    I don't get this rant.

Either you know you want to play the game and buy it (now or later makes no difference) or you aren't sure and wait.

All the marketing crap is expected but it comes down to consumer choice. Buy it now, buy it later or choose not to buy it.

For me it simply was an early Christmas present to myself where I get some doohickies in a box a few months from now.

If you feel the fool it is only because you fooled yourself.

    You stay sassy!

dont get me wrong i hope its a good game, i want to check it out if it is. but i learned my lesson long ago with pre orders, there is going to be alot of sad people out there after this game comes out.

Hell i should make a MMO, all i need to do is put out a few screen shots, make a bunch of promises on how the game will be then spend a bunch of money to hype it up and open up the pre orders. doesnt matter if the game is good or not.

EXACTLY but they never learn !   ^

    10 Stars for this post

You give this lame post 10 stars ?   Your Both Drunk.

So he is going to make his Own MMO ?? Right ?  B.S.  point One

point two .. he would then need to put out Playable demo's as Starwars has that BLOWS AWAY Everyone who has played it ... NOT GONNA HAPPEN in his method

Point Three ..  He would then need to make Trailers with actual game footage showing BLOW US AWAY game play and creativity .. Not gonna happen

Point Three ...  spend a few million on voice actors (his cousins and brothers do not count)  and demonstrate how the voice acting and path changing choices happen  ... OH wait he will not have those either as it takes real programers to make stuff like that happen ...

Point Four .. people will see thru your charade in  the first 10 seconds and you will not sell a single copy to anyone but your momma .

    sigh ... People.

Are you really that retarded? Do you actually think he was serious ?

Your another one of them peeps ruining the future of mmo's no brains!

SWTOR's headstart pre-order sale is meaningless to me.  I've been burned too many times to buy early.  I hope the game is good but I will wait to hear from the Fans and Critcs after it is out before I buy it.

"Pre-order" is a word like "Pre-purchase". It really doesn't even make semantic sense. How can you order something before you order it?

Im tired of hearing all the pissing and moaning about the damn pre order stuff. I pre ordered the game the day it was available. I have fully intended on playing this game ever since it was announced. If this game turns out to be a steaming pile of shit, then oh well. That was $150 I didnt spend looking at jugs in strip clubs on bourbon street.

Don't worry about it, chalk it up to an experience you wont forget.  I ordered the DD because I only digitally download, but would have never considered the CE because the statue is garbage and the music volumes will be free on the net, really.

Even if SW:TOR turns out to be as many suspect, WoW with lightsabers, just know that you can make up that extra cash you paid by selling the statue e to some other collector on Ebay along with being frugal with movies and eating out for the next month.

We've all seen many "buyers remorse" folks on this site after many escapades like this, and just know that you are a bigger person than most that wouldn't even admit to ordering a life-time sub to that garbage that is STO or other mmorpg.

You have matured more than you think.

So, the OP had no clue what he was buying and bought it anyway and therefore it's EA's fault? Go take a long look in the mirror man, the only one to blame for any mistake you might have made will be looking back at you. Take responsibility for your own actions, EA didn't twist your arm. You didn't mention canceling your preorder, are you blaming EA for that too?

Worse you seem to be lumping everybody in the same boat with you as if we'll all have buyers remorse right along with you. Sorry but I don't regret my purchase at all. I preordered the standard edition becaue I knew what I wanted and knew what I was getting. If I had the money I would have bought the CE instead, but for me 150 would be a lot of money and the extras you get in the CE just wasn't worth it for me.

Either way I've been intending to play this game from the moment it was announced. If it turns out the game isn't any good you won't see me coming here complaining about it. But I'm betting I'll enjoy this game just fine since it's exactly what I wanted, that being a Kotor game in MMO format. That's all I've ever wanted out of it.

If you don't feel like a fool, you sound like one.  I bought the digital version the moment they accepted my order.  I've been interested in the game since it was announced and from what has been released it sounds like a game I will enjoy.  Now I don't have to worry about the stores in this backwater place not ordering it.

Such drama and look at me I need attention posts over something simple and meaningless like minor purchase of a video game.

    Amusing.

It's a few bucks for a video game , many spend more than the cost of the CE on a dinner out. with the family , and often.

Seems bit silly to me to languish and act like it's such a big deal for something so minor.

Personally , I bought a few copies of the CE , for myself and kid and extra for who knows , and don't regret it in the least nor sit around dwelling on it.

Pre-order is just a maneuver to ease production costs, is very simple and everyone eager to test an unfinished game is the one who pays the hazing, I did before with many games, but since Mortal Online cheated on me and stole my money ( Paying the full game to get into the Betatest, never downloaded the game because of their nefast distribution, ask for my money back and never got an answer etc. ) never make the mistake of prepaying for nothing. period.

