I consider myself to be a casual weekend gamer. I play an average of 8 to 15 hours a week. I hit level cap with my first character this last week.
At level 50 the world opens up to you in this game.
All the warfronts are open and everyone is on the same level of play except for gear. So PvP becomes a game of tactics and knowing your spec and your pre-made group's specs and how they work best together and coordinated attacks and defenses. This turns PvP up to 10 compared to previous games I have played and is alot of fun. PvP endgame is all about the prestige and favor that gets you soul unlocks and sweet gear upgrades. Totally worth buying the game for this content alone.
Then there is the PvE endgame. OMG....this stuff is pretty brutal (challenging). Expert dungeons are no joke and the mobs hit like trucks. Have to really be on your A-game to get thru these dungeons. I have been in a few world raids which were also alot of fun. Our guild is just now starting to get several 50th level characters so we will start working towards the better gears. It will be great to start getting some of the toughness gears and other fun purple gears.
Crafting. I am almost maxxed on my crafting style and there are daily quests which you can get epic patterns on. These epic patterns are quite worth getting and push your crafting skills to another level. Also I have found that epic patterns drop in the expert dungeons and such so that's another source for making money and making great gears.
Life is good at the top and only getting better. Still tinkering away with my different souls and my 4 rolls.
Two thumbs up for Trion and Rift!!!

This sounds exactly iike WoW.
With slight differences, yes, he pretty much did describe WoW.
.. But in a good way.
Riftsoldier, what are you, 5?
Stop opening this lame threads, because more and more people will report you for advertising.
Why do you think this forum's population is dumb?
There are a few loud and negative people on this forum. They seem to think that negative posts are threads are the only ones allowed. Why are you so negative WraithHunter. The "are you 5" comment....I expect better from a regular forum grinch. If negative threads are allowed then positive ones are allowed as well. Thanks for trying to shut down the voice of reason kid....try again.
I said it recently in a different thread but I'll say it again:
There at 19 unstickied threads, only 3 of those are remotely negative. One of those 3 is locked. One of them is "Have you left Rift yet" and is entirely unbiased. The other is a truly negative "I didn't like Rift, don't buy it" thread.
Yes, there are allowed to be negative things said about your game. Yes, you are borderline advertising in most of your posts.
.. But in a good way.
It is, and WoW actually does it better.
I just do not see how you are more of a voice of reason than any of the haters and trolls. Just different sides of the same coin. Its all garbage.
Troll is a troll first 9 threads i see: Game is Horrible, Skip it. I did not see this coming, RIFT Got a high rating, why? [Mod Edit], , What level did you get bored with Rift?,. Theres 4 int he first 9 postts of quickview k thnx
@ the trolls bashing rift. go away, im sure you can find other ways to find a way to ruin good experence threads.
I on the other hand dont consider his post 'advertisement' I mean holy crap every post good or bad is a review, he is reviewing HIS experence, in HIS thread. So back off.
I dont play rift, or any other mmorpg at, i play Minecraft tho. As a 10+ year mmo vet, all i have to say is. Thanks for the positive review, it was a fun read, and could influence people to play if they were trying to decide what is good about the game. Altho in a thread about endgame, there really wasnt much said about the instances for the purple gear, i would like to hear more about those aspects, then talk about crafting and other stuff that can be done at low lvl 1 - 10, i wanna hear about the 50 lvl content, only next review or if you could expand on your view rift, i have a friend who hit 50 this week and hes having a blast, altho he doesnt really do any endgame yet with his guild.
Short Point--leave op alone trolls, tell us more about lvl 50 endgame, that requires you to be 50 and maby have friends to complete this content.
I hardly ever log in to post, but when i do, its normally to defend people getting troll'd by people who just go into other peopls threads to cause disturbences.
Have a nice day rift cant wait to hear about your next post
RIFTs PVP is better than WoW which doesnt say much. The Soul system is miles ahead of WoW. RIFTS graphics are alot better than WoW for those who like more eye candy.
WoW does have better PVE, I will give you that, but really nothing else
Isibella, I do have a lvl 50 char in Rift. I just stopped playing after that. But this is not the point. I am not bashing Riftsoldier (what an apropriate nick for a non-combative supporter) on his single thread. My problem is that he opens a load of these threads, and then fanboys start telling me that 90% of the Rift threads are positive.
OFCOURSE they are, they are started by the same freaking person!
Isibella: hardly ever log in to post, but when i do, its normally to defend people getting troll'd by people who just go into other peopls threads to cause disturbences.
So.. you do this defending stuff hardly? Your only 2 posts are today (one is not even there anymore), 2 minutes appart, so please excuse my lack of confidence in your words
You realise that this means I was only one off, right? 4 out of 19. We'll call it even since one is locked and will inevitably roll off the front page.
Valid point is still valid.
.. But in a good way.
I've never seen anyone say anything favorable about Rift's PVP. PVP'ers were the first to jump ship.
