Hands down Asheron's call. It broke my virginity to MMO's late in 99. And I really think a game like this in today's market would do well. Came out same era as EQ, and at that time alot of people were in one of these two games.
And just to see if it would have done any better. Asheron's Call 2. I have never played a more broken game at launch then this one. Would be interesting to see if it would have went anywhere had it not completely fallen on it's face before it even got out of the gate.
I'd like to see a "Zombies Ate my Neighbors", cuz it was zombie-cool before anyone else was.
Tenchu 1 done more Uncharted could probably complete me.
I'd like to see Anarchy Online get a big time remake/make over. The game that started many of the tropes associated with "wow clone" could probably figure out another way to set the bar easily enough.
I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

This is still a fantastic game! But let's be honest here.. there are just too many things wrong with the dated engine and it's really holding the game back (among other things = $$$). For them to start fresh.. oh, god.. *drools*
- Star Wars Galaxies.
Everything has already been stated. But I honestly never got a chance to truly play it. Though from what I did I really enjoyed.
Other games..
- Battlefield 1942.
This game has had it's glory, I know; but I want to relive it again. Could you imagine if they remade it on their current engine? .. yeah, yeah, there's 1943.. but let's not kid ourselves - that mini-game just doesn't compare. But the only way I would be for this is if they truly put their hearts into it and made it a real remake. If it's going to be like Battlefield 3 (still a great game, no doubt!) where it's watered down/aimed at a different audience.. don't bother.
That's really all I can think of. I'd like to see other games like Banjo-Kazooie remade so the newer kids can fully enjoy it, but personally, I can just as easy go back and play the original without any problems.
Even though FF9 was my favorite FF game, I think I'd prefer to see a remake of Final Fantasy 7. I can still play 9 and be pleasantly surprised with its graphics and smoothness of gameplay.
Totally Games' X-Wing series of titles. Space combat games have pretty much been nonexistent for a decade now.
I'm not talking about Rogue Squadron franchise. I'm talking Star Wars space flight along the lines of X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, as well as their expansions.
Those and Freespace 2 were the height of such games.

Anarchy Online, never played a MMO with the same kind of skill system. I loved it, had classes yes, but you could put your points anywhere you wanted and no two characters were exactly the same. Also twinking in that game was amazing.
Phantasy star 1-4, shining forces series, xenogears (a full version as the second cd waas horrible with hwo you got lead around without any controll and several mechs not in game.), Legend of dragoon, Armored core 2 too as well.honestly with hw mmos are gong most of the older ones would not do well now all would look better, yet lack in ways now adays. THough making mmos in a setting or style like armored core, phantasy star (less like psu or pso and more of a free form system wand sandbox.), shining forces, and most of all Xenogears would be rather interesting. Also i want to see FF 7 setting and systems from it in a mmos format, along with legend of dragoon.
Daggerfall - Just ... so big. So impressive. If I could have a world like that with Skyrim's graphics, I would just lose it.
Ocarina of Time - If I could have this game with improved graphics and a few tweaks to things like world size and maybe a few new Easter eggs, I'd love this.
The Longest Journey - This game was so amazing, but I never liked "Adventure" game style engines, with the point and click nonsense. If I could have this game with improved graphics and a first-person mode instead of one-angle view third person, it would be just, amazing.
its just a shame its nothing like that when you play it
Eve with a font I could actually read or the ability to change the font/size.

The Legend of Dragoon for me.

I played pool of radiance quite a bit. I would love to see the game remade by Bethesda.
(Or even a Skyrim type game made in the forgotten realms setting)
Everquest 1 is what i wanna see remade it was great before PoK imo.

For an MMO, it would be Ultima Online.
For a single player game, it would be Ultima VII.
I think both would benefit greatly if they were brought into a more modern three dimensional world.
I don't think remakes are often very good..
I'd like to see a "Zombies Ate my Neighbors", cuz it was zombie-cool before anyone else was.

Ultima Online.
Everquest.
Vanguard.

F*CK YEAH! Best game ever made!
MMO's
- World War II Online.

Nothing.

Also a new Chrono Trigger would be super badass.
" Starflight "
MAGA
What game would I want to have remade?

Single player games: FFVII and Wizard and Warriors.
MMOs: EQ, DAoC and Shadowbane would be top of my list.
I'd actually like to see SEGA tackle Golden Axe in this new era.
MMO-ish, but I think more or less a crawl with barbarians and dwarves with Death Adder waiting at the end? Hell yeah, I'd play it.
I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
Its not an MMo, but FFVIII. Always loved that game, bought it for 10 bucks on psn but would pay 60 if it was remade.
How about Pong 3D
eve with joystick/joypad control
better minning
and game play like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=HrrVDV_NsNo with this sort of excitement
its just a shame its nothing like that when you play it

An updated XCOM would rule as well... Or even a MMO based on XCOM.

Monster Mutant Football League from Sega! that game was awesome.
Wouldn't mind a new FF tactics either, or a FF7 remake.
Dark age of camelot hands down too!

WTF? No subscription fee?
