I can't wait for a Zombie MMO besides Dead Frontier to come around. Don't get me wrong DF is kewl, but a sorta WoW style thing instead of RS style would be better (I only mean point of view...if a Zombie MMO was a freakin quest grind i'd never play it)
I love zombies and the trailer looks cool. The "ironic" solemn music with violence is so overdone in game trailers it is corny.

Trully stand out trailer the likes i haven't seen in a long time, however i don't want to get too hyped up on something like this, disapointments from past things teach me to wait and see.
Not a huge zombie fan, but I play a few games with friends. I found the the trailer really disturbing, and i am not a parent. Honestly not sure I could play a game if it was close to the trailer it just felt too "real" for me. However, it was well done and I sure that the trailer actually represents the game, which seems to be rare in most circumstances, it could be a great game for a lot of people.

Why does nobody ever bring up the fact that this trailer is a pretty well disguised adaptation of the trailer for the movie Aftershock?
Sure, the trailer is the most brilliant thing to come out of gaming in ages, but it's still a blatant ripoff.
I was not aware of Aftershock. Just watched Graveyard of the Fireflys again the other day. In no rush to watch another tear jerker but will make a point of watching it at some point. I watched your link and your correct. It's shot the same. Even so I think you would expect this kind of drama or power from a film trailer. Never from a trailer for a computer game.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that was awesome!!!!!
Just perfectly proves my personal philosophy: if everything starts going to hell it is time for me to get my backside to the deepest darkest forest area (hopefully one with hot springs :P) to stay far far far away from the carnage down below. Whether it be zombies, aliens, or the oooo sooo scary evil <insert nation state/religion name here of choice (I personally prefer the evil Jamaican Rastafarii with their bongs of doom)> army invasion I dun care but, if you stay in the city MOST likely you'll end up just like the folks in the trailer hehe. Well, unless you are in the hospital for some odd reason :P
While the trailer playing events backwards was an interesting (and mildly annoying) touch, what I really liked about it was how different it is from what I would normally expect from a zombie game trailer. There was no pumping music and cool weapons blasting pieces off of slowly shambling zombies, but rather a deeply sad take on the human side of the situation. The zombies were sort of a secondary part of the story, while the tragedy of the loss of the family was center stage.
If the game itself can maintain a scary atmosphere while focusing on the human side of the equation the way the trailer did, then it will definately be a win.

I havent felt this way from watching a cinematic since when sephiroth killed aeris in Final Fantasy 7. Only difference is when i watched the cinema in FF7 i went from sad to pissed off by the time i put in the second disk. Here i just feel sad but its so beautiful at the same time.
Absolutely astonishing. It's by far the best trailer I've seen to date for a video game, I can't think of one that was more cinematic, intense, or emotionally touching. As a fan of all things zombie, I'd watch a full motion picture by these guys in a heart beat if it retained the same style, and it's left me extremely interested in a product I otherwise know nothing about.
I want more trailers like this.
"This is life! We suffer and slave and expire. That's it!" -Bernard Black (Dylan Moran)
I loved the trailer. It works as a game trailer and cinematically. Shooting it in reverse is a great way of telling a story and actually makes it more horrifying because there is a terrible inevitability to it all. The entire mise-en-scène owes a lot to recent zombie films like Dawn of the Dead remake and the Brit zombie TV drama Dead Set in that we have “safe” familial domestic spaces invaded by the undead against bright sunny backdrops.
Here is my misgiving. Hopefully they won’t have “boss” zombies like in Left 4 Dead as it spoils the immersion for me and takes it out of the zombie genre. Hopefully they won’t have mutant creatues or parasites like in the Resident Evil series as again it removes it from the traditional Romero-esque zombie genre. Hopefully it won’t be Dead Rising set on an island (albeit with a more serious tone), as when you have characters just mowing down swathes of zombies then it just becomes a meat grind with no tangible sense of threat, tragedy or dread.
Unfortunately, from visiting the game's website I think it will just be another shoot-em-up and carve-em-up zombie actioner when what I want is a zombie horror game that is about survival, scavenging, avoiding looters and other dangerous survivors, and which highlights the human drama and tragedy of a zombie apocalypse. It is this type of zombie drama – much like the Walking Dead comic and TV series – which I am attracted to and not just another frivolous, juvenile and dumb slaughter-fest.
So, great trailer but I am more excited about the up and coming Dead State zombie game in terms of a game being more true to the Romero-esque and Kirkman-esque idea of zombie drama; it’s a turn based strategy, too.
I'm anything but a zombie fan, but whoever came up with the concept for this deserves a promotion. This has what all games of the genre have lacked -- soul. If the game itself somehow manages to capture this, I'll be doubly impressed. I'll probably even buy the damned thing.
Don't know what version of the trailer Jon posted have no time to check atm. There is the original reverse trailer and a newer version in chronological order. Posting the chronilogical version here for anybody that has not seen it.
Wow. That was a good trailer in the sense it makes me want to learn more about the game. But at the same time I am now going to log off the Intarwebz and go hug my kid.
Very impressive trailer thanks for bringing it to our attention, it was moving, something rare from most media let alone a game trailer. I thought the music was perfect for underpinning the point that before there was a zombie there was a life lived and loved. I can't imagine any game living up to that so I'll leave the game alone and just take the trailer as a short film unto itself., enjoying it (if that's the right words) for what it is.

The trailer is very well done, even if it is ripping off Cibo Mato's video for Sugar Water, stylistically.
And god knows, I love me some zombies.
That said, the zombie genre is getting over-saturated. Between Left for Dead 2, Dead Rising 2, Dead Space 2, as well as all the zombie related indie games, there's not much left to be seen. There's only so many ways you can take an axe to a zombie's head before it starts getting stale.
I wish them the best, but I'm not gonna hold my breath for anything amazing.

The answer is 42 you idiot!
Yeah, from the pictures, I'm not even going to watch that <.<

I absolutely loved the trailer, was very nicely done.

This is my fave edit of it. Makes it even more powerful after the original trailer imo.

That trailer is so good that the game can only disappoint in comparison.
Last trailer that I found this impressive was the Gears of Wars 'Mad World' trailer, same saddening atmosphere.

Well done trailer, the feel was very raw.
After watching this, I had to call my daughter just to tell her I love her.
