Asheron's Call, plain and simple old school sandbox MMO with more content, far more than say WoW, you will be playing the game for years before you even reach what could be considered endgame. The world is so big and character design so detailed, with some enriching background story and lore.
It needed some current day sound FX, music, graphics, some voice acting or active storytelling, in game model animations updated, stable and more new age tech (it performed worse as new gen computers came out), better launcher/portal for entering the game.
The game was the best MMO i ever played 95% or more people that have played it in its prime would say the same i bet, it just was built on old tech that didn't age well, QoL and anti-griefing improvements, ui improvements, though the gameplay is still great til this day. Plus Turbine shifted focus onto LOTRO instead of AC, they attempted an AC2 but it failed because they didn't stick to what made the original great.
Oh as far as another old favorite, an RTS Earth 2150.
Of course I could go an say every other N64 game but I will not go there, and end here.
Details can always change it's the idea that counts.
Ragnarok Online. Seriously, that game was so amazing, I have no clue why they didn't go for the same style with upgraded graphics and really take advantage of the better internet speeds we have today. I'm sure taking advantage of what there is around to use today, it would be amazing and might even bring back the job of leveling that people seem to forget in gaming today, being so dedicated to 'end game'.

I'll have to go with the D&D related ones mostly; Baldur's Gate series, Icewind Dale and of course a new real Neverwinter would be nice.
What about Severance: Blade of Darkness or Medieval 2: Total War? And lets list a few more... Swat 4 and original Alien Swarm, not the steam crap.
We?re all dead, just say it.
starflight 1&2
AD&D GOLD BOX (all of them) (would like to see a forgotten realms MMORPG or a Krynn MMORPG)
Baldur's Gate / Icewind Dale series
Istaria / Horizons
Everquest 1&2 (EQ:next is in the works hope it is the fix it needs to be)
Masters of Orion
Masters of Magic
