Heavily unbalanced = Rather generic. We can talk specifics if you want.
Specifics? Sure... the MOST unbalanced PVP game I have played. That better? Yes, even worse than WHO - but with the brightwizard dev in charge of things... it was kinda a given.
Too much CC = Right now we're in a middle ground of PvP. When patch 1.2 was introduced it brought diminishing returns on crowd control that lasted for 25 seconds. At the moment the diminishing returns on CC are on a 15 seconds immune cooldown. What that means is that CC is useful, but if people spam it, then the opposition will be immune when they most need it.
Step in the right direction, agreed.
Poor animation = Irrelevant to the actual PvP.
Hardly. Oh look, I died... scroll through combat log to see what happened = poor animations. Not able to tell easily what someone is casting = poor animations.
Power ups = So far they have removed the stacking damage and healing buff from the shards in Port Scion. The red orb buff is still in the game though.
Red orb is the main culprit.
Gear focused = This is not necessarily a bad thing. Other MMOs that tried to have gear that meant little were not so well received (AoC early days). This is not a game that you lose gear upon death, so it's safe to make them matter.
Yes it is, skill should be the deciding factor in PVP, not gear. And ughh.. AOC was heavily gear focused. Gem stacking anyone?
GOS is very much countered these days now that people have learned how. Pyros relying on GOS are dead pyros.
So they fixed one example, after what, two months? How that ability even made it into the game is beyond me.
Damage two high = There is only one class that the spike is out of proportions and that's the pyro. Other classes can under special conditions replicate some of that kind of spike with great gear but it's rare. Valor plays a huge role in survivability builds, but of course it allows damage classes to remain in the battlefield. Max valor mitigation is 35% and that's before any talent or gear mitigation (like armor) is accounted for. In the warfronts it is very obvious from a healer's perspective on who's having good PvP gear and who doesn't.
Tell that to all the people on the forums that have SS of being 1-2 shot by mages (no, not just pyros) when they have max valor.
Poor, limited, unoriginal wf matches = Subjective. I wish for more variation at this point and some more focus on open world objectives. However, I found the current warfronts more than adequate.
And subjectively it's bad, very bad. Grinding the same WF's at 50 that you've already done to death for the past 40 or so level's is hardly a decent 'pvp endgame'.
No meaningful RvR = Agree
And this IMO is the biggest downfall with the game.
Premades queue with pugs = Recent hotfix claims to have changed that but it still happens when queue times are long, so for not so populated server clusters I don't think we'll see much of a change as things are right now.
Good to hear, finally!
No death penalty = True, game is designed that way, right from the start. Nothing wrong with that. I'm not asking for perma death in a game that is not designed for it.
Neither am I. But all reward zero risk is getting pretty old now. Can't we take the training wheels off already?
World PvP = Replicated point connected to RvR.
Replicated answer re RVR.
etc etc.
I hope I was a bit more informative on the up to date status of Rift PvP.
See green.
TLDR: Rift PVP is still boring IMO. Primarily because endgame PVP consists of nothing but grinding meaningless instances for pvp points.
Well, you're trying to tackle two different areas and you put them under the same umbrella:
PvP mechanics
PvP environment
PvP mechanics have been improving constantly since launch. There are still a few sore points, but I expect them to get addressed eventually.
The PvP environment is another issue. Right now I have max reputation in all warfronts. I've played them a lot, mostly with random groups but also as part of premades lately. I suppose that I could use different warfronts and I would definitely like to see some objective driven open world PvP.
The latest hotfix brought some improvements in the warfronts. Some redesigning of the areas for some and some changes in the mechanics for others have improved things.
Black Garden is the least affected by the changes.
Codex has become a lot more hectic and it's a lot harder to lock a team in their spawn point now. I like it on how teams have to be on the ball constantly.
Whitefall Steppes has also become a bit more interesting without rogues zooming around with the shards. The warfront is still not perfect though, but can't quite put my finger on what's exactly wrong with it. Perhaps it's the stalemates when equally good teams hold both shards or when one team decides to go full out defence for the duration after a cap.
Port of Scion is a mixed bag right now. I've been in games where teams zoom to the commanders and kill them as fast as possible and I've been in games where both teams protect all their objectives and the game drag because noone has a decisive advantage over the other team (the games I like the most). Still, too many games finish with commander death, but then again if one team can't protect their commander with his help, I doubt they'd win anyway.
