It's this kind of blind allegiance to a game/developer that has created a MMO market that flat out sucks. Enjoy your rails, you can forget about an upgraded flight system, ain't gonna happen.

a verry casual friendly play for x weeks/months and leave game. a entertainment medium that in no way is designt to be any sort of simulation rpg be it ground or space. its meant to give you one thing. a good story driven game you can play co-op whit friends being like a movie you see once or twice.

I don't agree with that as I think Bioware will patch new content in frequently enough to keep their player base post-launch.

There won't be much need to patch new content in for many months after launch.   I don't think many of these people actually take the time to realize how much content is slated to be in this game.

Space battles aren't much of a worry,  but its something that gives people who were already not interested in the game a real reason to complain about.

Months ago we heard "There won't be space combat,  you can't have star wars without space battles, I'm not playing."  and now with space battles planned albeit in a tunnel shooter fashion,  you hear "This game didn't do space combat right (eventhough I haven't played it) so I'm not going to play this game."

They could have created Jump to lightspeed 2 and many of the same people would complain it was just a clone of X-Wing,  or something like that.  Those that want to hate the game will complain no matter what information gets released.

I have played plenty of other games in the past that did not have space and I enjoyed them, so it won't make any bit of difference to me if they get rid of the whole space , I would not care.

Like I said before I will buy the game, play it , and if I like it I may keep playing it. If not I will have other games to fall back on. The fact that you are spending all this time bashing a game that other people like just goes to show you have some kind of agenda here.

I don't like EVE but I am not on their forums bashing their game.

Space was secondary in Star Wars.  I'd say 80% was on-foot/planetary and 20% space-related.  This is counting movies and books.  As has been said as well, most of the best selling Star Wars games did so well without space.

SWG changed numerous times with the way combat was created and played,  how progression was done.... stuff like that.    You had the original,  CU,  and the NGE versions of the game.  Each update had major changes to core systems.  Just one example, and behold,  it was a Star Wars game.

KoTOR was never about space combat. Space combat in KoTOR was just a way to make load time between going from one location to the next less of a bore. To me I would just grunt and play anyways. Space combat in TOR most likely will be the same, something to pass the time.

I'm kind of disappointed that the developers seem to be caving into the whiners. It makes me wonder what else they are going to put into the game because a bunch of ex-WoW fans were whining about it.

Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.

Just do what I do and go back and read a couple of there post. This guy for all intents is a "troll". Has nothing to do with your opinion but damn, we get. You think this game will fail oh no. I hope this game does get millions of Sub or box sale(If its turns out to be B2P) just so people like you can STFU. I am tired of this shit, Go play your shitty SWGEmu.

Yeah, and how did that work out for them besides destroying an awesome working game? Perhaps you're one of the ones who loves NGE but I can assure there are many people who loathe NGE.

But I'll say it again, if you think they're going to change flight systems down the road then good luck with that.

SWG was a fail of a SW game even one of the Dev said so. I am sure you one of the people who think the bug fest that was SWG-preNGE was the best game ever. NEWSFLASH that game was loosing 10k subs a month to WoW prior to the NGE.

And there it is...  Look, guy, I loved SWG too, but I wouldn't exactly call Pre-CU SWG "awesome".  I had my fun in that game but it was broken, we all know it.  Yes, I hate the NGE, but I don't play anymore so that it doesn't affect me.  Also, since you played SWG, you should know that the ground game was the mean and potatoes of that game, space was just an addition later down the line.  TOR's ground is going to be the meat and potatoes, space is just going to be something else to do.

How is Bioware "caving" to anyone?  What... are they developing brand new stuff because of some whiners dont like what they see?  Or are they just developing what they had planned already and revealing it as they go?

Yeah... and we all know how much CU and NGE helped SWG.

I will not play a game with a cash shop ever again. A dev job should be to make the game better not make me pay so it sucks less.

I actually liked the CU,  and it still had the same retention rate afterwards.  The NGE is what killed the population.

Hey look. I am disappointed with what we know about space myself.  That doesn't change the fact that I play most of the game on the ground anyhow... I was an ace pilot in SWG and got bored of it really fast. Rarely ever did I go in space , and I had a gunboat.   Yea, I use to be a big space person, but after awhile it got to the point where it was too boring for me to be bothered.

As long as this game has good content, decent end game that can keep me satisfied, good pvp. Than they should be able to keep my sub. If not then oh well.

Would I like to see more than just a rail shooter? Something more complex for space? Yea , sure I would. But it is not gonna phase me in the slightest.

This is what the concern should be.  The game in its entire part, and not some sigle aspect that will "ruin" the game.  Im sorry , but if one thing out of many others is enough to ruin something for you, then you are doomed to dissapointment forever I fear.

I was a SWG CU fan,  pre CU was good too.  I left a few days after the NGE and was able to get a refund on ToOW.

I don't think BioWare will change the flight system,  but I do think they can append to the flight system later.  If they have a current system in place, they can make same mechanics modifications later with a Space Exploration Xpac if they wanted to that just removes the rails.  They don't need to change anything,  they can just build on what is already there.

Either way, it doesn't bother me at all right now.  I haven't played the space combat yet,  so I will reserve judgment.
