Please.  Let us have this one.  There will be 10 more themepark WoW clones right behind it to milk the cash cows that you are, I promise you.

EDIT:  This isn't to say that I don't play WoW, I do.  I would just like this game to be more hardcore with lineage open PvP style worlds with consequences so I can enjoy both gaming styles.

The game will be what it is. Whatever that is. However, if they are aiming to get a sizable crowd for their game, they are not going to have niche mechanics such as FFA PvP or players dropping their purples they spent 2 weeks farming a dungeon for.

That doesn't mean they can't do something interesting with the PvP system. Possibly something we haven't seen before. I suppose we'll find out at some point.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

This is where you are wrong.  Niche markets stick around after launch.  The WoW market plays it for a month and leaves.  I think any number of launches since WoW have proved this.

They doesn't always do that no.

The thing that makes people stay i when a game feels different enough to offer an experience other games don't. It also needs to be fun enough.

TERA offers a more action based combat system and great graphics, if that is enough or not is hard to say.

Aoc did also offer those thingsand it could have done better but that might have been because it's combat mechanics just wasn't fun enough or because of its tiny content.

But just because you make a niche game does not mean you keep all the players. Both DFO and MO did sell a lot more boxes than they have players now, a lot more.

Wow on the other had did keep most of it's players for the first 2 years or so. But Wow at the time did actually offer stuff other games didn't.

There are plenty of niche launches since WoW that have sucked just as badly as the mainstream ones. Having a niche audience doesn't help with that. Any MMO, even the ones that launch poorly will have a group of people who will play it no matter what.

If they want to attract a large crowd of people (and they do) they will appeal to a more mainstream audience. How well the game is produced, how polished it is will determine whether they keep subscribers or not. Every person they get in the door has a chance of picking their game as "the one". The more people they get in the door increases their chances of finding those people.

Think of it like this, with development costs being the same, are they going to try and get 200,000 people to try the game, keeping 50,000, or are they going to try to get 50,000 people trying the game keeping 50,000? They're going for the 200,000 initial audience because that's 200,000 people who buy the box or the digital download.

Similarities to Lineage perhaps, but Lineage prodigy it will not be, sadly.

No castle sieges, instanced Battlefields as the only way to get PvP gear, FFA PvP system (no karma).  Basically end game will consist of farming PvE instanced group content or Battlefield farming for PvP gear or political gain.  Sounds familiar...

I think (though I hope I'm wrong) it will in fact be more of a thempark style game whether En Masse "westernizes" it to death or not.  I just hope they do something with the open world that entices people to farm there, such as a good crafting system and many world bosses.

I'm still eager to try this game out as it's the most anticipated game of 2011 for me, but I think  Lineage 3 will be the only hope for another Lineage style game.

I don't think so, probably in the pvp server there will be a karma system and more reward for open pvp. I don't like BG too, too wowish. But is too early to judge, we don't know the rulesets for pvp server in detail, we have to wait the netx beta phase.
