Masthead should be given a little more slack than Square-Enix and if you like sandbox games, you'll likely enjoy the game despite its bugs. Although the server has crashed/forced logged people out and some zones have crashed, the game is still playable and performance has improved. If these minor bugs are game breaking for you despite the game itself being solid, then maybe you should just stop playing games at launch/beta because this is the new norm.

Doesn't suck to some maybe, but in my limited time of playing (about a week) all it was for content was kill 10 things, turn in, kill 10 more things, turn in etc. etc. It will need a ton more content and clan warfare to make me even consider to buy this. I was so looking forward to a fun sci fi mmo also :(

Good thing its not a PvE focused game then.

No but from some things I have read, pve is almost required so if its shitty pve then that is not good or fun. But then thats the threads I read on the beta forum scattered about.

Thats because you don't, currently, get BP from PvP. Which is a good thing. Everyone knows the PVE is shity, all Masthead needs to do is make the grind non existent.

Ive read most of these replys and this thread exploded over night which im astonished by because not only is almost everyone agreeing about it being unplayable... people are still going to support a game that is unplayable. This is causeing shit games such as most if not all released in 2010 to come out, why? Because people who say "Oh its just 50$" are giving developers who have not earned money, money.

But if you still want a beta key check out my video... I managed to snag one along with my own:

Level Up Extra - Earthrise Beta Key Giveaway

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEHHmuNDdfM

If you dont agree with my problems check out that link and try and win a key, then download the game for a day and realize you downloaded it for nothing. I tried to do a Level Up ep on this game cause I got to the tut zone FINALLY but I recorded 2 min and it crashed with the end quote of me saying "Do not buy this game.". I thought the footage was to trollish, but sadly its true.

couple things, STOP comparing this to eve. Eve never required torrents to download it. Eve was a lot more stable than this game if 500 people tried to log in to it.

Eve had PVE areas(a lot more then 4 quests), eve had mining, eve had trading, eve had crafting all at launch. and a very stable platform.

Eve had a real insurance program up not $600 insurres all your equipment .

Eves ships were not so one sided that a battleship(tech 10 armor) could kill 100 frigates(tech 1 armor)

CCP always talked to its custumers and still does.

Masthead talks to its custumers through physic links and smoke signals.

And tp all you odd balls who actually think a game is suposed to run this bad 4 days from launch you delusioanal at best.

This game is a Mortal Online fiasco at best. Its poorly designed and mast head has not listneed to any critizsism at all.

Dont Touch this game for 6 months minimum.

I don't think they expect their profit to be as high as SE did w/ FFXIV. So I don't think it'll fail.

With it being as antisipated as it was I think they expected a good amount of change. Maybe not as much as FFXIV, but I think they are another company that will let there game die and laugh all the way to the bank.

AS a gamer, even if a game generates A LOT of profit, if it's a bad game, full of bugs (not saying this is the case here..heck,but it is..lol) and poor design choices, i would call it a fail. IF i was an investor,i could think of calling it a success, but not as a "game", but as a "profitable business".

Yea I'm not really sure that holds water considering we're 4 days from release... when would have been a good time to let people beta test it?  I guess after they pay $50 for the box.

No the best time for them to do beta is after you pay $50 for the game and you pay $15 sub for the folllowing month. this game is nothing more then a russian scam.

I feel sorry for this company. Yet, I don't. Why? Because they will launch it broken and people will still pay full price anyways.

And that business model has worked SO well for game companies over the years. Really, at what point do you figure out that once you lose your players the first week, they don't come back? I thought by now, SOME company would have learned this by now.

Anyways, "it's still in beta" never means squat. Ever. Nobody on the planet can name a MMO that did a complete 180 after somebody uses the old "it's still in beta" arguement.

I'm sure this game will be good to play for a niche group, with or without the problems. I'm on the fence, but starting to sway. Even if they fixed the bugs and crashes, I ( as in ME ), can't get past the following:

The Character Customization is worse than any asian f2p grinder from 2001.

The controls are like a monkey humping a football.

Movement, walking, jumping, falling, anything uphill is just O.o

    5 days.

Everything else is just peaches. Skill-based, potential for depth, endless possibilities for expansions.

I look forward to your reviews, moreso after they get past this bad time.

Eve online, so do I get a prize or something for being the only person on the planet able to do that?

If I remember correctly some of the websites jumped the gun and gave out beta codes earlier than Masthead intended them to.

I haven't been able to get past character creation so can't say what I think of this game. If the patch fixes this issue like they promise then for me its no big deal. This game offers s many of the features I am looking for in an MMO.

However I remember this same kind of problem with Mortal Online and hope we do not see a repeat of that fiasco.

they gave out the keys on wednesday last week which was jumping the gun, becuase the server was still down then they were supposed to give them out on thursday but no one did then all the sites gave them out yesterday instead.

Anyway you cut it , the beta test, or preview has beend a cluster F. But more importanrlt is this, nothing is going to change on release day.

People need to stop funding unfinished product unless the company tells them its unfinished. currently these companies promis e the moon up to release date and then thre fanbois jump on people who critizinte them for substandard product

The game is totally unplayable as it is now, I didnt manage to play it yesterday when I downloaded it, couldnt even enter the game because of the zone down thing. Now in the morning I managed to get in, play for 10 minutes and crash with the same error again, so at this point I just gave up.

Also the GUI is total crap, its clunky and feals unnatural. Should I mention client lags? Probably not, its normal for every indie mmo on launch/beta.

Buyer, be aware, I know I'm not buying this game for 50 eur, ask yourself if its worth it, my opinion it is not.

Also devs delete your posts on forums and lock topics :>

They may be rent topics, but they are based on facts.

I laughed my ass off when in a topic relating the zone issue a player thanked the devs for giving NPCs kewl armor :D instead of making the game playable they give armor to npcs........ think it says it all really....... MORTAL MK II here we come :>

That was actually me, and the reason was previously the npcs looked like rainbow warriors, it completely broke imersion, the armour textures were already made, they just werent enabled, if you went past your spoiledness you would actually comprehend the post, then again you were one of the new testers so you dident know how the previous patch was, simple dont like the game and dont want to support then though, go play rift or something.

ER Has more quest than just 4. Maybe you never left the turtorial area. ER also has crafting (people are already making t4 armor in beta), and it has trading (auction house for bulk buying trading for not). False statement is flase

False statement is false. While I was testing the devs came on to beta global chat and gave us a status update

Dont Touch this game for 6 months minimum.

Eh, if the performance issues are fixed, which is likely given most of it has been with the latest patch, I'd say if you need to wait just wait until territory conflict is properly added.
