Well servers are unstable atm so just got to wait until they fix them I expected them to no be stable since this is the 1st time they allowed a large number of new testers to login.
If you like strategic PVP (Not just standing there clicking shit) you are going to very very let down...

Is it? i had 3 characters that I couldn't log in for a week, it was eventually fixed, and now I have another that cannot be logged in. Tell me you are gonna wanna play for 10 hours on day one and have your character not be able to log in for a week because of some issue that hasn't been announced... they have major stability issues right now.
Must be on your end then, or something to do with your beta-account.
Like Thatim2 said, this game didn't have this big issues for all those, who are testing for several month allready. Even the rubberbanding wasn't that excessive for me like in the videos etc...

tons of people had the problem, you must of stopped paying attention to the game if you are/were a tester
Yeah sure... if you've just started and are on Newbie Island with lot's of people, then you might have alot of troubles during the last two weeks...
So, for a casual gamer (as in I have a job and a wife casual, not anime casual), go for Earthrise or Rift?
Rift man, if you are a casual without any doubts...even only because the game is a lot polished and stable, wish I could say the same about Earthrise.
Still im going to choose ER over rift, as I can spend hours and after years of mmos I cant stand another theme park
Yeah... that's my Catch 22 problem - I can't stand themeparks anymore but I don't have enough time to invest in a sandbox-ish game... Thanks for the tip!
Better to be crazy, provided you know what sane is...

i insta left noobie islands everytime to remain neutral... honestly you should of realized this if you saw my screen shots...
well, you are talking with a person who only post on forum about earthrise, that should tell you something
It was kinda odd that whenever I moved either the camera or the character, my FPS would drop by half. Just tapping the W key would make me go from 100 FPS down to 50, and there was some hitching in the 'outside' as well.
ok all the connection issues and crashes aside, i wanna know about the gameplay. building bases, pvp, mechas (if they are there, i heard they wont be at launch) i wanna know how fun the combat is and is it a wow like target and spam or is it tabula rasa shoot in a direction and hope ya hit it. i wanna know about the mounts you get. tell me all!
I get disconnected after 30 seconds. After returning to the login screen, I am unable to quit the game or even alt-tab out to force it to shut down. This makes it necessary to shut down my machine by disconnecting the power. I don't like doing that, so I am not going to touch this game again until it's confirmed that it works correctly. Yes, I know now that running in windowed mode will get around that particular issue, but frankly, I am just fed up with testing games that haven't even been ironed out to the point of basic functionality. I already have a full time job.
The imminent launch, and the lifting of the NDA says that the developer is confident that they have a solid product. Their own forums, and my experience this morning say something else entirely. There is some sort of disconnect between the developers and reality apparently.
I don't even bother applying for Beta keys now. After 10 years of this shit, i prefer to goto the developer studio website rather than the games, see if they are in their bedroom or a multi-story office. I can do web design, program, model, texture art, server tech and i wouldn't trust myself to make a game. Leave it to the big boys.
a game with a lot of potential but it needs some major adjustments and improvements in controls, ui-handling, crafting and performance before it is more like my taste. so i will try it again in 6 months and/or after some big updates.

You should lookout for those Beta-Keys, or better yet, make a pre-order for the game
Yes, it is really good, allthough all the information tells another story.

well i havent been able to log in for more than 30 seconds without the server crashing.

That is wierd, because I am testing this game for about half a year now, and only experience 2 server crashes.

i just get a connection lost every 30 seconds

server disconnection reason: your zone is down
i get that after 30 seconds once in game
Yeah... that's my Catch 22 problem - I can't stand themeparks anymore but I don't have enough time to invest in a sandbox-ish game... Thanks for the tip!

As for now, the beta server is unplayable, you will disconnect every 5 minutes
so for those who still haven't got 1, you are not missing much, because it's appaerantly down again
So What Now?
Just created my character and Im walking around - All works fine so far.
Will post more after I played a bit!

Controls are horrible - Uninstalled.
lol that was fast

Targeting is great, it's like Global Agenda, there is no soft targeting neither hard ones be it with ranged or melee weapons.
Predicted, correctly

Controls are fine, you are just over dramatizing,
and i suggest you look at the game manual, because the control is just like every other MMO
oh well, at least give your account to those who really like the game
So What Now?
