playing Star Wars Galaxies at the time, among a few other games. But I had lurked here for probably six months before signing up.  I have always been more of a reader and lurker. >_>

04' here. I signed up when I was psyched for the release of EQ2 I believe. A lot of people here helped me build my first gaming pc. I was only fourteen then and quite opinionated (though still am). I did win a video card off of this site which was pretty awesome.

I tend to not post any more. I think the general quality of this site has gone down. Some of the game previews/reviews posted by the editiors of this site are pretty ridiculous and uninformed. But I mainly use it for news updates and sometimes check the forums.

04 checking in.  I come on every once in a while.

I think I signed up after asherons call 2 was canceled.

They should sell 2003 join dates as a microtransactions. $25 sparkle join dates lol. Damn it, WoW!

P.S. A 2003 join date + $25 will get you a sparklepony or a EQfailpony. The choice is yours!

Been playing MMOs since EQ came out but favored sites dedicated to the game.  Not sure when MMORPG came out but I found the site in '08 and signed up then.

My account shows 2006, but I've been here long before that. I'm an original UO player so I've been around gaming sites since 1997. Don't recall when I first lurked around here. It seems to me that I had another account before, but I don't recall what happened and why I had to create another one. I've never been banned from anywhere, except for a 3 dayer from a sports site for questioning someone's need for a jockstrap.

I found this site in 2004.  I had started playing SWG which had just launched and I was looking for information.  I still remember when i read about the NGE and logged in and told my guildies but no one really took it seriously since we just had the combat upgrade.  My guildies were like...why would they do that....it doesn't make sense.

I came to these shores in 2004, washed up after my ship was destroyed by a norseman Viking raider of the east coast of Albion. An orphaned, star struck child, I did not realise that I was destined to become a prince among npc’s whatever realm I pledged my sword to.

Throughout my wanderings MMORPG.com the elder wizard has been my constant companion and mentor. His powers as a seer are prone to a certain degree of exaggeration after a few pints of Hype and he is prone to being somewhat belligerent with a few beers down him at the tavern. But no wizard is as well informed about the secret world of previews and reviews, theme parks and sandboxes or other such esoteric lore.

Member Since: 02/03/2004. Was 44 yrs old when I found this site. Played MMO's way before then. Yeah I used to be one of those guys that thought paying money to play a stupid computer game AFTER you already bought the damn thing was idiotic and vowed to never engage in such foolisness. Then I guess I got bored and lonely and a friend got to me play Everquest and I was blown away, never thought games like this existed. Then came Asheron's call 2 and that sold me, havent played a single player game since. If they ever make AC3 I will have found a new home and prob would never play anything else. Never tried AC1. I can't stand looking at those graphics. Played AC2 until they shut the servers down and since then played about every decent MMO released since. Still looking for one that makes me feel like it did in AC2. Guess you never forget your first love because they been going downhill every since. I don't understand it. Currently playing LotRO. It's the last of it's kind even though it still is lacking ...something... also Vanguard entertains me from time to time. Rest of todays games simply SUCK!

After the shipwreck known as NGE, I made it to shore safely, atleast I though. I started looking for a new MMO, since swg had shown me that MMO's where much more interesting then single player games. Somehow found this site, I think I was looking at game trailer sites and fell on this one. Din't register right away since I was mainly just reading, but been a viewer of this site since mainly around NGE.

I came here a looong time ago. So long, in fact, that I no longer remember how or why I ended up here. Probably DAoC, or SWG related, but who knows.

Edit: I do remember arguing with people about EQ2, and maybe WoW as well, when they were still in closed beta. It seems like it's been longer than it really has been, though. Like 15 in MMORPG years, or something.

  • first visited back in 2001, I think my account is from 2006.  Just lurked until then.  :)

I'm still around on occasion, but since most mmos are utter trash today I don't really have much reason to stop by.  Add in the stagnant discussions that we've had since 2004 when wow ruined the industry, and there's just isn't much to discuss anymore.  We already know today's mmos suck, and we've already rehashed the good parts of mmos over and over, and been ignored by the industry over and over.  Either we're just idiots and we don't know squat or the industry is ignorant.  It doesn't much matter to me anymore which side is right.

I still keep an eye on newly releasing titles, but when I find out they're wow 67 point oh, another cash shop trashola game, or another pvp ffa loot gank fest, I just close down my browser and come back a month later.  In the meantime, I keep myself busy with Diablo 2, a 12 year old game with a hundreth the content of today's mmos yet 100x more fun, although truth be told they've made the items so easy to get and powerful, and the bots are so prevalent, that the game is really a shadow of its former self.  Still better than any of the trash mmos on the market.