Regarding the animation, I didn't comment whether they are good or bad, because I still think it's irrelevant. Yes, environmental effects are important and seeing the stormcaller cloud or the hex on the ground so as to avoid it plays a part in PvP. But whether my cleric has 1 or 10 animations on how to swing his mace doesn't plays much of a role in the actual PvP.
Red orb as you say is a imbalance intensifier. For example, pyros have (imo) unreasonable high spike damage, and the effect is intensified with an orb that does not exist in the open world. I expect the effect to be toned down. Right now decent teams priorities on killing red orb dps holders. Healers holding the red orb are harder to kill though (hehe).
Skill does play a factor in PvP. Even in the big warfronts like Scion. When I scan the names of my adversaries I can tell you right away if we will have a fighting chance or not by the appearance or not of certain individuals. It is these people that do things that other think impossible and rage on the forums for class X nerfs.
I'll keep on PvPing and monitor the situation (well, at least until a new and more interesting MMORPG comes along).
This is how trivial almost any old school gamer feels about many of these mis-marketed $1B joy rides. Blizzard is now nearly the entire marketing arm of the genra'. The whole industry swaggers underneith it, it's uber pay scheem is stuffling people with visions.
If it were me, I'd rate game solely on their challenge..!
Here is how challenging rift is: My cousin controls his rifts bot over his phone. derp
So lets been honest, RIFT is not even a MMORPG, that is not a bad thing either. RIFT is the first Massive Online Action Game. There is no need to roleplay & nothing in the game foster's roleplaying, so it needs to be recognized for what RIFT is. It's arcade, fast and phun. It's is what most have been yearning for. RIFT acts like a real-time online RTS. Starcraft/AoE @ micro level.
You newbies (I am an old man) need to wake up and realize what they are mechanically selling you.
Armor sets?, epic quests?, etc.. all of that goes against tradition of roleplaying and pure sandbox. These developers make you do each quest and drool over the NEXT AWSOME piece of equipment you can get. Your circle of friend dictates how you achieve said goal, rinse and repeat.
Armor sets are what YOU... the end user, the player, the avatar, the character, the mind's eye, the fable... have endured upon ur look. So that your mismatched look told a unique story about you. Haphazard and mishappened, just like life.
So.. a very big lol @ ARMOR SETS <--
The business man (developers) do this (cheapen the game) because it is technically very easy to keep designing large-scale huanted houses for you people to funnel through. Your there because they led you to this node/pq, via another quest. Stringing you along.
Instead of spending the resources to allow for a more open game. (nutshell: quest nodes, armor sets, epics quests are all anti-sandbox logic, but they line the CEO's pockets with $millions. )
Example:
UO, AC, EQ all had THOUSANDS of pieces of armor, hardly ever did you see any 2 people wearing the same look. Most hardened adventurers wore miss-matched pieces, all with some story behind them.
WTF is an "Armor Set"..?
RIFT has been mismarketed on purpose, to attract an audience of younger transient youth, who wants in ur face gameplay. RIFT delivers that fast paced arcade action, but with a RTS element. Most just play BF for that.
Think on it... when a developer has to lead people along for the next set of something. uber shallow gameplay.. uber cheap to make. but oh.. so shallow! (tic tac toe? Lesson learned?)
Armor sets? OK.. I mean, once knew a Human (who roleplayed as a dwarve) in UO, that prides himself on his mastery & craftmanship. I once traded him my boat for the 2 of the best sets of armor he could make.. With a tad of rp'ing & camradarie he pass along my name to a few guilds, that I ended up outfitting them & their alliance with $10k+/week worth of gm arrows/bolts, etc.
I had massive income for months after that connection & had all of my banks stocked with reagents & all other supplies, but the point was I did things unrelated to PvE, or even PvP, but they were apart of my everyday life. I worked every day 4h~10h, resource gathering & fletching, all the while becomming a sinister foe due to my granmastery & constant friction in the wild.
Those fringe encounters are the ones that spawn the best & lasting friendhsips, or rivalries.
"No they are not charity. That is where the whales come in. (I play for free. Whales pays.) Devs get a business. That is how it works."
Bottom line, if you have something meaningful and relevant to add to the conversation, prove it by posting it, instead of throwing insults to people who's only "fault" is that they like a certain game.
Game discrimination is bad and you prove by the points above that your behaviour is not of an adult or a real gamer.
