I had high hopes for the pvp in this game.... i guess ill have to wait another year or two for a good pvp game
Or you could stop expecting a PvE game to become a PvP game, and go play a PvP game. I can tell you GW is balanced and is a PvP game.
On the subject of the OP, i also felt it was a little more then crowded by mobs when I was playing, but then i heard that trion had turned up the juice so that everyone could complete the quests without waiting to long. im a super casual player, hit lvl 21 still in freemarch wrapping up the last few quests. it feels like everything has slowed down a bit, maybe trion is still tweaking the spawn rate based on the amount of players.

No i can read just fine. you said "I had high hopes for THE pvp IN this game..." so let do this "I had high hopes for THE pvp IN this PvE game that has stated its focus isnt going to be PvP..." now apply my comment.
The sooner everyone realizes that trion made a PvE game and added PvP just for something else to do, the better off you'll be. they did the exact opposite of Arenanet, who focused on PvP with the PvE being the side show.

Main thing I am quickly beginning to dislike is literally having to fight every inch of the way to get to a objective.Yes I understand you shouldn't be able to run direct in and run back out but it gets abit old havin to literally walk 3 paces and have to kill a mob then get to your quest objective turn around and have to fight your way back out every step of the way,What makes it worse is alot of places will send you back to the same area 3-4 times so like in gloomwood your literally going back and fightin your way in and out multiple times.
Combine that with not being able to ride by anything hardly without being knocked off your mount it gets abit tedious.When questing turns into a well its easier to just die here and rez and pay for the mend than it is to travel back out it tells me something is bad wrong.
Yup, that means you as a player are just WAY too lazy to play any game other than WoW. Not bashing on WoW either, its just the only game out there that 100% caters to EZ mode even on general questing. People can call Rift a WoW clone all they want, but the truth remains, WoW is still 200 times easier than Rift, well....because you just can't get any easier than WoW.
Oh yeah and defiants dont have the Gloomwood problem by the way, just a thought for ya.

Rift is so easy that I've created an unarmed beastmaster/reaver/champion, still wearing her newbie armor (currently level 15) just to make the game more of a challenge. Breezing through mobs with no chance of death just isn't fun.

Ok watched the video, i've seen some of the video in other videos. I cant comment on any of the lvl 50 content as i am not 50 yet, but even i have to laugh at the comment that its dynamic, of course its dynamic its PvP, every player is different making it dynamic no matter what. So ill take what you say and agree that better can mean many things, what i will protest against, if i have to, is class balancing for PvP. i will not tolerate my class being nerfed for PvP then tweaked, then nerfed, so by the time i do hit 50 im not even the same player as i was at lvl 13.
I have all ready noticed that the energy regen on my rogue has been slowed. im parried to the brink of complete frustration, using a ranged weapon. this is with the 3 talent points in +hit. and i have to guess its because of PvP. i remember reading somewhere that there was no +crit on lower end bosses but i cant believe that they would add such a high rate of parry to a boss either, yet im parried way to much even in PvE.
So i'll say again yes, some things can be done better, one is stop listening to whiners QQing about how someone is OP, the only thing i've read that is OP, is the mana drain. it isnt right to take away the only thing a caster has to use for offense or defense. so if they are giong to keep that in game then they need to up the amount a mana one has, which changes the way PvE is done, unbalancing Dngns and Raids.
so again, i do not want to see a class nerfed just to fit someone's idea of what they think PvP should be. and again to those that wish this game to be a pro PvP game, go play GW its a balanced PvP game. if you want more content, well i'll even /sign to that, just to give me more todo when i dont want to quest that day.
To the OP: IF this is your main complain about the game I think you are in a pretty good spot then. This is such a small miniscule problem in the game that I wouldn't even waste time posting aobut it, especially making a new thread about it. Sure, it does get frustrating to get knocked off the mount but if it didn't happen then we wouldn't appreciate getting around quicker in generel. Rift can't just let you walk or run right thorugh mobs without anything happening. That would not make sense and it would be too easy to get to and fro. It should be a little difficult to get to an areas surrounded by mobs. Why would you want to make that go away? Perhaps you are trying to find a way to make the game easier for you? I'm not sure, but all in all, this is a good sign if this is all you are compalinng about..

Rogues and clerics don't have to fight everything.
Stealth through it or heal/sheild through it.
I suppose a decent dominator might be able to CC through stuff.
