I really don't want to pull a facepalm right now so instead i'll link some articles for you. (which i put into your post. Your going to have wide open worlds, crafting 2 forms of pvp, world quests, personal quests. If it's in a normal mmo its in this game.

Open PVP is where it's at! Instanced arenas can be fun with certain game elements and strategies and all. But I miss good ole' fashion pvp like WoW was when it first came out.

Strange line of reasoning, you have gankers and griefers in any MMORPG, and those who've been at pvp and pvp advancement for a longer time than you generally have some kind of advantage, as you can see in WoW, AoC, but also an EVE Online with its skill system and better ships or Darkfall where vets rule against newbs.
Anyway, some people already remarked upon it, but for the sake of repetition: SWTOR will have arena PvP via all kinds of War Zones but also open world PvP.

The warzones sound really cool. I would love to hear about some of their larger scale (ie more players) PvP plans. Hopefully they will release information on that soon.

Bioware has always taken the stance if it's not finished we don't talk about it. Maybe this is the case that the open pvp worlds are not finished (as in not working up to BW standard), therefore they don't allow those PR people to talk about it.

What would you rather read, bits and peices of what they know they are implimenting and can at this point prove is in, or a lot about what they think sounds cool to impliment but mostly just stays an idea and never gets done? While the game is lets face it, still far away from launch, BioWare has been very careful to avoid saying they are doing something to appease everyone, and turn around and not do it. What BioWare says is in, has so far been shown to us.
They also shouldn't have to repeat every bit of info they have said before getting to new peices of information, just so people who don't follow the game can be brought up to speed on every new interview. There are a lot of TOR sources, many of which have a neat "What we know so far!" section, in point form.

Not having great pvp in a pvp game = "a damn shame".

WHy are you so bent out of shape over PVP anyways? SWTOR was never advertised as a PVP game. its a PVE game first with deep storylines, PVP is secondary.

I disagree with the "PvP" part being anywhere near as important as PvE for a game like SW:TOR. Unless a game is purely PvP, PvE is far more important.

I could easily envision a this game being a pvp game. Heck, I could easily envision a version of lord of the rings as a pvp game within the confines of the lore (though the evil players might feel a bit constricted).
But SWToR is not a pvp game, therefore not important. It just depends on what the developers are trying to make.
A game like SWToR could be developed as a pvp oriented game, even with the story part. Heck, the story part could bring players against each other.
But again, that's not what they are making so "it is what it is".

They aren't complaining about it not being 50 vs 50... they're complaining that it won't be 6 on 1.
This was really interesting till I hit the bit that said 8 v 8. I thought the PvP in a star wars game should be large, epic scale fights. 8 is not large and epic to me. I was hoping for fights in the 30s at least, similar to the pvp area in SWG where you get some really nice big battles going.
I've got to admit the 8 vs. 8 only to start is a disappointment. They've been saying they are planning on setting up large scale battles as well (although that was awfully toned down in this interview) so I hope they manage to get that up and running quickly. Or simply set up open PvP servers.