The OP should take into consideration that Rift is not a PVP game.
IMO this is actually a valid point. Just because they have PvP servers, WF and a small number of open world PvP objectives does not make this a PvP game by any means.
No more than WoW is a PvP game, or EQ2 is a pvp game because they have a few pvp servers.
Rift is a PvE game 1st and foremost, with most of the content based around PvE.
IMO its all a matter of perspective. If you go into Rift thinking it will be some awesome PvP game then you have already set yourself up for disapointment. If you go into Rift with the mindset of this is a PvE game with a little PvP thrown in on the side then your expectations are more in line with what the game actually is.
I am currently not subbed to rift, played it 2 months and decided it was not what I wanted to play, but never did I think the PvP was gonna be great just because they had WF and PVP servers.
The OP should take into consideration that Rift is not a PVP game.
Utter nonsense, the game has pvp content inc pvp servers, so he has every right to comment on his experience of pvp in Rift.
I also believe which is why i only lasted 3 weeks, that the pvp in Rift is dull, dull, dull. It is rubbish actually.
I agree, if any game introduces pvp zones and pvp servers, and you can also opt to do pvp on the pve servers as well, then they should do it properly. I'm loving playing the PVE Rift game. I fancy playing on a pvp server at some point but not if it's rubbish. I think games should either be totally pve or do pvp right. Pve games only seem to include pvp as an afterthought to drag in some more subs, but all they end up doing is pissing off the pvp crowd and making a dimension of the game bad.
Lots of outdated information on this thread, which is understandable, considering how agressively Trion is patching and tweaking their game.
Poor animation = Irrelevant to the actual PvP.
World PvP = Replicated point connected to RvR.
etc etc.
I hope I was a bit more informative on the up to date status of Rift PvP.
Actually, In PVP I would like to see the sword swinging instead of the tank running around me and no animation what so ever. My thoughts on a pvp game is:
1. No warfronts or instant BG *I notice to much /afk waitng for a wf or bg"
2. Open world PVP but maybe have safe areas like towns for each factions.
3. no PVP gear only gear you can craft or get from drops with the same stats for PVE but have open world PVP for the PVE quest or raid areas. No zoning the group in to a dungeon from other zones. You have to fight your way to the dungeon.
Since you dont want me to compare things to WoW, fine. I think many souls are flat out broke. They have no significant defensive capabilities and the offensive capabilities dont mesh well.
Some souls are so Crowd Control Heavy its laughable.... I mean there are only so many debuffs, and snares you can have before you think... how do I actually kill people? The dominator comes to mind.
...
Some souls and soul combinations are indeed better suited for PvP, the same manner that some souls are better suited for PvE. Also, what gives max damage in PvE does not translate well in PvP.
Crowd control should not be a major hindrance, not in the way it was when the game launched. I think they hit a sweet spot with the diminishing return on CC and the immune timer set to 15 secs. The teams who spam CC abilities now are the teams that lose.
Oh I agree, I have yet to play in a premade. And in non premades, everyone spams everything so I cant really control what other people do.
I just know it screws up my survivability.
A dominator, in my opinion is ridiculously bad in random WF's. In a controlled team environment they could be great. As I see it, its poorly made. Its ALL debuffs, snares and CC. The damage is horrible.
At this point that is my other concern-- most souls are not built well. Nearly Every class should be as well rounded as the pyro. As a pyro/chloro I have a shield that absorbs damage, an insta heal, a blink/flicker, an aoe stun, a single target stun, 1 root and 1 disarm.

I dont care if they have pvp servers or pve servers. It doesnt really make a difference. They have PvP in Warfronts whether you are on a pvp server or a pve server.
Whether someone is forced to pvp does not dictate whether a game is a PvE or PvP game. If there is NO PVP AT ALL, you can say its not a pvp game.
I can use your same argument and be just as ridiculous, wanna see? Here goes,
"RIFT is not a PVE game. Just because there are dungeons doesn't mean its a PVE game. If you come to RIFT expecting a PVE game that is highly polished, you are going to be sorely dissappointed."

ps-clerics are op
Are you in a guild? If you are you should try getting some of you're fellow members into vent and doing premades.. It's a whole nother ball game when you can actually do tactics and set up traps and ambushes.. Doing pugs is like playing with a bunch of headless chickens running around spamming god-who-knows-what..

