I recommend Team Fortress 2. It's class based, kinda cartoony graphics like WoW, lots of achievements and gear "upgrades", plus you can play the lone wolf and beat any other class playing as any class. Well, at least I can =p Tons of maps. No subscription costs. They even have a type of crafting for those that like it.

Lets put it this way bro. It's never going to happen. Because even if you could earn points to earn epic armor just through pvp and you wanted to do it solo, well. You are playing a MMO (Massivly Multiplayer Online) And if you tried to earn those points alone, a group of people would just gank the S**T out of you. Sorry, but MMOs take people who want to work together to achieve goals. If you want solo achievable goals go play a Console game or a FPS. MMOs arent for you.

10 asocial solo pvp guys will roflstomp your friendly social guild in warsong any day

Simply cause the asocial bunch will kick anyone not performing while the socials will keep the "fun" people

op fails though as its naturally impossible to truly solo anything effectice, if you dont like beeing ordered create your own clan or collect a list to play with. Truly soloing is a waste of time. Great things are seldom archieved by a single person in a hut, even if youre a genious you still need your supermarket

I can empathize with you.  I have pretty much the same issue.  I have a career, family (with kids), and some other hobbies.  I will join up with people I actually see on  weekly basis to play something (currently rifts).  However, there seems to be a point in the game where you must break into hardcore pvp, or dungeon raiding.  I simply look at it this way.  Do I want to stop doing other things career, family, other hobbies… in order to succeed in the  game, or do I want to succeed in other areas.  Its really about personal priorities, don’t be mad just evaluate, make a decision and move on.  If a game company wants to keep you, they’ll make something that fits more inline with what you want.  Frankly, I’m with you.  I would like the gear, but if I determine that it will break into my other priories and there is nothing else left to do… it’s been fun, but that’s the end…no more of my money goes into the game... at least until the next expansion or the next proverbial wow clone.  Sorry couldn’t help with the joke. Forgive me.

Sounds like you need a single player game. Atleast that way you wont have to talk to anyone else and you can suck as bad as you want to. Sorry to say but im glad there is more things for people that dont like to guild hop or actually commit themselves to team work.

Dude, play single player games.  Why do people like this even play MMO's?  You don't want to be in a multiplayer game, you don't want to play with others.  Get off MMO forums because it's people like you who make developers implement useless, boring solo content and go farther away from grouping mechanics than we already are.

Just transfer an 85 to a pvp server and camp the low level zones. That would seem to satisfy your preferred play style.

Isn't it obvious... MMOs cost money to make.  So in order to make money they cater to people who have money.  Not the jobless peeps that spend 16 hours playing the game.   That's why there has been an explosion of PTW, item stores, and solo content.  Frankly, I support the solo content.  PVP and group content would not be enough to make the game rich enough for me to spend money on it.  And I take issue with you demanding the OP "get off MMO forums".  Who do you think you are?  This isn't your forum and its not your mmo.  Stop being so self center and trying to bullying other people.

Guild leveling is one of the few things I really liked about this xpack. It gives a lot more importance on guild loyalty, something that I feel is lacking in many mmorpgs. You have your core of folks who stick together, and then you have those who will use you until the grass becomes greener.

I have been in guilds what I considered feeder guilds, and I have been in guilds that poached members from feeder guilds. It's not a good feeling on either side of the coin, for me at least. I am fortunate now that my guild is very solid, close, and well relatively small.

If more mmorpgs placed importance on guilds, we would most likely see better communities as well. Having major benefits of being in guilds also means that you can't go around being a complete idiot all of the time. If you start getting blacklisted from guilds because of your behavior, you will either need to learn to behave or go without certain benefits.

Guildlevels and similar things isn't exactly a new idea, EQ2 have had it for many years.

But forcing antisocial people to join guilds is not a great idea, it is hard enough to run a guild with people who actually want to be in a guild, to get people who hate the idea but feels that they must will only mess things up.

It should be rewarding to be in a guild, you get groups that you can tune before you go down the dungeon. you get friends who can help you, a guildhall, guildcrafters, people to PvP in Guild Vs guilds and similar things (generally speaking and not just about Wow) and that is all great.

But items and guild instances isn't good. It is rewarding enough to be in a guild without stuff like that.

Well i bet 10 asocial guys wouldn't do that to 10 Guildys of people who actually play good together. It would be a sad case for that 1 "asocial" player. I don't play WoW anyways so don't matter. Anyways my point is. MMOs are designed for the social, or least are suppose to be. its about people working together to complete objectives. If you don't want to play with people then why play a MMO? Single player games seem more this OP kind of game. Unless 1 day they make 1on1 arenas maybe that would help those kind of people. but that would be kinda unbalanced since there is a class that can always beat out the next

Not all guilds are like that. But as a you may know. WoW is here to make money. And if they have an idea that will make them money. That is what gets put into the game. I would assume that there is more people willing to conform to such gameplay requirements (why the hell should there be such requirements?) than there are people like you who would like just to play a fun game and run a dungeon.

I would suggest leave and join a different more fun game; if you haven't already.

Why are you playing MMOs if your only goal is to play solo the Entire time?

Go buy dragon age, some cheetos, and blinds to block out the sun coming in from your windows if you don't want to have any interaction with other people.

If you don't actually know: WoW is super solo friendly, not once will I have to work with someone 1-80. Of course if you still want to pay them $15/month, they offer you the option to waste time with others.

OP is right. This game reminds me of Metallica. Started out good, Black album was looking for radio play, and then "Load", which is where this game is now.

Please tell me you can appreciate the irony.

Not all guilds are going to weigh and measure you. There are great guilds out there that are more about the family of the guild over coming "up to this line" to play.

I don't  read any irony in this.  The last raid I went to had a reedy voiced 14 year old lording over his "subjects" (guild members) dispensing loot and insults, his mom was his assistant who cajoled members more than he did.  You would have thought they were directing a life saving operation in Japan, not a raid in a game.

Please show me the irony.  I have taken Advanced Composition and Intro to Critcism, both 300 level English classes.., and I see no irony.

    LOL so true!

I absolutely HATE raiding - it's simply the most time consuming boring thing ever created for a game. My beef with the gear thing for PVP is this: In order to get the top end gear - you have to do Rated BG's or Arena. I have no problem with this - but the thing that gets me is you can run heroics for Valor Points and trade those in for Conquest points to buy top tier PVP gear. However - there's no way to trade in honor points from BG's for Conquest points.

So - you can do PVE to get points to trade in for Conquest but not PVP. Does this make ANY sense?

Currently playing SWTOR and it's MUCH better than it was at launch.
