They won't learn anything from it.  Their arrogance makes sure of that.  They'll just get their fanbots and their staff to chase a handfull of posters around to different forums thinking those people are the reason this ships sinking.

I was actually suprised that GMTheia and others were simply here to try and cover up what a certain poster was showing.

Theia needs to go spread MO love at http://www.massively.com and http://sandboxer.org as well. Slapnuts disseminates his hate on many different forums.

I mean I couldn't believe they were going through this much effort over a single poster lol that was actually sharing vids, screenshots and information.

I mean sure I could understand if he had this hold over everyone and was just spewing lies and such but no one could make up the kind of debacles SV goes through.

The following around of people who talk plain truth about MO by SV staff is simply put, pathetic.

It shows their business model has further devolved to having their employees chase down naysayers of the game in the hopes they can change the horrible publicity they themselves garner just by making the game and ripping people off.

No amount of propoganda is going to erase what is clearly true, that SV is an inept organization that specializes in unethical behavior and bad programming.

@Slapshot:   I think there was a recent change in Discord's account, seperating all older posts from his current ID.  That would explain why his name is in black and why he is not showing up as a Moderator/Admin on that post.  Anyway here is the current link to his profile.   http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/members/discord.html

@raff01:  I have no idea if you were being serious, but Hunrick Nystrom is apparently a very common name in Sweden. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/dir/Henrik/Nystrom  So, no, it's not that Henrick Nystrom.

@ Hercules: I would understand your point if Theia posted on the forums specifically to discredit someone.  If you feel that is what Theia is trying to do, feel free to provide examples.

So far it seems to me that Theia is explaining/presenting things from his POV, which is not that different from what Dallas Dickerson (SW:ToR) or Matt Mocarski (Wildstar) did by offering MMORPG.com interviews. If you feel it is "pathetic" for Theia to offer his POV, but the same does not apply to you, please explain.

if you have no idea then I recommend to get yourself a new sarcasm detector, because this one was pretty obvious.

Aww I go through the trouble of showing the thread that shows Theia is here because of a popular MO poster here and that he/she is making accounts on other forums specifically because of said poster and you ignore my post and ask Hercules for examples :(

    I feel so ignored lol.

But sure, following a single poster around and trying to discredit them is the same thing as what Dickerson and Mocarski did ......... not exactly my take on the whole situation but you're intitled to your own POV. Personally I'd call it stalking.

Yup it was pretty much horrible.

I think the NGF when it was run by the players was ran better.

All I need to illustrate is that SV is the ONLY company that sends their GMs into forums to start talking up their game, and is even faster when they find out people are badmouthing it. GM Theia goes and runs to make accounts on forums where MO is being shit on (for good reason), and then tries to defend it to the community there -- just like he does here. It's not about discrediting, it's about propoganda, and it's pathetic.

So basically you can give no examples and are just mad that an official from the game won't be shouted down by you and the rest of the haters. Noted.

You gave the example yourself -- an "official" from the game is chasing after naysayers whenever he hears that they might be badmouthing the game. What other example do you want? It's not about him discrediting anybody, it's about how pathetic it is that any "official" from ANY company would chase down people in order to shout down the haters.

Even Dark and Light didn't send "officials" into forums other than their own to combat the things said about that POS game. But that all just tells us that SV is stepping a bar below even they did.

    Here you go son:

    http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/361/view/forums/thread/334106/page/3

Post #23 , Theia "answers" questions posed by Talonsin by referring to anecdotes, non existent footage and sometimes with complete and utter lies.

    Better one right here:

    http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/361/view/forums/thread/334106/page/2

Post #19 , in response to darthturtle1's sensible MO questions. Tis propaganda at one of its finest.

His replies here truly made me question the fact if english is even his second or third language, leave alone being his first language. I mean second grade students can answer such questions in a more sensible manner, or write them down with better formatting and punctuations without beating around the bush.

All of these  examples are from only one of the threads that he has posted in. Cba to post you more links to threads that you yourself can go have a look at. Strangely so, you already have seen Theia's strawman arguments and even posted in them multiple times and yet you ask for examples?

Is his choice of "signature" green font colour somehow interacting with the rosy tint of your glasses, somehow turning all of his BS invisible to a fanboy's eyes?

I'd like to point your attention back to:

    http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/4605072

At the start of the Event I came and posted the link to the livestream.  Was I prescient? I simply knew that every single time SV over-hypes something it has fallen short of the mark.  Every... single... time.   So I happilly provided the link from the official forums so anyone interested could go and see for themselves.

If SV is worried about bad publicity.. there was a simple thing to do.  Instead of following people around the forums trying to spread propaganda... they simply had to deliver a fun event.  If they had done so, my link would have provided them with free... and positive publicity from anyone who followed the link to the much hyped GM event.

By this time... we all know what they saw.

This is supposed to be a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER game.  This event had maybe 60 people in it, and had the whole GM staff and some of the Developers involved in it behind the scenes.   What happened in this event is a microcosm of what is wrong with the game.  Over hype and under delivery due to either mismanagement or a skillset deficit.

Get off the forums... get off of twitter... get off of IRC... and deliver a good product.  That is worth thousands of "spin" posts on forums and might actually produce results like a growing playerbase. It really IS that simple.

If you've never heard of us, give us a look-- If you've only heard the negative stuff consider giving us a re-look. We're small but we have a really dedicated, passionate community, very hardworking support staff, and more generally a really interesting, beautiful and engaging world with realism, complexity and grit.

Right, since threads are being deleted left and right.... Okay, stay on topic.... hummmm

Okay OP. Glad you enjoy your game and all that. However, I think most will agree the event didn't go excatly as planned as seems to be the pattern when these events are held. The problem is not people not taking a look at the game, I think the problem is they take a look and don't like what they see. My ORIGINAL statement stands: Make a good game and most players, regardless of negative posts on a gaming forum, will buy and play. Make a bad game and people will not touch it no matter how much PR or spin you give it....

A man is his own easiest dupe, for what he wishes to be true he generally believes to be true...

The event did not run as originally intended.  With an in-flight change to the rules that as I have said unfolded into a series of problems around 'judging' the winner.

That said whilst heavily stressed during the event  - the team are un-bowed and determined to see a big improvment in the next event.  Of course, I hope Part II is far more smooth and far less contentious too.

There was new content in the event - which made some of the issues all the more galling.  However, some painful lessons have been fully taken on-baord and I hope the community will still look forward to the next event in the Epic Weapon Campaign.

    Thanks

    Theia

Keep posting honestly and sincerely like this and you will win back some players.  I commend your change of attitude and think you are finally getting it.  Nice work.  I wish you luck with the next event.

Thanks Talosin - it was a painful and sobering experience.  the worst of it being the corruption allegations.  By design we've tried to write out some of the issues from the sword of tears.  Guess we'll see how it works out.
