Players running around completing objectives, not really knowing why they were completing objectives.
Full Voice won't change it. Players will click through voice like they click through text.
Speak for yourself. I know many gamers that enjoy cut scenes and voiceovers because it brings you that much more into the world in which you are playing. Text and voiceovers are not the same thing. Voiceovers bring that text to life and since we ARE supposed to be playing a roleplaying game and not just a boring grind, I think that's a good thing.Sinlge player games figured this out a long time ago and it's nice that MMORPGs are finally catching up.
Geez, this is almost like being back in the 1920s and having to explain to traditionalists why a silent movie is inferior to movies with sound.
You have a point that I have really never though of until just now. I think the reason for lack of VOs in MMOs is because of the sheer size of the world and the ammount of work that is put into it. In the comic con press conference, the Bioware rep said they have 100,000 lines of text just for voice overs. Thats insane! No console game has that many lines. MMOs are a vast world, while console games are typically straight forward until you "beat the game."
The hardcore rush to max level crowd may well click through (or space-bar through) the conversations, but I doubt that they're the true target demographic of the game.
I've said this before but, the revolution SW:TOR offers the industry is making "the journey" important again. If they can do that (better yet, if they can do it 8 times over) it will change the genre.
If the OP is asking if I'd rather pretty SPG-style graphics over a more immersive storyline experience, then it's a no-brainer for me. I want a game where I'm not told constantly that the fun starts at max level. I hope there will be fun at max level, don't get me wrong, but I want to have fun "getting there" too. None of this "thou shalt get run through dungeons by a max level character until thine eyes bleed in order to ding as quickly as possible" nonsense.
I want a game that sucks me in, makes me not notice time passing and piques my curiosity about what happens next. BioWare have always (well...maybe not so much with DA2) delivered on that front for me, I've always looked to SPGs for my "story" fix. If they can mesh SPG quality storylines with MMO persistence then they'll have me, hook, line and sinker.
From what I've seen, the graphics are not truly terribad anyhow.
if i had to choose between the 2, voiced. Not only does it enhance my immersion, my enjoyment of that feature isnt dependent on having the newest videocard/motherboard/processor or whatever. It's a feature everyone can enjoy, not just the people who have the most disposable income to spend on their computer.
I would rather want any company to spend the majority of their budget on fun gameplay.
Neither graphics nor voice overs have a significant value for me, as I enjoy even games like Minecraft and skip over most voice overs anyway (at least the second time I hear them). E.g. I had/have much more fun playing Minecraft than Witcher2.
Unfortunately it seems like companies spent all their money on those irrelevant features.

i havent played gw2 yet so i dont know how good the gameplay is. could u tell me how good it is cus i think i might buy it? u have obviously played it, right? a statement like that can only b made by personal experience.
I find their visual style nice. Many games have failed when trying to create absolute photo-realism. Simply for the fact that it is not possible with current technology.

This was a good choice by BioWare IMO.
Well I would say it is possible, but the resources it would take is tremendous. AoC did a good job with the "Photo Realism" in my opinion. It just wasn't good enough at launch to make a difference. I haven't gotten a chance to play it (since it is free now) but I think a lot has changed.
It's not that they don't have the technology, they just want to make the graphics as good as they can with as low specifications as possible.

Voice for sure, nice addition when I'm doing the same quest for the umpteenth time.
Now adays graphics are overatted.
art, animation, sound/music, gameplay, content. (in that order)
