UO (4years) (dint have awhole lot of choice back then hehe)

Starwars galaxies (5 years)  (probaly my NO:1 bang for the buck)

Lord of the ring TR (3 months) (was ok.. )

Eve online(1 year) (was ok , more comunity related then game buck bang)

Champions Online (at 73 days now) (my NO:2 , very entertaining, lacks on the high lvl play atm "endgame" , comunity and rp keeps me in atm)

Dark Ages by Nexon. I loved that game and its the only game I ever stayed with for two years straight without taking a break.

WoW also has been a large love/hate relationship, but at the end of the day I must admit that it is generally quite fun the first month of my play/return.

Fallen Earth comes in third, simply due to the fact that the game was so astoundingly different than any other I had ever played. I love the atmosphere and pretty much everything about it, except for the issues with pvp which desperately need adjustment...

I have to say SWG was probably the game I was most into, though Ultima Online was a close second.  I don't think I got more than 3 or 4 hours of sleep on nights I had to go to work in the morning.  Even though all of the professions were broken and there were serious balancing issues with the game, it was just plain fun.  I started as a smuggler/pistoleer then switched to a weaponsmith/smuggler then switched to a weaponsmith/tailor and finished out my first month like that,  See, even though it was 6 years ago I still remember it well.  I loved that you could quiclky advance through classes and everything was skill based.  It was easy to learn, crafting was incredibly complex and fun, unless you were a tailor or architect.  I was a tailor for a long time but eventually switched to a Bio-Engineer/Teras Kasi (in case those mutant rancor samplings went awry).  I finished out my SWG career as a bio-engineer and quit after the CU seriously screwed and broke bio-engineered pets.  The fondest of memories and I'm still in contact with several friends I made while playing SWG.

EQ. I played the heck out of that game for the first 3 months. I remember always reading the Kunark strategy book. Learning about new spells, and reading about zones looking at zone using eqatlas.com, using allakhazam to find out about mobs and spells. Playing MMOs used to be such an adventure!!

The best 1 for me was EQ1 played it for over 5 years. Then Daoc for a year or so  after that EQ2 for a year or so then Darkfall for about 8 months.

Biggest waste of money so far FF14 played it for a few days so far havn't logged back in for a week now. Fallen Earth I did play it for the first free month but I wish i never would of picked it up =/. Then WoW Played it for about a month tryed to liked it but wanted to shot myself playing it.

I agree, the original SWG, even with the ultra laggy launch, was ahead of its time. Shadowbane was a close second for me, just because I'd never played anything like it at the time.

City of Heroes. Even when I got bored of the game I always came back to it over and over and over. It was just a great game and still is.

I wonder what the correlation is between everyone's first MMO and which one answers this question. My answer is Ultima Online and that is what I would consider my first graphical MMORPG. The freedom to do anything, the internet still being developed, the amazingness of this new sub-genre all led to a great first month (and many months following). In addition, every game I've played since besides Eve has felt less immersive so it's been harder to get that bang/buck up.

I suppose Shot Online is close since it was free and I played it a ton for a few months too.
