Cool deal... I'll scoop by gamestop on my way home from work tomorrow thanks guys.
Oh its 19.99 used at Gamestop, its a good deal.
NO don't, if you wait a couple of weeks it will be on the $10 rack.
As if GameStop deals in used PC gamers.
Amazon cut the price a bit, but GameStop is still selling it at full price.
They are talking about Lost Oddessy.
Oh yeah, that game sounds interesting. Got about 76/100 on metacritic, the worst score being a 2.5/5.0 on GameSpy (only half a star higher than FFXIV). I'd probably rent it over GameFly.
Go for it, it's a pretty good game - main reason people rated it a bit low was because in most peoples words "It plays like a JRPG..."
There are 3 types of people in the world. 1.) Those who make things happen 2.) Those who watch things happen 3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
It's worth noting that this is all speculation. There has been no confirmation from any reliable source on this since it happened and is all just rumor at this point.
Thats what I been telling you all, its a conspiracy to "get the development team". First, they pay off all the gaming review sites then they pay players to say its bad then the market crashes...why can you all see it?
Hyperbole is fun isn't it?
The market didn't crash, it dropped a relatively small amount for a small length of time before recovering. All of this reporting on the subject is all specualtion WHY that drop happened. No one really knows, and this is just their best guess.

Don't you just hate that bullshit? A game releases for a certain market playerbase and Critics give it shit because its too much like a game for that particular market!! LOL

The next Final Fantasy game has to be a FF7 remake for them to climb out of this hole.
FF7 isnt even my top 5 of final fantasy games and I have played all of them save the new one 13 but that is because that game was absolutely horrible. Then again a lot of "fans" never played anything before 7 and they claim to be "fans"

Selling off stock you already own at the bottom end of an economic downturn, at a low for the stock prices pretty much worldwide in every industry, solely because you didnt like one product they made? FFXIV is only one of what 15-20 they have on the market right now, and the others are doing exceedingly well on sales.
I just dont see how someone who is appearanly rich, and should have at least a minor grasp on financial success, would believe this to be a sound fiscal move. I mean yeah, I can see making a public statement sure, but at that kind of a cost? $26 million on 10/08/10 in SE will most likely do nothing but grow in the near future, no matter the state of or future of the PC version of FFXIV. Even if the PC version doesn't grow more than it already has, it will sustain itself until the PS3 release. Sales alone on that will more than compensate for the initial budget SE spent on the games development, which to the shareholders is concidered to be a success, no matter what we might say about it.
So how much money did he lose for his 'statement'? I'm just surprised his broker would let him make that kind of move, emotion is one thing that can make or break you in a heartbeat in the stock market, and anger is never one of them you should be using to get ahead.

LOL, thats the point, what other excuse can the fanboi's come up with that FF14 is anything near ready to release? We are up to what...4 low reviews and a ton of canceled subs? The conspiracy theory makes about as much sense as the other explanations on most the forums. This site was filled with comments regarding WoWism and how the game was for players who where somehow more...intelligent than the visitors of this site. Now that the facts are out it would seem excuses such as "XXX game site gives garbage reviews" and "players who report the facts of the game are unable to play without hand holding" are exhausted. If only the fanboi's would accept it, regardless of how painful it would be, and enjoy the game will we stop hearing such silly excuses for the release of this unfinished product.

You lost me there again. So you want the fanboi to admit your right first, then enjoy thier game second? But what if they dont agree with you that the game is total crap? Should they still admit your right anyway because you say so? Oh wait I get it now, you think because half the people in the world are racists, and believe that people of color are somehow less than people who are not, that they should just accept this fact and get over their wrong beliefs? Just because someone from the KKK stood up and declared it as fact?
Yeah I'm not buying it sorry, you can jump on that wagon if you like. Me, I'm going to judge for myself. But thanks for trying to tell us all what we should believe. Fact is, not everyone believes this game is crap, and calling them fanboi is no less an insult than calling someone of color a n....... So please, enough is enough.

Its not uncommon for a fan to buy a stock on a company he believes in and its not uncommon to sell a stock based on the direction of the company as well.
If the seller bought this early on he probably made a pretty penny, as to how much will he have lost down the line is anyones guess, but rich people for the most part all ballsy with their money. Most likely hes already reinvested it. Hell probably bought it back to prove a point lol.

what you major in twisting words? I do not want to fanboi to do anything but play their game as I stated son. Read the post, I did not say anything about the game being crap, the reviewers of game sites did lol. And most important, relax, breath and play the game, just stop telling me that it is ready for release, that there are no problems other than people can not play a game without their hands held or WoWism ban wagon stuff. Fact is, simple, 4 review sites says it is crap, players are bailing out and if you enjoyo such a puinishment, by all means,,,dig in. lol, kids...go figure.