It was pretty clear up front: You can't balance that many possible specs as freeform as it is. There will always be clearly op builds, but Rift seems to be further from pvp balanced than PVP'ers expected. WoW's, epecially Cata's, is a lot more controlled and they've spent years pursuing balance at the cost of PVE'ers fun.
(Or, you're playing an OP spec, and enjoying steamrolling the competition--which is fine, OP setups are always fun for a time, and then you realize there's no kryptonite anywhere on the planet).
Spec'ing properly is a gateway drug.
12 Million People have been meter spammed in heroics.
Going to call shenanigans on Rift having better PvP. WFs are identical except for the level-scaling system Rift implemented from Warhammer, allowing a level 10 to enter into a 10-19 and not be entirely useless. Other than that, there are simply less options in Rift. WoW has Arenas and rated BGs for a more organized zerg.
The soul system is better than WoW's generic class system. Rift's graphics are better than WoW's but worse than other MMO's with erratic performance across different machines. I'm well ahead of the recommended specs but can't get past 20 fps on Low. I also get 20 fps on High.
.. But in a good way.
But unless you are the "yin" to his "yang", the point of your negativity serves no purpose other than to drum up support for your opinion or to satisfy your own agenda. If it's the former, you can alway start your own thread to counter his. And if it's the latter, you can always find other things that are more satisfactory for you, no?
But it seems like you will be following this poster around for a long time. Oh well if that's your angle...
OT: Glad you found Rift's endgame enjoyable. I wanted to check this game out myself as well, but it seems like from your experience I've done that before. Good luck in your endeavor anyway, enjoy it while you can.
"Small minds talk about people, average minds talk about events, great minds talk about ideas."
I dont undertsand why someone whop doesnt like a game constantly goes around and posts his dislike under every thread lol its a complete waste of time and quite hillarious
Agenda? We are still talking about a game, right? Or some intricate anti-Rift conspiracy spawned from the mind of some malevolent shadow group?
And no, I don't start threads, I don't think I have a good reason to do it. I didn't start a thread in all my time on these forums.
But my opionions are still allowed, aren't they?
Sure they are. Just as much as Riftsoldier's right? But to show such low regards for someone else's opinion coming from someone who admitted to never having stepped up to the plate and created a topic is rather ballsy dontcha think?
Either way, we've hijacked this thread long enough with our discussion. Back on topic shall we?
"Small minds talk about people, average minds talk about events, great minds talk about ideas."
I disagree.
To me end-game is repetative and boring. Log in, do daily crafting quest, do daily rep quests, do daily world event quests, then do daily dungeon quests, do daily PvP quest, log out and do the same thing tomorrow.
I dunno sounds to me like you just described almost every MMORPG's endgame =P
Nothing new..
Most people go through life pretending to be a boss. I go through life pretending I'm not.
Fool's day was on the 1st.
everybodies so self-righteous in this thread -.-
Most people go through life pretending to be a boss. I go through life pretending I'm not.
Non-PVP Things to do at level 50:
1) Repeatable quests for faction for a few key items/enchantments that come at glorious. Unfortunately they changed these from giving say 1000 faction per quest to 300 -- but you will get there in a few months if you spend a few hours at them per day.
2) Crafting quests that use many plat worth of materials for an approximately 2% chance at getting 1 plaque where you need 3 plaques for the recipie that you want. If you are really lucky you might be able to make something good but not great that will make you rich. If you are unlucky you will spend plat every day or hunt the materials on a level 50 alt and never get a plaque.
3) Doing harder dungeon varieties of the dungeons you did levelling up. Oh -- and they lowered the plaque rewards for completion from 15 to 4 and made it so the items cost a lot more each. Hope you are lucky on drops. Expect to run the same dungeon over and over many times before you can....
4) Do the raid. I didnt have enough toughness on my character to actually do the raid so I cant say here.
5) Do the 5 man expert rifts. Wait for the questor to pop up for half an hour then do the task (oh and they lowered the number so it will take you a LOT longer than before) to get the ability to summon the rift then collect some of your fellows and hope it isnt bugged. If not then you can do the harder rift than normal over a long time for lower rewards than an expert dungeon.
6) Farm the one spot that has level 52 world monsters hoping for level 50 world drops -- assuming nobody is there already.
7) Run around the world looking for artifacts to get more collections done. Unfortunately the rewards are all fluff and you probably have an epic mount already.
8) Troll the auction house. Sometimes purples do get placed here of a useful variety.
9) Hope and pray that they do not nerf your character such that he will be worse after the nerf even if you had the best equipment etc than you were before the nerf.
*rolls eyes*
Post something positive about a game, and you're a shill.
Post something negative about a game, and you're a hater.
Polarization is destructive.
Voice of reason, FTW.
Glad you're enjoying the game , OP
If WoW does it better, that's kind of sad, becasue we all know WoW has terrible PvP and crafting, and it's "raiding" is the most casual raiding there is.