I can say it nicer if you want, your reasoning doesnt make any sense.
If we were talking about cars, and more specifically a car we both liked, lets say its the Cadillac.
And the Cadillac STS is advertised to have good handling (Much like Rifts PvP) and I complain about the Caddies handling. "Well Caremuchless, it is NOT a sports car. So you cant expect it to handle like a sports car."
What I would expect is to get what is advertised and featured. PvP is featured. So I should expect it to be shitty?
On a separate note, RIFT has indeed taken many concepts from WoW--no I'm not saying its a ripoff or clone or any of that....what strikes me as particularly funny...frustrating maybe, if they are doing so many things that WoW has done right, then why cant they ALSO learn what WoW did right and wrong in PvP and learn from that too?
I don't hate TRION or RIFT. I cheered the game on. And whether I play or go, I still wish them success.
The mage class in this game, bleh---none of them have as much utility as the Frost Mage. The crowd control is weak and if it happens to be the one ability that last a while, the cast times are way too long.
You really haven't looked hard enough, mate. Key thing is that no single soul has as much CC as a single spec in WoW, because you bring three at once.

I agree that Rift has sub par PvP. I guess the difference is that I didnt expect it to be any better from the type of game that it is. Should it be better? I think it should.
Does what I think matter much in the overall scheme of things, the developers plans, of the direction the game will go? probably not much if any.
All I am really trying to get across is this. Dont get bent out of shape over the state of PvP in Rift. It is what it is, hopefully they will improve on it, but probably not. If you dont enjoy the PvE side of Rift and are in it strictly for PvP then you will be disappointed I think.
The last decent PvP game I personally enjoyed was DAoC. WoW, Rift, EQ2, ect ect were designed with PvP as an after thought. Therefore making them PvE games with a dash of PvP to pull in a few more subs. That in my mind makes them PvE games. Warhammer online tried to be a PvP game, and by my definition was a PvP game from the get go. The design was poor IMO, but at least it was designed to be PvP 1st and foremost with a little PvE thrown in.
Thats the difference as I see it, I am sure you see it different and thats OK. But raging on forums and calling peoples opinions who differ from yours non sense and ridiculous is absurd, especially when talking on this subject. Where you call it shitty, I call it sub par, and the next guy might think its the best PvP out there. Its all subjective.
Anyways, hope you have a good day as I am done with this topic
Rift's PvP is boring because it is the same gear grind that in the end is really pointless. Of course, the grind for gear endgame mechanic is pretty stale and pointless overall in my opinion
Because rift isn't PvP, doesn't mean it's not player verse player out there.. even in the form of content, etc. You are always competing against other players.
Why do you think so many people macro everything.. they want to do MoAr than you.
"No they are not charity. That is where the whales come in. (I play for free. Whales pays.) Devs get a business. That is how it works."
I thought the same thing. We setup a dedicated pre-made and then did WF's... two days later we were burnt out. Where's the fun in constantly decimating pug's? Where's the fun in 1000:0, 500:0 scores? Where's the challenge?
Besides my empty server, and dead world pvp... that was one of my biggest issues. WF's were usually so one sided there was no challenge or fun involved. Out of the hundreds of WF's I did I'd say there would only be handful that were actually intense/close.
Seeing the dev's are clearly too lazy to implement decent world PVP, and have already ruined it with absurd wf rewards anyway, they should make a pre-made vs pre-made wf queue where only the winning team gets rewarded but the rewards are higher than the usual pug wf's. Then maybe we will actually see challenging PVP, and PVP that isn't just an emotionless grind.
Rift is pretty boring. But in all honesty, what game will live up to our standards these days?
Us old school players live the DAOC and UO dream of PvP and nothing will ever touch our experiences in those games. For me it was UO where World PvP was all you had. There were bandits and carebears in the same world together and the people who played nice had to band together to defeat the jerks of the world that griefed people over and over.
There will never be another UO for me- ever. All games have been boring since that one for me. They capture my interest for a few months and then Im gone.
WoW and SWG were the others that captured my attention for awhile. Once SWG decided to make things easy for their player base and add holocrons, I knew the new direction they were going was easy street. So I left.
WoW was great until they added Battlegrounds and Honor Kills/Rewards. Had they left the BGs and instances out of that game, it would have been my second favorite. Because of their changes, its ranked 3rd choice for me and my playstyle.
