GM corruption?

A player recorded this video of receiving items and gold from GM Gradius. When Discord was confronted with it in IRC, he said he won't comment on it and suggested that the players move on.
(There is another part, and one more coming)
This seems to be legitimate enough proof for SV to take actions, such GM behavior should not be tolirated imho, specially considering SVs policy of non GM intervention.

... isn't Gradius's ingame name [GM]Gradius or something? maybe GM_Gradius... but it's not just 'gradius', that's player created....
I have a question. I don't know anything about mortal online. However in most games I play a gm is denoted special. I.E in LOTRO they have a "+" in front of there name. In EQ2 they have gm in their name. And special guild tags.
So the question I have is do the gm's in mo not have a special part to their name denoting them as gm or support staff, or guide.
The video does show a ton of stuff being traded, I just had to ask about the name status.

During one of my trials I had a gm help me and it did not say "GM" in front of his name while he was whispering me. And how did a Yellow noobie character get hundreds of gold in books?
Who is passing him thousands of gold?
I do not think you can make a player named a gm.
One more question How many times has Russian been banned from the game yet he still plays?
The fact is we don't know what is going on in this video other than what they are telling us over audio. We don't know the specifics behind this interaction at all. Hell, for all we know this could be happening on a test server.
The point for me is that I know 100% that there are many people who are dedicated to the destruction of this game. These individuals will use anything they can to discredit it and the people behind it. Because of this, I have a hard time taking 'evidence' like this at face value.

I mean.. this is either blatant GM corruption or showing that the duping has not been fixed...
Let's hold off on making any assumptions until we hear th eofficial response from Black Opal or Lord Henrick.

True, however if it simply was test server or another logical explanation, why would GM Discord try to silence the matter and suggest everyone to move on, instead of giving that logical explanation?
Can you kindly point out why it's so "obvious"?
Other than again taking the video's author at his word, how do we know that GM Discord tried to silence anything? I can't find anything about this anywhere except for in this thread and the youtube video... and both obviously exist for the sole purpose of discreding the game and it's creators.
Did people REALLY pay 90 bucks for this?

Again though, the video's author obviously had all the books and gold.. so either it was given to him... or he duped it. or somehow he earned all that in a few days playtime...which I believe is impossible.
So I will wait for the official word, but at this point it looks really bad either way.

Why would anyone continue to do business with this company is beyond me. I spent $75.00 USD to preorder the Limited Edition and have never received a working client on DVD/CD what I payed for. I refused to download 10 to 12 gigs seeing that I payed for the client on media. They also took away my 30 days play time I payed for.
This has been a corrupt outfit from the inception and will continue to be. Nothing that they do would surprise me.
Too bad their behavior has impact on other Indy companies as I would never preorder another game.

This is a ridiculous argument. Pretty much every MMO requires you to download huge patches after installing the game from the CD/DVD. The only thing different about MO is the fact that the game that was shipped on their CD/DVD did not properly patch itself to the working version of the game. I admit that this is a pretty poor show for a gaming company, but you have to remember that this is a group of indy developers with extremely limited resources. It does not indicate corruption...

This is no argument Sir. I am simply stating the facts. At release MO was over 10 gigs, I refused to download 10 gigs when I paid for the client on media. Of course I expected to download updates, patches expansions etc: The fact is that I spent $75.00 over 2 years ago, and have nothing to show for it.
When a company takes my money and does not fulfill my order that makes them thieves.
So I am not surprise about any shady things I read that might be happenning within the game.
PS. If you I had spent $40.00 for the download version you would have had a point. But i spent $75.00 for the client on media for various reasons.

As much as it may be an interesting topic, let's not go to much offtopic?
My point is there is not a single MMO in existence that provides the entire game on a CD/DVD. You ALWAYS have to download the majority of the game client before you can play it. So, by your argument here every MMO company are thieves because none of them provide the entire game in disk form.

When you post only a short segment of a conversation, it is easy to take things out of context.

After that is quiet down for a bit, with Darran again taking the issue up by asking Discord why he ignored his messages in the segment I pasted earlier.
I have omitted some unrelevant messages like people saying hi, hope that won't ruin context for you:) I would say that the issue is serious enough for an official statement, but apparently Discord thinks otherwise, that banning the player will solve the issue of GMs giving gold to the player.
