None. If I were actually inclined to purchase Diablo 3 I would simply buy both games. Since I am not happy with the way the classes in D3 are going, and since my outlook on blizzard as a whole has soured the last two years, I have no current intentions of buying the game. Also since GW2 is looking to be a neat little game so far, and has no monthly fee, unless A-net does something unspeakably blasphemous to the game between now and release I'll be buying and playing the game reguardless of what other games I collect along the way.

i am buying gw2 no matter what... But my friends will want me to faceroll in diablo also... but never played diablo much. and only a story line person in gw1
GW2 for sure!!! I remember I tried Diablo 2 many years ago at my cousin and all I remember is the horrible graphics, UI, characters and confusing gameplay... The graphics were so ugly, I couldn't even tell the difference between the ground and a wall. XD So I never understood why people liked that game. O.o; (I can't understand why people like WoW either. xD I must have something against Blizzard games I guess, lol). I looked up Diablo 3 screenshots and it looks like this one won't be 3D either... I'm not a fan of 2D/2.5D games in the first place, so it's an automatic 'no' for me.
Guild Wars 2 will be a day 1 purchase for me (Guild Wars was the only other day 1 purchase I've made that I can think of), but I'm going to wait to see what my real life friends do with regards to Diablo 3.

D2 had great graphics in its time. the gameplay was actually fun and playing with friends just enhanced the experience for me.
While the games may be apples and oranges, I sure as hell won´t buy 2,3,4 good games at once, since I know I´ll play each of them halfhearted then.
I.e. IF Diablo 3 and GW2 also release in Nov 2011, then I have to choose between them or Skyrim (if PC=console), or Firefall (Nov 2011?), or Torchlight 2, or or.
All different games, but I won´t play them all at once, if at all.
diablo3 does not interest me one bit. i never wanted to play any of them. but for comparison reasons only, even if swtor and guildwars2, or any of the upcoming games, were released on the same day, i'd still buy guildwars2 before any other. the ironic thing is, im more of a starwars fan than anything else in the making. im just not a big fan of all the special skill abilities associated with sith and jedi in the games. if they made a 'starwars meets splinter cell' type game whenever the jedi or sith are concerned, then im sold. for the record, i can afford to buy both. its just that one game has done a lot better job at convincing me to play their game more than any other upcoming game. i do have a history with both makers as i have played both guildwars and kotor. i must say that i absolutely enjoyed the kotor story, and if anything, is the only reason i would buy swtor, is to experience the story. but to me, story doesn't hold much replay value. pvp does as i come from a fps type background and i am not a big fan of singleplayer or servely lacking multiplayer depth games. if either i or my friends can convience each other to try them, then that could help. but that's a tough sell to a bunch fps type who are only curious about pvp in mmos. i would seriously doubt any of them has even heard of guildwars2 yet or even any diablo game.
IF I had to choose, I'd probably go with D3. But most people with an interest in both of the games will probably buy them both. They do have alot in common, one of which is the B2P-model, which will soften the impact from Blizzards regular "evil" release-plans.

As a player that fully plans on buying and experiencing both I can say this:
Guild Wars 2 will be a more fleshed out experience, where Diablo 3 will be designed for any amount of play time from 1 minute to 1 Day, sky is the limit. Guild Wars 2 on the other hand, is designed for longevity. It's a game you can ALSO play for 1 minute to 1 Day, however the field of game play is designed so that you can constantly go through the game and experience something new or revisit favorite set pieces with a brand new twist. Guild Wars 2 has more features, it is a longer game, it has more replayability and will undoubtedly have a better value for investing your time.
The point? I promise you they will both be mad fun and I plan on spending whatever amount of time in the games that they will allow.
Diablo 3 will never go beyond what Diablo 2 had in replayable maps with a different layout. You will never go into a dungeon, fail with your party and respawn to notice that the monsters in that dungeon are now attempting to destroy the town you are spawning in. So there is a very, VERY obvious sight of a game ending there.
Guild Wars 2 is simply an investment for future fun, while having a blast.
I can't say it any better than that.

I plan to get Skyrim (Action RPG), Diablo 3 (Co-op RPG) and Guild Wars 2 (MMORPG), because they all provide something different, also I'd just have to worry about the box prices and the amount of free time I would have to play those games. I don't see how the release of a Co-op RPG will affect affect the sales of an MMORPG, since both games are aimed at 2 seperate demographics and offer completely different experiences. It's like saying Modern Warfare 3 will affect my buying Mass Effect 3, since they are both shooters.
Even if I was playing my wet dream MMO I would still buy Diablo 3, I have many fond memories of Diablo and will be a good campain game to play at the very least. Sadly nowadays there are way too many rare single player games nowadays... at least for those that appeal to me.

I don't see how one affects the other.

This, but I should say I wasn't planning on playing guild wars 2 anyways.

Ill be buying both.
Will the price of apples affect my enjoyment of beef.
Sorry thought this was the unrelated objects thread.
No. I might wait a month before buying one of the games (most likely Diablo 3) if they release the same time, but I will buy both.

I'd buy Guild Wars 2 first, then wait for the reviews and see how many of my friends actually buy D3.

Seeing how Blizzard and Activition are shifting World of Warcraft into a Sad excuse of its past
I will most likely not buy any Blizzard's product untill They can prove to me that Player's entertainement over Absolute Greed can be Shown again.
I will most likely Stick to GuildWars 2 wether or not D3 releases
After seeing what Blizzard did to WoW, I doub't I will even touch D3...
Guild Wars 2 is probably going to be my main game for a loooong time!
I like this post^^ and concur 100%.
Last I checked, both are B2P games so why would one affect the other?
The fact that I am going to buy FIFA12 this year isn't going to affect my decision to buy the next Mass Effect either.

Informing people about your thoughts and impressions is not a review, it's a blog.
I would not even consider D3 once GW2 is out.
That tells you alot.