He had to do it before the release of the next big AAA release anyway. *imagines FF14 cut in half with a lightsaber. What do you think will happen to the stock at that point? I guess it depends on the PS3 release.

1) Have you lost your mind?
2) If "troll" is fair to use as a term to define anyone that posts a single criticizing view of any game on this forum then "fanboi" is the opposite of that term and equally acceptable isn't it?
Neither term is nice or necessary.

He didn't lose anything if the stock drops and he reinvests that money in stock that climbs. Also, SE's stock prices rebounded that same day from a low of 1735. It held for a couple of days with average closes but, if you look at the last two days, it's actually dropped well into the 1700s again after maintaining mid to high 1800 closes since the release. There's certainly not enough information to call it a trend, but this kind of very public, very noticeable event makes some investors nervous.
His decision is certainly an emotional one, but only time will tell if it was also a fiscally irresponsible one. He may well have that money in something that's a solid earner now, so he's actually lost nothing ... except his confidence in SE.
Stock value and total company value through stocks are 2 different things. You can have 1700 stock value at lets say 50 million dollars. Or 1850 value at 50 million dollars. Same same. So what I am getting at is what is the total stock " worth " and how much did it dip? Like did it go from 50 million dollars to 24 million dollars? Alot of stocks split in half making it look like the stock actually lost ground but carry the same amount of worth.
Fact is, not everyone believes this game is crap, and calling them fanboi is no less an insult than calling someone of color a n....... So please, enough is enough.

Neither term is nice or necessary.
That is my point exactly, none of those terms are nescessary, period. Every one of them is meant as a deragatory term. They are insults. Nothing more. No, they are not acceptable. Each and every time someone uses one of those terms on these very forums it causes anger, digust, and hatred. Exactly like the word I neve rspoke but hinted towards. There is no need to use any one of those three when refering to another person. And we all know what is meant when you people use them. And dont even come back and say your calling people fanboi or troll to be nice.
The use of terms like 'trolling' is acceptable since it is a description of an action, calling someone a 'troll' is not. So lets all be realistic and grow up a bit shall we. Lay off the constant name calling and insults for a change. I think I made my point on that comment very well, it got the attention that was needed. I know I dont care for being called a fanboi when I know the poster means stupid or idiot just like I know you guys dont like being called a troll. Sorry I had to make that point like that, but the reference and name calling on these forums really is getting out of hand. The use of these terms like they are should not be passed over as common place and acceptable, because they are not.

This is hilarious and makes you a complete hypocrite.
"Trolling" would infer the person who posted the comment the adjective refers to was "a troll". The term "troll" has come about in the last couple years because someone wanted to insult a person for whatever comment they posted that was innappropriate (whether legitimately or not).
You can just as easily say that guy was "being mean" or "being out of line" or "intentionally causing grief" but no, instead it is accepted on these forums to use "trolling" which in itself even outside of context is a personal insult. xD
To anyone that is rational the people spewing the word "troll" and "trolling" all over the place are the real "trolls" because they are using a term that is inherently offensive and it sets the pace and tone of the following comments.

Follow those. Dont like those, oh well. Dont care what you think things mean, isn't up to you. Calling someone names with the intent of being an insult is against the rules of conduct of this site. Not up to you to interpret. You call someone a fanboi and they report you, the moderator decides if your in violation. I'm not going to argue the point with you on this one. I made it clear and simple I dont think its appropriate to use terms in a deragatory manner to refer to other. I see it used against me I'm just gonna report it from now on. Its that simple.

Also Kaocan, comparing a word like 'fanboi' or 'troll' to an extremely offensive racial slur is beyond insensitive and childish. Whether it proves your point or not is irrelevant; you could have easily used another example.

Seriously, you dont have to like my reference thats fine. An insult is an insult is an insult. The intent behind the usage of any word is the issue. And trust me, I see more hate and insults on these forums than I do in real life every single day. There is no rationalization which justifies intentional trying to insult another. You may disagree with them, and wish to convey your point, but do you really think you have the right to insult whenever you want and however you want? Do you think your that much above others that you have that right?
And as I stated before, this isnt an up for debat issue is it? If you insult someone on these forums, its under the code of conduct rules as a violation. It isnt up for me or you to decide what is or isnt acceptable, its up to the moderators. And that is exactly where this topic end. If you feel I'm out of line for requesting people stop spitting insults, then by all means report me and let them decide.

Ouch, this hurts. We'll this is what happens when you rush a game out the door with poor planning, bad game design and bugs.

Oh no, you did not just say that?!!!!!!

Ok, here is rational for you.

+1