Rift is an okay game. Is it dynamic? Nope. Did it add anything that I would love to see in another game? Nope. Nothing above and beyond, nothing addictive. It's just boring all around. The PvP is all I do World and Instanced and I have leveled ONLY from PvP to 50 and Im rank 3 now. Im casual these days and the game was easy to level and easy to master.
The PvP is pretty lame. Clerics are the epitome of ridiculousness. I cant stand fighting one. I have three stuns and I cant even come close to taking a Cleric out. I actually watched a Cleric in Stillmoor attack someone and take 5 guards on while he killed myself and the other guy he originally attacked. Seriously? A Cleric can take the blows of 2 50's (rank 3 here) and 5 guards? Something is wrong with the Clerics.
Because of Clerics, I have quit the game. Honestly. Call it whining, call it what you will, but Clerics have made the game lame to me. When a player can kill two 50s and take hits from 5 guards while doing so, there's an issue at hand. I know they will continually fix things like balance, but it's just not for me.
Other than that, the PvP is okay to say the least. The WFs are lame and the last WF you get is pretty lame too. I am not a big fan of WFs anyways, but when you have played WoW and you come here and see these mini-BGs, you are left feeling bored.
Its better than WAR though IMO. Definitely better than WAR- just not as good as WoW and I havent played WoW sicne the first year and a half after release.
I'd say the only decent pvp I've ever seen in any mmo was the world pvp that existed in the first couple of years or so after the release of World of Warcraft . I've not seen a lot of world pvp in RIFT but thats partly because it follow the WoW port to a dungeon or level by doing pvp instances model which kills world pvp . If I were to compare the instanced pvp games of say the Warhammer scenarios , Rift Warfronts and WoW battlegrounds .
I would say they all have thier pluses and minuses . I much prefer RIFTs whitefall steppes over Warsong Gulch with its larger map . The Codex and Arathi Basin are apples and pears to me kind of like them both equally . Warhammer had that nice scenario in the volcano which I enjoyed a lot cant think what its called now . Warcraft has Alterac valley which in my opinion is proberbly still one of the best pvp instances around even though it did used to be a lot better before Blizzard messed around with it . Of course WoW has the Arenas which I'm sure RIFT will mimic in some way in the future and proberbly do it better .
What RIFT has which make the pvp side more interesting for me is the true customisation of the classes which Blizzard robbed us of when they decided you had to spend that majority of you points in one tree . When it comes down to it I think it depends what you want .
At present there is no truly great pvp in any fantasy based mmo anywhere and there wont be untill you stop easy access to instances and leveling through Battlegrounds . It needs to get back into the world where it belongs . RIFTs a good home for the time being for me untill something better comes . I prefer the way Trion does buisness compared to Blizzard . I think they want to produce a great game where Blizzard want to milk a once great game for all its worth . Mythic sadly missed the boat and really should be considering F2play for Warhammer now which could turn it around .
As a last point if Blizzard brought back servers that offered the Vanilla WoW experiance I would definatly play on them . Best time I had in an mmo pvp wise and still as yet unmatched .
Yeah this feature would be nice.. Maybe they'll do so later? But yeah my servers pretty heavily populated so we get a good rotation of defiants to fight each time.. It's not always one sided but you do get those battles where you'll completley stomp the other team.. But that could happen in any MMO.
edit: Im surprised more people don't mention AION when it comes to pvp.. Sure, AION did 99.99% of it's stuff wrong.. And it was very annoying end game (miragents/fenrils.) But the pvp was awsome, especially the world pvp.. I havn't seen any MMO come out within the last 4years that took as many pvp risks as AION did.. Rifts, the abyss, actual consequences for getting killed by the other side, ganks, ect.. I remember the first time I rifted on AION my heart was racing, 8 ppl from my legion went into asmo's side and face rolled unsuspecting players.. At that time most didn't even know the Rifts exsisted as the game launched a few days ago lol.. The fort raids were also very awsome..
IMO AION did PvP right but did everything else wrong (crafting, dungeons, quests, grind, ect.) Then again i'am pretty easily pleased as i did Diablo 2's PVP for 8+ years without complaining.. And all that consisted of was ganking people as they stepped out of town lol

Hopefully! If they fix the balance issue, add premade queues, and make world PVP viable then i may give Rift another look (assuming i'm not playing GW2 that is).
