Honestly, that "dragon" looked and moved like when I was playing with action figures as a kid. Stiffened rotation (er, I mean turn) of death! It's more like the most bad ass plastic dinosaur ever.
Its a cool looking boss but its just another instanced boss with the way GW2 works.
I would rather have a seemless open world.
actually that boss fight happens at the end of a dynamic event.
Yes but (and correct me if im wrong i dont folow GW2 that much)
GW2 is not a seemless world. Its just a series of instances that you can teleport between.
i will correct you because you are wrong gw2 is not a series of instances like gw1, but you can teleport between waypoints set on certain spots of the map.

And you shall be corrected. GW1 is not a seamless world, but GW2 is. That dragon is an openworld fight at the end of a long chain of dynamic (open) events, and things like the cannons require certain support events completed to be able to use them. So everything leading to that fight influences that fight, and its only a mid level boss.

It may not be a seamless world but it is not instanced either. But Its persistent and that is a bunch of players in a very large map wailing on a very strong boss that was brought on by a series of sped up events.

I just did some research and it sounds to me like they are having an instance world. Its persistant but still instanced.
This is the only quote i can find on it its very vague...:
"“There will be changes to the instancing system used. Persistent areas, similar to those traditionally used in other online multiplayer games, will be introduced to Guild Wars which may allow players to meet and interact while exploring. Instances will still be used to further storytelling within the game and for missions and dungeons."

Oh boy, before we go off track and RE-EDUCATE YOU, let me make this clear. When you read the FAQ, did you read about personal story? if the answer is yes then let me clarify that the Personal Story will be instanced (its called Personal for a reason) the Dynamic events however are not, so get your facts straight NON-FANBOY!
Yes and I do believe there was one in slikroad even...way back in the day. I'm not a big fan of zergs.

You can't try and prove someones post wrong when you say apparently. that just takes any facts you present and throws them out the window. But yeah, I guess I meant persistant since I assumed most people used both words for 1 meaning.

Considering I've only seen one portal (which is the gates that lead to the city of Divinity's Reach) I can only say apparently because I haven't seen more between zones.
But yea, it seems like our student doesn't want to take our word for it.

On topic, no thats not the most badass dragon ever, but it was pretty damn cool looking. It reminded me of a giant chameleon/dragon hybrid. I must say, I really like the art direction in Rift. It definitely has its own style.
And now you all know why I will not touch GW2. So much fan rage Oo

I love how you haven't read the facts and think you know them more than the people who have.
