Please dont bash on me i love Guild Wars but:

I ve heard that there wont be mounts on the game i wanted to say that they took all the time to make such a great game and in the end there wont be Mounts/Flying Mounts i know guild wars dont have mount but a fast teleport system but hey if u take the time to create a game like guild wars 2 at least put some mount (for these who loves to collect mounts).

Cool. If you want mounts, go play World of Warcraft, Guild Wars is mainly a PvP game. ( Hence Guild Wars name )

In my personal opinion only I'll note that mounts are completely useless if you have a teleport system in place and decent movement speeds to begin with*, so all a mount would be is a status symbol. Adding collectible status symbols to a game only serves to segregate the audience and leads to annoying, braggy people.

There's no purpose for mounts in the game, and the only other reason why they would be there is detrimental to the game itself, so I'm glad they're not there.

    * - All characters can run! You can be happy with that, you don't need a mount, and if you play a Charr you get to run on all fours, you can be your own mount!

    No.

Guild Wars has never been about mounts, and the way the game world is constructed they are not needed or wanted. I can't see why GW2 should be any different. If mounts are a huge concern for you the GW series is not for you anyway. Also, there are a plethora of games out there with mounts for you to choose from.

Hmm, well considering that mounts are used for faster travel, there really is no logical point to having mounts.  I would rather they spend time making more substantial additions to the game then something that has absolutely no point, you know, other than "I'm a collector"

There is perfectly good reason to have mounts in this game... People want them.

If they put in every single feature that people want it would be a convulated mess that would never get released.

People also want magic I-Win buttons for PvP. Should we give them those too on that basis? >_>

No matter what you name, there are people who want it in an MMO, from permadeath to young girls with panty shots.

I'd rather they decide what they want to put in on their own, and make the game they want to make, not the game specifically designed to pander to what other people want.

Also, I hope if they do mounts, they'll actually have a purpose, behaving differently in combat, with different skills.

Sort of like how they're doing underwater...

Since there's no purpose to having mounts for speed apparently, having them combat based would be better... but that would require more balancing, so I could see that being in an expansion, or later on.

While that doesn't really work, you can be my mount when I'm on an Asuran character. I will gladly enslave a charr for this.

I agree. Going for an open world this time around but still sticking with the old teleporting everywhere concept is disappointing to me. I like to ride around through open vastness on a mount and be in control of my own transport. It adds a ton of realisms and immerzhuns.

I wonder how the world's layout will be in regard to this: maybe its so packed ful of content and mobs that traveling long stretches with a mount wouldn't even be a desirable option. That would be a GW1 aspect too: having to fight your way towards new locations, so maybe not so far fetched. A world like that would explain having no mounts and the teleporting gallore.

I'd rather have lightsabers than mounts IMO...

and don't tell me that doesn't make sense, the Asura could SSOOOOOO do it.

that in of it's self isn't a good reason; devs have to balance demand with their resources and it aeems pretty obvious that as long as there is some form of fast travel that the people who won't play/like the game due to lack of mounts is an insignificant minority.

    *SPLUTCH!*

Oh! Whoops! Did I accidentally run you over with my steamroller-twixt-tank-of-doom? Sorry! I didn't see you there! You Asura are so tiny, after all! D:

I don't see why some people are so dead set against mounts.  Just don't allow them in PvP areas and it shouldn't really matter.   The different races in Guild Wars 2 are very interesting and it'd be cool to see what mounts each race would have.

Why should ANet implement such an elementary feature in a fantasy mmo?

Well for someone who is concerned with the story being seen in the game....it would be a step backwards to have mounts in Guild Wars.  You'd literally have to have one every where you portalled to.  More importantly, why would races waste time breaking in PONIES ( ;D ) when they could just teleport anywhere instantly?  It may be an over simplification but these two concepts together would show that having mounts would be illogical in the guild wars world.

*Cough* I don't see why some people are so dead set ON mounts. There are hundreds of MMORPGs out there WITH mounts.

As has already been stated before, GW2 will have no logical reason for having mounts.

If you love collectibles, perhaps you could collect the minipets they're likely to have in the game?  Or maybe Ranger pets are more to your liking?  Cool armor?  Weapons?  I think there will be plenty of things to collect and show off.  Mounts might be kinda cool, but are completely unnecessary.

You want me to pay to play a game I already paid for???

    Be afraid.....The dragons are HERE!

I don't see anyone dead set against mounts; I mean I don't think that anyone isn't going to play the game if they have mounts. People just think it's a waste of dev time becuase it's not needed.

Given the differences between GW1 and GW2, will teleporting really be as prevalent in the new game?  I haven't really heard that it would, but I've haven't been following it too closely of late.

I was thinking that the amount of teleporting would be different in GW2.

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.

Who cares about the mounts. I hope the devs will spend time on improving the game even furter then it already has been announced.

If teleporting is REALLY so prevalent as to make mounts completely unnecessary, I think that's the part that is going to upset the masses much more than simply the lack of mounts... Essentially that just makes this a lobby game.