Game industry is making us to pay for their mistakes, they make their own rules.......if you like or if you dont, they dont care, they only think in quick-cash the fast as possible.

P.D.Sorry my english, Im sure you understand everything what I say and mean ;)

I pre-ordered before I knew anything about any deadlines so I don't appreciate the OP trying to lump anyone else into his bracket of paranoia. If he seriously regrets the choice, sell it, don't complain about a good deal.

The statue alone by Gentle Giant is worth 100.00 on average and the rest of the CE price includes music cd's and other physical extras in the box. A person is basically getting the game itself at half-price when it comes down to it after figuring in the cost of the extra items involved.

No one conned you into anything except your own damn self.

    pretty much "this".

I'm not sure what's worse, players who buy early and then beat themselves up over it and then try to get a bandwagon going to diss the product they just bought or players who have no idea what they bought but buy it anyways and then diss the product after launch and get a bandwagon going.

I'm not into the whole victim mentality.

Control your own fate people. Buy games because you want to buy them.

If you are not clear about your reasons and are the type of person who beats themselves up over these things then "don't buy".

Personally I don't care about EA's marketing hype or them posting they had the best yadda, yadda yadda.

I bought because I was going to buy anyways and I'd get in a bit early. Money well spent on the deluxe edition. I don't ever buy CE's because nothign in them ever interests me.

OP: see if you can return your purchase/get your money refunded and you will be golden.

Yep,  preying on people's emotions & expectations.

I wonder what the fall out will be if the game does not live up to those lofty goals.  I expect it will be the same as it always is when pre-orders don't live up to the hype,  gamers are so use to it by now.

well, if gamers are so used to it and they know they are going to throw a fit then they shouldn't buy until they are better informed.

Being a person who works for my money (and I'd love to assume many of you all do as well)  I know the value of the money I bring in. I spend and save based upon what I want, need and know about how much I've worked for this money.

People need to start taking control of their own financial lives and stop wasting their money if they know they are the types of people who hinge their very moods on what a game will bring.

I have no sympathy for people who believe they have wasted their money and then do the same over and over and over again.

then cancel... I bought it before I heard about all the hooplah.  No regrets.  I've got months to put away money for this thing and you do get a lot for your cash if you really look at what your getting.  It was and is your choice..

The lesson the OP will learn will burn even more once launch day arrives. It sure is nothing but hype as we all know the game is going to be lackluster at best. The same old nonsense basic non existant controlled combat. A rail shooter for space time waster and nothing new but storyline added, As we learned in Dragon Age, that gets boring and even tiring, I got sick of paying attention to the twists and turns, and just wanted to have fun, Nope, gotta wait for more cutscenes and story. <YAWN>

Maybe this title will seperate gamers from interactive media fans once and for all... Something that is very needed to happen.

Anyhow, there was lots of clues this was nothing but hype.. Let's see if you saw them like I did.

    1. There was limited DIGITAL DOWNLOAD copies available.. (LOL)

    2. There are supposedly limited slots available for launch.

    3. You have to register your PRE-ORDER, if you DO, you can NOT get a refund... The first to register are first served. LOL. Quite frankly if you care, this is totally an illegaly policy (as most of all publisher terms and agreements are) that would never hold up in any consumer court. So just fight it if you really care to get your money back. Companies don't have a legal right to abuse consumer protection laws just to protect their new business launch. They use guilt on any fool who wont fight for his rights.

    4. (not sure about this one, but got this from the OP) Special items in CE not yet revealed... SUCKER

    5. You'll get early access. Anyone knows there would be early access in an MMO where there is going to be massive downtimes, server issues, technical problems, and the end, there will be early access... You're again paying to fix their problems.

It is probably your desire to digest something fresh and new that no one else has before you that you are trying to use to make your peers envious more than you actualy want to play this game. This feeling will last all of about 2 hours and means nothing. :D

I don't really understand the big deal. Was it all a trick or a gimmick? Perhaps it was, but complaining about it after the fact seems a little bit silly to me. Bioware is out to make money, all companies are. Don't feel like you've been taken because you fell for their marketing ploy. In the end you thought your purchase was worth your hard earned cash, it's kind of late to cry foul.

I snagged the CE becuase I felt it was worth it to me, early access to the game was a minor factor. Honestly a big reason I bought it was to throw my support behind the game and the devs. They have worked very hard for a long time to bring us this game. I don't think devs or gaming companies often get the due respect they deserve from gamers. I bet it feels like being in a room of crying first graders most of the time, but I'm glad they continue to do their thing to give us even more content in this hobby we all enjoy.

    Plus...that statue is friggin cool!
