    I don't see that Seabeast.

What I see is a group of very spoiled brats coming on forums and catching a fit and stomping their feet because they can't get what they want or allowed to do things the way they are used to doing them, or want to do them.

Recognized and verifiable PC issues are one thing.  But everyone is not having PC issues.  So that the problem can't be just the game, it has to be everyone's individual PC's.  If that is what it is, then let's call it what it is which is "some people are having PC problems with a good game" and not stomp catch a fit and stomp on the ground saying "this game sucks because my PC doens't work."

    There is a difference.

And I see condescending FFXIV fanbois that dismiss legitimate concerns about the game as quickly as they pop up.

Both types of posters exist on these forums.

To the OP you should of played the open beta and realized this before spending money on the CE to get early access. Would of saved yourself 70 bucks or however much it costs.

I'm sure they made some improvements from open beta, but this game core is def not for everyone.

Legitimate concerns are in the eyes of the beholder. Just because you care about something doesn't mean everyone else does.

Takes the Muslim Community Center near Ground Zero. I personally don't care about it and don't think it's a problem. Other people are ready to kill over the outrage.

Same thing, except this is CLEARLY not as important.

And stop using engendering language. It's fanpplz.

You wanted my time, so I played you. You wanted my money, I forked it over. You wanted my soul, I gave it willingly. Not to complain... but when do I get my end of the deal? And no, I don't want your flippin' carrot. If you can't do that give me back my youth and keep the change. Why don't you try chasing your own damn carrot for a change? I'll gladly hold the stick.

If that has been fixed and hte combat made more responsive ill be straight out ot buy live. i played through closed and open beta and saw the potential and liked what i was seeing, after id spent a few hours frustratingly getting to grips with the controls/interface.

Hmmm I can not talk for the crafting system, but the combat system now works pretty smooth in my opinion. THan again I am sometimes a bit slow paced. Some of the starter leve quest in case of combat where sometimes done in 3 - 4 minutes.

Yeah, it's subjective. Which is why it would be nice to see people stop calling people trolls and spoiled brats when they see something they find unappealing.

Because calling people fanbois for not caring is much better? There is name calling going on across the aisles, it's not going to stop.

    So stop worrying about it.

    I agree.

Like everything else in life, within a spectrum, there are always extremes on either end.

For the record, because of what I heard since I haven't played the game, I fall in the middle, if not slightly to the "this game has problems" end of the spectrum.  However, the argument that "this game sucks because my PC sucks" is not connecting with me for some reason.  I think we have to be able to separate gameplay from the fact that all Online MMORPG's are going to have technical problems at launch.  Once MMO forum communities are able to do that, then I think we will arrive at more constructive review dialogue in said forums.

Having said that, I don't expect that to happen.

But, for the most part, that is the root of the problem.

Worry is a strong word. But yeah, for whatever reason I like to stick up for people that are coming on the forums, expressing their opinions and then being called spoiled brats, trolls, stupid, lazy or whatever else they've been labeled as.

Especially when those concerns are legitimate.

Well I plan on giving an honest as I can give review when I get my game. As well as timing everything with a stopwatch. Because frankly, I can say it seems faster to me all I want, because actual numbers help people visualize and compare.

Actually ther eis maybe the problem I admit that 'which concerns are legitimate' is again a subjective thing.

Colddog, being a spoiled brat is not necessarily a bad thing.

I am the biggest spoiled brat.  I am constantly reminded of this, and have grown to accept it.  I am not a bad person though.  I am very caring and loving but ... I am a spoiled brat.

    Don't be so sensitive.

Spoiled brat is more often then not perceived as an insult. If you can't see that, then I don't know what to say.

I actually seen a live feed of the 'live' crafting on these boards last night while I was at work. It was almost delay free except for the part where it loads the components for the levequest. Outside levequests it was flash-flash for crafting screens - most definately not the delay in Beta anymore.

I'll try and find that link again and edit this with it if I can find it.

This would really make my day if the crafting system was lag-free. Also if selling items was lag free as well, and equipping abilities.

Lag removal in general would be a great thing!

And as you desperatly try to push the car over the next 10 miles you fantasise about killing the clerk, slowly.

The engine is not missing. Lots of people are driving this car just fine and enjoying it.

Actually, the engine is clearly missing. And the one that was just released to be inserted into my car made absolutely no difference from when I didn't have one.  Unless you enjoy pushing a car through an angry neighborhood that do not speak English, then you will not enjoy it.

    Good day!

Nothing to see on this thread, really.

    • I wasn't expecting to see the lag completely eliminated, I was expecting to see it improved, with more improvements on the way later into release.  Maybe you wanted a miracle patch, but I don't believe in miracles.  Because the original poster has never played the game during beta, he can offer no insight as to how much better/worse it was than release.

    • Most of the what the original poster talks about is what anyone who's first started up the game is likely to encounter, but it's not an unsurmountable hurdle.

    • Some of his complaints about performance seem to stem from a stubborn insistance to run the game at max settings, probably with ambient occlusion on.

    • The other 7 pages of comments to follow have mostly been nothing but the idle speculation often attempting to forward a highly subjective agenda shoving folk in the direction of liking/not liking the game against their will.

So, in the end, there's nothing new here I could verify reliably or didn't already know.

Of course we are not really talking about swimming though, but about online entertainment with pre-existing expectations that are not acknowledged. Sink or swim is fine but often occurs after your parents hold your hand through learning to walk.

Here you log into a game thinking you already know how to walk - and you don't and now your in a big blue pool on top of it.

Gamers not bothered by this, have to accept that it will bother some. It doesn't change what it is or how people will like or hate it.

Ok, since we are slinging witty analogies around ...

How about some babies crawl around longer before they finally stand upright and begin to walk?  But we all keep crawling and eventually get it.

    Keep crawling!  :)

In all honesty I think it's better for people to not take anything they learned elsewhere and apply it to a new situation. Not only does it help you think objectively it makes the experience more unique.

When I was learning to swim I didn't think about how I moved on land and try to relate it to swimming. If more people just separate things and just keep it at this is this and that is that. We would all enjoy life more.

More importantly, how fast you learn and how well you do are determined by skills you've worked up i.e. reading comprehension, reaction time, etc.

You wanted my time, so I played you. You wanted my money, I forked it over. You wanted my soul, I gave it willingly. Not to complain... but when do I get my end of the deal?
