Ok, so by far the largest MMORPG in the western world is implementing the biggest change to content ( ie about 4,000 new quests are being added today) along with drastically changed landscape in almost every zone in the game... all this is happening today.
I come to this site, and the featured article is about the lack of news from GW2. The 'best' news they could come up with is there is no news about an upcoming game that is probably more than 6 months away from release.

Azrile most people who bother to sign up to a site like this are normally MMO veterans. There are not many MMO veterans that would consider any events that are going on in WOW to be of any interest.
Lets face it WOW is just another tired old EQ clone and no amount of new landscape or races is going to move it away from the tired old formula. How the hell you can play a game that still uses auto target button mashing shite combat is beyond me. Does it not bore the shite out of you yet?
What a shame that you think this site should focus on WOW when there are so many interesting new types of MMOs coming out (Guild Wars NOT being one of them!).

Actually the op is right. What other news is bigger today for the mmo genre then the massive change of the biggest mmo?
Unecessary, immature and rude. So much hostility over a video game?
Who could have thought that WOW could bring super power like USA to its knees?

Im picking on WoW btw because its the beast that made all of this possible
While it is big news, there is still no "official" word as yet. No patch notes, nothing. Seems the community team is sleeping in or something at Blizzard. Tons of unofficial word though. All I know is, I can't wait to roll my Holy Cow, Dwarf Shammy, and Gnome Priest later today.
Most WoW players aren't on this site, generally this site is more for "elitist" who are constantly looking for new mmo's.
Thats when any new mmo is on the horizon, the forums are filled with "omg its the best game, this is the WoW killer" and then it comes out and "this game sucks", "you suck go back to WoW" etc etc.
In all honesty if you want news on WoW just go to the official forums like the rest of us.

its completely irrelevant what some wannabe "veterans" think, nor what you think about sign-up-reasons on this site. the OP is perfectly right - its nothing else but unprofessional to not cover events of this importance to the genre.
but then again - there is massively for information, mmorpg.com for trolling, not?
Heh, get to watch the cinematic at least and see the new login screen and listen to the awesome score while we wait for servers to come up.
...Dear lord, save us.
Hope he doesn't get a key, either.
There won't be a whole lot of articales published today because they have not played it yet, hell at least give it a day before complaining.
No offense but whats so important about the news? OOOO their releasing new quests (they always do) OOO their releasing a new race( been there for BC) OOO their tearing up the world ( So what its stale so they are trying to unstale it by releasing the same crap but telling you its new). Its not news its only news to WoW heads and they would already know the news as they love wow while the rest of the world could not give a damn.
I liked the changes, but others mileage may vary. It feels like the levelling curve has been eased again (even though it hasn't for early levels) but that's mainly because Quests flow much better and there's alot less required travelling. There is instancing, but it didn't seem overly intrusive (and for some areas it's pretty much required - Gilneas for one - there are SO many people there questing in an 'open' zone would be impossible)
this is a mmo news site, you know ^^
I couldnt care less about WoW, but if mmorpg.com wants to save the last bit of reputation they got, i'd cover changes in the biggest mmo ...
Don't tell me you are surprised....
Meh, really dont care 1 bit about Cata , i have subbed to wow 4 times , max lvl numerous , and really dont need to see more of the same carrot on a stick that Blizz offers , 3 months after Cata you will all be sitting in city again quein DF for yourr easy loot ,
But on the other hand buy it and sub up .. my stocks have shown a nice steady climb ... chaching
Fixed that for ya! :P
Heh heh....qft!

Guys, relax. We have to wait for little things like confirmation before we rush out and publish something. That's how we roll. We're not ignoring WoW.

1) There's a big ass Banner for it and splash background, so it's not exactly being ignored (I'm looking at them right now as I type).
2) Cataclysm has already been covered to death anyway, are you expecting an article just about it going live? It would be very beefy. "Cataclysm is now live!" Big woo. They should cover how players feel about it....oh wait, did that already. They should cover what it's about...oh wait, did that already.
3) They've said MANY times that they don't review things the moment they come out. There was this whole big thing about them not reviewing FF14 or something, and it was stated they tend to want to like...play it for a bit, and see what the community thinks, before whipping out an article about it which by the way, also takes time. You think they just type something up the first day it appears and right then and there, we all get to read it? There's editing involved, and I'm sure this one article is not the only one that needs approval.

Well the article about GW2 was yesterday, if this was announced today it should be going up today aswell...

"It sucks"

Exactly.
WoW stuff is MMO news. I agree it's the biggest most popular MMO in the world so it should be looked at closely. Even if I don't personally play it.
Gw2 is so far from release that anything posted about it is just for the hype addicts. But of course MMORPG.com knows this and that's the whole point of posting it.

Really, I'm not sure what I was expecting here on this site. But come on, they added 4,000 quests today. They completely redid about 75% of all the zones in the game.
I just found it ironic that it isn't even mentioned no this site, yet the featured article is about GW2 not having any news. It's really ironic since it looks like Blizzard has started advertising on this site.
And of course this isn't my primary source of WOW news. (mmo champion and wow insider).
