Do not buy SC2 if you are looking for something new

You already own this game. It's called starcraft 1. 3 years since a playable version was seen and 100mil dollars later and what do we get. Starcraft 1 with a 3d facelift.
This honestly should have been SC 1.5 patch....The ONLY mechanic that was added was jumping units....I mean really....12 years of RTS advancement (looking at CoH here) and this is what you give us. These mechanics were good when SC original released a decade ago, but now....come on people.
This game is nothing more than a money grabber. The fact that 3 episodes will be released and sold is further proof. So keep paying out your wallets SC/Blizz fanboys cause that's all activision wants from you, and they will get it.
As for me, after the adoption of the policy of "it's ok to release bad games" that companies have had, I refuse to buy games that are not up to standard. Make it right, or don't get my money. I will not be buying SC2 (I beta'd), I say uncounted times that SC needed more mechanic upgrades to be a legitimate sale/upgrade to no avail.
This is not blizzard standard, this is activision standard. Enjoy blizzard while it lasts, cause it's not going to much longer. I'll sit back while they rape diablo for cash as well.

If they did this with the original Diablo I woud buy it.
So I could understand that people would buy it for just that.

Why buy the same game if you already own it? Isn't that like...a waste of money?
Actually, I did know... but this is why I stayed away lol. Graphics are nice, but if thats the only significant difference then I'd have to pass which I did lol.
You do that while millions play this game and probably enjoy it. I don't get it. Blizzard has made 4 HIGHLY successful franchises and that's a fact, maybe a few more but we know the big 4. Were you around when D2 came out? People were doing just as you were doing only the complete opposite. "They changed to much". That game was pretty successful wouldn't you say? So regardless of what you are going to do, this game will most likely reach the same plateau as its predecessors and I hope I will enjoy it. I haven't bought it yet, but soon will. I am merely speculating like you are.
The amount of time spent on the physics system alone for a RTS is worth it. It's the little things that kill, and quite frankly Star Craft II is one of the best games made in ages.
What did you want? A Star Craft FPS? Oh yeah, that idea sucked and it got cancelled.

Yes there are some who did, but the 800k preorders and the millions of sales they'll have before next week even starts shows that people like having the really old game repackaged to be nice looking.
Plus the map editor's overhaul.
A decade of uncontrollable success. I highly doubt that. But, I am speculating like you are.
Because people stopped playing SC1, now there will be millions of games going on all the time again. Plus if it's a game you enjoy, why wouldn't you pay to have it put in a new engine with new graphics? Any game that I've really loved I would pay for that service, but no one ever does it. Give me Doom with the same levels and same weapons in a modern engine and 3d models along with true 3d viewing, I would buy it. Same with Duke Nukem, the first C&C, etc etc. I would love to have some more of my old games redone with very little changed involving the gameplay.
And this means what? That there are at least 800k people that could be suckered into buying something they already own just because this new version looks better? I already knew the world was full of people that are easily suckered by pretty pictures lol.
Look at how they have sold cars and beer for decades lol, get a chick in a bikini to sit on the car or hold the beer and count the money that rolls in lol.
I 100% agree with you. The physics overhaul and then the map editor made this worth it alone. Then they added better graphics, new maps, units, and a much larger campaign for each race. The work in that alone is staggering. I respectfully disagree with the original poster, because if you could not see the huge differences then you need to look again, make a map, play through the whole campaign, which I know for a fact you coulnd't in the beta, then come back and let's see if you have the same opinion.

actually i dont own the campaign already.
It is amazing, they added mercenaries, and the ability for you to upgrade yoru buildings and troops on your ship, you also get to interact with other npcs, they even have s remake of a space shooter type game.
The RTS gameplay is the same as SC! the units are obviously the same ( with some new ones and some tweaks), the story so far is awesome.
Dont hate until youve tried all parts of the game, multiplayer is fun but the campaign is where blizzards work shines.
Well most should get out of blizzard ass then becouse only thing they want is $$$$ and they get it becouse all buy there games good or not hehe.
Btw SC2 is mainly made for KOREA thats where best players are and main player base.

Um 800k PREorders. So that tends to translate into millions upon millions upon millions of people buying the game. You might want to wait and see the sales numbers that they are bound to release over the next couple of weeks and months because it is going to be right up there with sales numbers like MW2 (which broke all kinds of sales records). I'm sure you'd still decide that all those people are stupid and you are one of the few who aren't, unfortunatly majority rules millions vs the few means the millions are right.
The most amusing part of this is the few people who don't get it are so highly offended by it. But I think what they are really offended by is their inability to get it.

Why would anyone buy Mario Galaxy 2 ? is the same shit as Mario Galaxy just new maps... yet Mario Galaxy 2 is one of the top games right now, quit trolling and let people enjoy whatever they like and stop hatting on Blizzard just because they want to make money.