As for Aion, yeah, I enjoyed the world PVP, especially Rifts. Rifting to the other side, then frantically trying to find somewhere 'safe' to hide your Kisk was great fun! As was hunting down invaders or trying to sneak by to find their kisk location. Aion's Rift's were sooooo much better than Rift's rifts lol.
If only they made rifts to the other sides high level zones, as it got a bit boring at higher levels as the majority of the time all you'd find is much lower levels.
Gear killed it for me though (failed twice on fenris and gave up), as did the lack of population (made rifting pointless). I personally found the Abyss to be pretty lame, especially on our server as the other side heavily outnumbered and outgeared us making fort raids pretty dull & pointless.
But yeah, I found Aion's PVP to be MUCH superior than rifts.
Because of Clerics, I have quit the game. Honestly. Call it whining, call it what you will, but Clerics have made the game lame to me. When a player can kill two 50s and take hits from 5 guards while doing so, there's an issue at hand. I know they will continually fix things like balance, but it's just not for me.
...
I playing a cleric in the game, the healing variety. I could give you advice on how to tackle us. Post patch 1.2 it is relatively easy for rogues to take on both clerics and mages (yes, even the former op pyros). You'll still have a hard time tackling a healing cleric who is higher rank than you and is outgearing you, but as things are now it is more than doable. In order to take him down you'll need a weapon comparable to his gear. In other words, if he's T3 PvP geared, you'll need a T2+ weapon minimum or you'll not be doing significant damage.
Here I am doing it again, giving advice to people on how to kill me, but oh well ...
If he's an offensively build things are easier to finish this fast. If he's having Justicar buffs, he's hybrid and your best bet to take him down is by using an MM build and eradicate his buffs. If he's not, Assassin will work as well, especially vs Inquisitor or Cabalist. The melee builds might give you problems if he's outgearing you so try to stack as much damage as possible while you have him stunned and vanish and reapply poisons as many times as necessary.
If he's a healer, the fight will prolongue but he'll be losing it. Now here's the trick. If he is a Warden, going vs him with any melee build is useless. You'll hit a hps wall you probably won't be able to overcome, especially if he's overgearing you. Warden build and HoTs equals Marksman and eradicate. Funnily enough, he'll be a lot easier to kill than the other types of healing builds, but only as a Marksman. If he is not a primarily Warden build, then Marksman might not do the trick, as he'll probably not be buff dependant. In this case a heavy healing reduction build will work, but he'll be able to prolongue the fight depending on your damage output and how many cooldowns and mana he has available.
It is not easy to take down a healing cleric in this game 1vs1, but it is doable given enough time and decent weapons. Hybrids are more resilient but prone to death if stunned since they can't recover fast enough from the added damage. Other builds are as easy to kill as mages.
I hope I helped a bit and gave you some ideas on how to tackle different situations. Yes, it requires knowledge of the game and knowledge of the different class mechanics, but I will assume that you have it, otherwise ranking in PvP is pointless.

Hasn't anyone remembered the insightful words of Professor Falcon's WOPr supercomputer...?
Tic tac toe, etc..

Utter nonsense, the game has pvp content inc pvp servers, so he has every right to comment on his experience of pvp in Rift.
I also believe which is why i only lasted 3 weeks, that the pvp in Rift is dull, dull, dull. It is rubbish actually.
Question is MO like this, I have not tried it?
Oh I agree, I have yet to play in a premade. And in non premades, everyone spams everything so I cant really control what other people do.
I just know it screws up my survivability.
A dominator, in my opinion is ridiculously bad in random WF's. In a controlled team environment they could be great. As I see it, its poorly made. Its ALL debuffs, snares and CC. The damage is horrible.
At this point that is my other concern-- most souls are not built well. Nearly Every class should be as well rounded as the pyro. As a pyro/chloro I have a shield that absorbs damage, an insta heal, a blink/flicker, an aoe stun, a single target stun, 1 root and 1 disarm.
ps-clerics are op
What nonsense!

I gave my opinion of what I thought. Calling someone elses opinion ridiculous and non sense is in itself nonsense. Dont get bent out of shape when opinions differ from yours sir, thats why it is an opinion.
In my OPINION Rift is a PvE game from start to finish with a little PvP thrown in to satisfy the PvP crowd. Your OPINION may differ.
See how that works?
{mod edit}

All MMORPG PvP is boring. Pick up a good shooter; something that requires raw skill and only raw skill to kill others with.
