Is reading really that hard? everything is right in front of your face. Moreover this is PVE game first so your threats are meaningless.
Who could have thought that WOW could bring super power like USA to its knees?

Im picking on WoW btw because its the beast that made all of this possible
Awww... but Bioware never advertised this as a PVP game. yes there is going to be PVP but if you are expecting anything like Darkfall, blame yourself for wrong expectations.
The mainproblem I've got with SWTORs PvP is that there's no reason to do PvP in the first place, but only to brag about kill/death ratios etc.
PvP is only good, if it is the basis of the games economy. If there's no need to fight for ressources (ressources that everyone should need to craft any damn thing in the game to begin with), then the PvP isn't anything I'd consider taking part in, which turns the whole game into a pure PvE-MMO.
PvP-servers doesn't change anything on the above, aswell as world-PvP-zones... It's a waste of developer-time imho, if it's not an integral part of the games economy.
With that said, I couldn't care less about it actually, as I see SWTOR as a "World of Star Wars" anyways, which isn't too bad, if they get the game polished up and PvE-part done aswell as WoW itself.
The game is marketed as a PVE centric storyline game first. It does have PvP though.
Granted it's not going to be on the level of say darkfall or such in which you can take keeps but you do get experience that way so you could effectively get levels that way.
As for resources there is at least 1 planet in which open PvP is suppose to take place. I would imagine that there would be schematics or other such resources that someone could get off there.
But in the end, if your the type that thrives completely off of PvP then ToR isn't going to offer you a lot more then you could find in any other mmo.
The game itself is thriving on interactive story based PvE content more so then PvP, PvP is in there to allow you to do that if you wish.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
Player enters tatooine after landing in dockbay finds another player that starts dialog, assuming a player can provoke (Sith) and taunt the other player by certain dialogs going on the first player can choose to ignore or keep up with taunts until, there is a message to be able to engage "Guard isn't looking
- Lightside points (Ignore and head on) Darkside points (risk it and engage enemy)
Both players risk confrotation by beenc apture by security forces and taken into locked containment and credits for fighting inside city or fight is short and one of them "defeats" other and gains points and XP.
This is literally one fo PVP systems TOR can go along with Bounty Hunting and warzones if you look at it its pretty awesome.

The big flaw in this system would be, that you can ignore someone. It's basically nothing else then a duel-system, which is the most stupid type of PvP ever thought of.
Either those areas like Tatooine are open FFA-PvP with something meaningful like ressources to fight about and more importantly: with something to loose aswell, or these areas are not needed at all, as a duel-system can take place everywhere else too.
Consentual PvP with basically nothing to loose or win is mabye good for some people in an arena-environment, with a ranking-system for epeenery etc, but that's a seperate game within the original game then. I can aswell go play Tekken or SoulCalibur instead, when I want to have a duel. It's simply pointless to have something like that and wasted dev-time.
