WoW now UTTERLY unplayable.

Kamandi777Kamandi777 Member UncommonPosts: 223

I haven't played since right after the expansion but I logged on a few times this weekend.  I thought I had a system for playing WoW, but even that has been compromised by the devs.   I see people with heirloom helmets and cloaks.  I look them up on wowhead and find they require GUILD PARTICIPATION.  Just another way the devs are corraling people into play styles we may not like.  Guilds blow, unless you like being codified and rated by others with standards imposed by a 14 year old bedwetting virgin "who knows the fights".  I pride myself in not knowing the fights.  The last thing I want to do is raid.  But if I want the new heirlooms guess what?  I have to raid...IN A GUILD.

30 minutes Queues for everything.

Broke out my priest.  I tried to heal a level 84 instance and was oom the whole time.  Yes I stacked spirit out the wazooo!

I went as a dps and watched the same stupidity WoW is famous for. Hunters whose only goal in life is to tank.  Rogues who die every pull.  NEED NEED NEED!

EVEN THE BATTLEGROUNDS demand what amounts to Arena Team or Guild participation.

Totally unplayable for someone like me who will not conform to anyones standards or be part of a hierarchy like a guild.

I just want to pwn, but the devs think I should not.

Sounds like you've forgotten how to play rather then the game being unplayable.

Not all guilds are going to weigh and measure you. There are great guilds out there that are more about the family of the guild over coming "up to this line" to play.

That section alone kind of buried your chance of support on these forums. Had you just stuck to the game being about gearscore and stats, you would have had plenty rallying behind you.

OK I will edit this so you can get it.

    Qs way to long.

    Solo play not fully supported.

Guild membership has perks solo players cannot receive.

Even battlegrounds are now guild/team focused.

    Unacceptable.

I seek no support.  Kinda the whole point of the post.

Actually I'm for having game play that solo players can't get unless they join a group.

And I'm a pretty die hard solo player.

That is completley acceptable. Saying that any solo player should be able to get the same perks/gear as a group player sort of devalues being in a group or a guild.

I'll add that i don't believe in different types of gear and that making "raid gear" or "pvp gear" segregates the player base. It makes it so you can't just be asked to join but you have to have done special things in order to join. That's ridiculous.

But if the game is a gear game then I see no reason that certain gear requires certain types of participation.

Well no game I know of allows you to become epic on your own. WoW is the easiest game to become epic. Takes no skill or effort. My opinion

I don't  read any irony in this.  The last raid I went to had a reedy voiced 14 year old lording over his "subjects" (guild members) dispensing loot and insults, his mom was his assistant who cajoled members more than he did.  You would have thought they were directing a life saving operation in Japan, not a raid in a game.

Please show me the irony.  I have taken Advanced Composition and Intro to Critcism, both 300 level English classes.., and I see no irony.

I think I'm being trolled here, but on the off chance OP is serious...

REALLY? Because you pay a monthly subscription, you're entitled to everything the game offers? Just... wow. And not "wow" like "WoW", but... wow. OP's opinion on a serious level imo is the bane of mmo's. It's horrible, "to make sales they cater to people who refuse to be involved and just want things handed to them". It really makes me sad. Maybe you'd like a nice fps.

I don't want to be epic.

I want to pvp and earn points on my skills not anyone elses.  I don't want pvp to be linked to pve.

I don't want to part of a hierarchy.

I don't want to be managed.

I don't want to be judged by anything else other than my hks.

So a mulitplayer game has a lot of multiplayer aspects and thats unacceptable to you?

Go play a single player game if you don't like playing with other people.  MMO's are about community, co-oporative and competative game play with a massive amount of players.

If you are suggesting that we as a community should accept games that focus mostly on solo gameplay aspects, well sir, THAT is unacceptable.

    3 Cheers for group play.

because you lambaste 14 year olds but still use the sentence "I just want to pwn..." I'm pretty sure I know 13 year olds who wouldn't use that term.

In any case, regardless of my quibble with your choice of words, that's a horrible experience. I still stand by my statment that not all guilds are like this and if you did a bit of research you would find a good guild.

Of course, the issue with finding a good guild is that you have to also be a good guild member.

WoW doesn't support solo play because... you don't have access to heirloom items without being in a guild?

It's also funny to think that one would want to solo his way to 85 as quickly as possible (through heirloom items)... What would one who thinks guilds are for virgin teenagers do at end game anyway?

Pwn...it is the venacular.  It is what people say in an MMO.  I would would kill for my first guild...but thay are long departed.  They blew up after Wrath...they saw the light.  I just can't play EVE.

So if you KNOW this would be deleted on the offical WoW community forums what makes you think its an appropriate topic for this forum, let alone that any WoW dev's read these forums, let alone that it would have any effect at all on any game what so ever what we discuss here.

They made their game the way they wanted to make it, everything they do is very intentional, to suggest that you can change their mind by whimsically stating what YOU would have done, well thats just silly.

You and players like you are the reasons MMOs suck so much lately.

SO you are complaining that this "meta" game that you invented isn't as easy to do now that they introduced Heirloom items you have to be in a guild to get eh?

I think they did this to Prevent exactly what you are complaining they are preventing, they don't WANT twinks, they don't WANT people who CANT play fair to be PVPing constantly and ruining everyone elses fun.  They don't WANT to support the kind of gameplay you like (cough I pwn noobs pvp).

Complaining that a "meta" game that isn't even intended to exsist by Blizzard is broken and thereby ruins your gameplay experience is literally insane.

    Wow .. :-)

Well in that case... Are the old heirloom items still available? The 1-80 ones from WotLK? Have they put a requirement on those as well (or have they removed the old heirloom items)

Old ones still around, just they added in new ones with new requirements, helms and cloaks specifically.
