Yes it does. If it makes sense one needs mana to use magic. I havnt played in a long time but when I did, hunters had magic shots that used mana and could even heal their pets so yeah, it makes sense for magic users to use mana.
Death knights have plenty of attacks that are magic and they don't have mana. Seems to work just fine there.
I Didnt say the new changes wouldnt work for a hunter. Just said that yes, it makes perfect sense for a magic user to use mana, unless of course the magic shots and pet healing a hunter did wasnt really magic. But that would be just silly wouldnt int?
The magic they use is almost unexistent . Arcane shot? ok i can see that one as magic. Aimed shot? nope . Steady shot? nope . Explosive shot? Nope . Serpent sting? nope . Viper sting? Well ye that one to but without mana viper sting wouldnt exist . volley? Well the way it looks its magic but it isn't supposed to be magic , simply extremely fast reloading . Multi shot? not magic either.
Now sure some are unrealistic but aren't magic . So tbh i think focus makes more sense.

I'm not sure hunters come across as spell casters. Sure some of their abilities fall into the damage classification that some spell casters have, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is spells magic. The impression I have always felt was that they augment their arrows and traps with poisons and other things found in the wilderness to give them different effects.
It is a fuzzy area for sure, but not one I think is a game breaker one way or the other.

I dont think it will be game breaking either but the ability to heal pretty much falls under the heading of magic and hence the use of mana does make sense in this case as well as arcane shot being arcane magic.
WOW isnt great because it has 12 million players. WOW has 12 million players because its great.
Hunters mana is being replaced by a system very similar to energy for rogues. For hunters it is called Focus. I'm don't know if is acts exactly like energy for rogues, but close enough.
Bandages, frenzied regeneration, last stand, vendetta, mark of blood, rune tap, improved leader of the pack and other abilities heal without the requirement of mana.
Arcane shot still uses an arrow, but the arrow deals arcane damage. I'm not really sure this is a spell or requires mana in any sense.

Haha. Ok your right. Healing and arcane magic isnt magic. So using mana is stupid and has been for 6 years. I was wrong and you are right as usual. Thanks for playing.

Oh come on, we both know that isn't what I was trying to say. I just offered you some alternate examples to show that healing isn't the sole domain of mana using magic casters or the appearance of one word cements the entire class structure.
Hunter melee attacks use mana also, but I wouldn't call those magic or spells.

I am in the Beta and I did copy my 80 Hunter over and I did pwn an 81 Shaman twice.
The change from mana didn't affect me in the least.
I haven't played it, so don't know how it is, but I have to admit that mana for hunters never made sense.
I'm very interested in the change, and how it works out.

Forgive me if this has already been asked or answered but what exactly is replacing the mana system for Hunters?
This is not a game.

There really isn't a wrong or right here.
