Baseball does NOT suck, and yes I am already out lol.
From all the info available so far, this time GW2 is definitely going for PvE focus. I am convinced of that. For those GW players looking for great PvP in a new GW unfortunately you all got left out of the loop I fear. There is going to be PvP in GW2 but only time will tell of it is better or up to expectations of what was had in GW.
For the reasons I stated above I am not planing on purchasing GW2, however I am watching it to see how it rolls out, how it all ends up. Perhaps I will be wrong, and perhaps the PvP will be as good as you hope as well.

Agree with ur point tho, but still afraid a bit that they will focus on pve to much and pvp won't be that great.

They already stated that WvWvW will be huge and that team based PVP will be there too for the players that want balanced team PVP. The combat system again is designed with PVP in mind. So its not PVE or PVP. Its PVE AND PVP. With PVP not as afterthought. They are just focussing on PVE to make clear that it wont be the same instanced MMO lite again.
The difference now is that they will create enough content to call it a MMO. If you ever played GW1, you could already see in that game that PVE was created with great care. The main missions in later regions in all chapters were actually challenging PVE (before introduction of heroes anyway).

You don't follow many MMOs before release i take it? The info is almost always heavily PvE in beta because the core foundation of content is PvE based and PvE doesn't really change much so the info doesn't go out of date. Nothing about GW2 suggests that it is a PvE first game so far. I'm sure they know the market, it will be a hybrid game because they don't to be a niche product.
Most people that say GW2 isn't going to have good PvP are basing their opinions on three things:
- a lot of PvE info and almost no PvP info
- lack of a healing class (no trinity) somehow makes PvP pointless
- no ffa PvP
Let me say a few things..
- We all know PvP sucks if the devs don't balance every class just right, meaning balancing takes a huge amount of time, therefore theres no point in releasing PvP info if it's not ready.
- For once, think outside of the old trinity concept. It's not the only way to do PvP. You may be concerned and thats totally fine. But don't bash it with no good reason. I've read an interview where the guy said Anet hired him and some other people because they were some of the best PvP players in GW1 and wanted them to help Anet make the best PvP possible. How is that not encouraging?
- Skills in PvE are different than in PvP so changes on one side don't affect the other.
- If you want to build up a lot of hype, save the best for last. It's called good marketing.
The only thing I agree on is the lack of ffa PvP, but that is a design decision and has nothing to do with good/bad PvP. It's just a different type that caters to different people.
That said, PvP in GW2 could still suck, but for now there is NO REASON to think that's the case. According to the info we have, I'd say it's quite the opposite.
- lack of a healing class (no trinity) somehow makes PvP pointless
This is a false statement. Some of the best pvp game have no healer nor trinity, that doesn't mean healing isn't important in pvp quiet the contrary, it just mean the healing won't be always made by the same guy in your party (the guy with the healing class), it just mean anyone in "defensive mode" can heal/resurect.
If anything else it make pvp more interesting since the encounter will not end once the healer is down/occupied.
