The cut scenes and voice actors are a nice touch but for the most part you’ll want to just skip over them even if you never scene them before.
Really? SCENE them? I've seen 10 year olds with better writing skills than this pretentious twit. He isn't qualified to review a Pong clone let alone a big budget MMO.
lol upset much?
He's got a point I don't think I've ever seen so many words misspelled in a published article.
Creepy= Creapy, You're = your, Star Wars = Starwars,Seen = scene, they're = there, etc.. Definitely can't chalk these up as typos.
Add that up with the fact there wasn't an ounce of objectivity in this review, yeah...

lol gotta love sand box fan boys... They hate so hard on themepark mmo's, but they can not even point out 1 sandbox game that was released in the last 4 years that was any good. or anywere near good.
Well DF may not be considered "great" by the majority of the MMO playing crowd but I think some would call it great and quite a few would at least agree it is okay... And ofcourse there is EvE. Not my cup of tea but has a large and dedicated following and I challenge anyone to call it "not any good" or "near good".
Ofcourse my fellow sandbox brethren would say that is the point. Developers haven't had the **** to be creative and create a great sandbox game instead on following the same old formula...
To me this is a logical fallacy, how would a sandbox be new or creative? That design is even older than Themepark design...
I did not mean that sandbox in itself is creative but to take the genre in a different direction. Look, I think we can agree that the MMO genre is becoming somewhat stale. Most of what is being released or developed seems to use the same old formula that WoW made such a success. I mean, can't we have more choice? And I include the lack of inovation on the latest offerings from the sandbox indie crowd. Why is the sandbox genre stuck in sanbox has to = "FFA full loot combat fest" at the expense of all the other elements that make a great sandbox MMO: meaningful crafting, city building, employee controled economies, choice to play your character how you want (fighter, crafter, diplomat, explorer, etc)?
Arghhh, I am just bad at expressing myself, I wish I could be a bit more eloquent as other posters here...
the market is stale, but not becouse of lack of developers willing to take a chance. we have weeded out these games with our wallets. I hear people complaining about how crappy there old game is and want something new and then complain the whole time why there new game isnt more like there old game.

On that note I can agree, and just for clarity I prefer sandboxes by far. I'm holding out hope that something good will come from that sub-genre again in the MMO world. I also agree most attempts focus far to much on FFA PVP thinking they can simply reproduce what was great about UO, by simply offering that. While at the same time they forget everything that set the title apart.

While he has valid points for someone who likes sandbox games, the marks are so low it takes away all credibility. I can understand themeparks not being his thing but a 2/10, seriously. Well, 2/10 as a sandbox MMO is probably not all that bad for a genuine themepark. It probably would fare even worse on "tabletop-games.com". :P
They seem a bit biased against sandbox games but ultimately they ended up giving SWTOR another horrible review. Check it out here. http://sandboxer.org/?p=261
I know it's bad, but 2 out of 10 bad is REALLY friggen bad for an MMO.
Been playing games for 20 years ; The game for what it is is absolutely fantastic. Please note when i say "For what it is" not some utopian view I may have.....
For anyone giving it 2/10 it isn't a comparison of what the game really is and sadly not worth the ink , Zero credibiolity comes to mind.
To the OP: do you think the game is 2/10... ? Thats what I really want to know !!!!!

Not to mention that "reviews" containing significant factual errors hold little credibility on their own.

Now I have to create an ihatestarwars.org site and give tor a 9/10 just to bring balance back to the interwebs.

You don't think the reviewers obvious interest in sandbox gameplay wouldn't skew his review just a bit???
If your point was to troll you may have been better off leaving the link out.
IMO a 2/10 review is as much of a joke review as a 9/10 review. Game is probably a 6.5 or 7 out of 10 with potential to improve. The foundation is more solid than games like Rift but not as solid as WoW was.
QFT
I agree with this. I am not under the impression that the game is perfect. I would rate it around a 6.5 -7 as well.
I am not even sure what game I would give a 2/10?
Poor taste on the reviewer and really just makes his review about as useful as that roll toilet paper I just used to ..... well anyway you get my point!
the game got an instant 2/10 as soon as I saw the terrible character models/movements on youtube. not to mention it looks straight up boring to play I think the only reason this game is proving popular is because there is nothing else worth playing at the moment
+1 alot of ppl will play it b/c there is nothing else to play just like Rift.

Wellllllll obviously that is why everyone has been playing Aion up until Rift released. I mean what Aion had 50 servers and 500k+ people playing..oh wait. Yeah obviously has nothing to do with the quality of the game or the developer making the game.
Stop hopping from one FOTM game to another and do some research. TOR is not my type of game with the sci fi stuff, but it is atleast a 6/10

Not all of use like to jump from one MMo to another. EQ2 was my last MMO which is played for 5 years and now SWTOR. I will still play SWTOR along with GW2 and TSW. A lot of us can easily afford 2 MMOS without any problems.
How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release?
ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6. US, EU, Asian, France, German and Russian. Subs will be so low there is no need for more Snoocky-How many servers? The first 3 months a lot...after that 2 i guess, one for PVE and 1 for PVP...
Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs.

Do that many people actually do that? Play one specific mmo simply because there isn't another one that appeals to them or is this just another attempt at justifying how people could possibly like something that the poster doesn't see the appeal of.....

But good God man, where do you find the time to play more than one MMO? I know I surely can't, at least until I win the lottery or get rid of this needy family of mine
I like to stick with MMO's for a long period of time, but only 3 titles really ever did that for me, EVE, DAOC and WOW, all the rest are usually 6 mo or less.

That wasn't a review. It was an extended rant, poorly written by any old person like you or me. Certainly nothing to be cited as an authority. Also nothing significant enough for TOR fans to get their panties in a bunch about.

I agree wih his rating, but why on earth does he want to review a non-sandbox game?

Why I even bother anymore is beyond me lol
Tell u waht when pc gamer, ign, massively, mmorpg, and g4 give tor a 2 tell me about it.
when sites like sanboxer.org, and titu101. com ro i hatetor.com give u a rating please dont post it
It just shows how biased against tor u are to actually go looking for this stuff.
