To me it seems that there is a tendency in parts of the gay community to play the role of a victim. To feel offended rather than to be genuinely offended. Most people accept gays as normal human beings, but once you start to act like you are different and stress the point that you are gay, you are setting yourself up to become a target for discrimination. That's not the fault of the game, that's the fault of your own faulty logic.
People act a lot tougher sitting behind their cpu than they do in real life so if you don't want this problem in a game ...DON"T BRING IT INTO THE GAME lol. Get on your lil gay forums that you go to and recruit there if you want to enjoy and all gay guild. Once you bring ity out in a game where people only have to worry about a warning from some one they will say anything and what ever to offend you. When I sit and play a game I don't stop every so often and go..that guy that just ran by me. I wonder if he is gay or black or whatever. People only care and complain when they are forced to have to see it or listen to it.

Geez, everything is used to whine about. So you can't use the word gay... start using the word homosexual then. Personally I rather have em ban people then filter out words, but does that mean you have to get that hung up about it when it's easily avoided?
If the word 'gay' was filtered, then I'm expecting words like sex, fuck, shit, cunt, nigger, redneck, dick and ass to be filtered too, else it's very strange.
I don't see the point if the word 'gay' is filtered among the other filtered words, there's enough other words to circumvent the filter (the words fruit, homo, fag and merry come to mind).

If you cannot do that - because you feel that a company should let you squick whomever you want whenever you want, however you want - then quit playing their game(s).
A game is a game. Leave your bigotry, and rage over being banned from not being able to dump your squick on others out of the game.
Not every company will let you spread your hate in their game(s).

talking to your kids about sex doesnt imply telling them thet have to fornicate 24/7...teach them that they are"possibly not prepared yet but this is how you prepare for it", because closing your eyes and handling them the barbies and hemans usually backlashes much worse...

Maybe they don't want to see homosexual characters running around in the game that their children might be playing. Sure my anecdotal evidance doesnt stand up against the body of scientific research. I just said that she knew it because she was taught about it in school. And due to psychology being a hybrid between natural science and humanities you will probably find scientific studies to prove both our points. The question is if the studies/experiments where done with correct methods or were intended to give a certain result by its design.
And the risk of a condom breaking exist for every age and is extremely unlikely. It has nothing to do with talking to children about sex.

All sexual prefs should be banned in game. In fact I think that all characters should be genderless with armor that cover every bit of the avatar. Everyone should be assigned an automatic nickname when joining to prevent anyone taking offense. Like Warrior001 and Mage201 etc. PvP should also be nuked and removed so that no one gets offended.
And if anyone mentions anything sexual or lurid in chat, bam immediate ban! Or if they say anything political or religious in chat bam immediate ban!
Then lets take it one step further, Have Everyone chipped so that way we will be unable to say or do anything offensive in real life. And everyone can walk around like mindless zombies while we go about our daily lives! Diversity pfft who needs that? Mediocrity for the win!

I would say that there is a case for servers for children and servers for adults to protect children from from internet preditors but theres another word used for that evil type of person and its not homosexual .
