The first world record in World of Warcraft (Vanilla/original version) was almost around 5 days for 1-60.
I dont understand this all...ppl should enjoy the content and not do a competition race, but at the end the whole greed which most mmos support about items is not better either.
If you go look at some of the live feeds, there are a lot of people just skipping dialogue...a lot. I know some are ex-beta testers and have seen the story, but seriously, this maybe indicative of your average player...racing to the end game. I wouldn't be surprised to see hundreds of level 50's before the game "officially" launches. Sad.
The best part about this are the replies to the post on the SWTOR forums, multitudes of people doing nothing but insulting the guy. Sounds like a bunch of butthurt nerds angry that someone got to max level so quick, as if doing so harmed their gameplay experience.
I agree. I read many of those posts as incredible bitter and sad.
I was surprised too see the amount of people saying "congrats on no life:)".
And that's being said by some guy on a Star Wars role playing game forum? Really? Even if it was not so - What was that supposed to signal?
Even if he did do it through a pvp exploit or whatever - Who are anyone to s**t on the mans parade?
Probably because big parts of the mmo industry boost the greed for items and competition and more go for that instead of roleplaying or enjoying the content....sad but true, thats one of the things i would like to see changed in one of the "new gen" games. Community instead of individual greed, we have that enough in our real world.

Well they realize that the MMO part is just 2 days lol. Even if they enjoy being part of a predetermined story and make it last long, that can take what.. a few weeks? and then what.

The problem is what is there to explore? People kept saying that this game being so heavily on the rails was a bad idea. Atleast Rift had artifacts or zone puzzles to distract you. You just quest hop until end game. If you skip the dialogue then you are a tard because that is 100% of the appeal of this game.
The 50 in question saw it all in Beta which is his fault. Also not sure if anyone noticed the NPC's talk slow as dirt and I can skip it and read it faster and get the point of the quest. It takes a hell of a lot away from the game knowing the end result is a get x pickup y quest.

I'm not going to begrudge someone their playstyle, but I just don't understand why someone would even want to do that in this game. Most of the content is in the leveling (through the story) so why someone would want to skip it is beyond me. I can't imagine someone who didn't want to partake in the story even buying the game. That's like me going to a stakehouse and only eating the salad, and complaining they didn't send enough food.
Kyleran: "Now there's the real trick, learning to accept and enjoy a game for what
it offers rather than pass on what might be a great playing experience

John Henry Newman: "A man would do nothing if he waited until he could do it so well that no one could find fault."
FreddyNoNose: "A good game needs no defense; a bad game has no defense." "Easily digested content is just as easily forgotten."
LacedOpium: "So the question that begs to be asked is, if you are not interested in
the game mechanics that define the MMORPG genre, then why are you
playing an MMORPG?"
Damn so if you take away the cut scenes, you are left with 2 days of content, they really put that money where it needed to be.
I'm thinking there might have been a little bit of exploiting going on as well.
But in the end, what is the point...or better yet, now what? Oh go run some flashpoints and collect some gear.
Yeah, big fun, no really.
I thought the point of themeparks was to get to max level so you can go raid/pvp or do what ever fun shit its supposed to give you when you are done hitting the cap.
The truth may be puzzling. It may take some work to grapple with. It may be counterintuitive. It may contradict deeply held prejudices. It may not be consonant with what we desperately want to be true. But our preferences do not determine what's true.
You guys forget that because of him you now know that it will be fairly easy to get to max level even if you play it casually.
Nah, ever since post 2004 when MMOs started their downfall of mediocrity and simplicity is when it became clear that getting to the cap took no effort even if casually.

There are some reasons mainly since they could of been open beta testers. They already seen the story most likeky least the ones at lvl 50.

With this I just have to ask why even have levels? Seems silly to even have them if people are not interested in them or getting them, they just want to get to the "end game". Is it a telling sign of whether a game is good or bad if people are rushing to get to the end?

I would disagree with the second poster. 99% of a games content is at endgame. People level fast to get to endgame faster so they can raid faster. Its a responsbility one has to his guild to be prepared as quickly as possible to raid. I know lots of slow levelers or people that hate leveling who level up fast to help their guild progress a bit faster. In regards to missing content its just the opposite the people you see leveling faster will see 100 times more content than the casual. They have likely done it all in beta. They know the leveling route, rare spawns, hidden quests and the route they want to go long before the game ever releases. They play the game much more efficiently, have better knowledge, better specs and play with more of a purpose. These are the people that complete all achievements and see every part of a game.
The second advantage in leveling fast is to simply get away form the masses. Fighting people over quest mobs is never fun. Once one gets away fromt the masses its immesaruably easier and less stressful. Generally when one is lebling up fast the players one runs across are much mroe respectful. They KS and act rude a lot less as most are vetran players and understand most fo the rules of ettiquitte the masses never learned.
Those forums are worse then the wow forums, all those people bitching about what people do during there days, my god. I dont think they understand there even on a gaming forum, they have it in there mind there on some forum that has to do with something entirely different. I hate those forums already, I cant read the terrible nasty things they have to say. Ugh...
ps:
I feel better, I reported some of those nasty replies. I dont think Bioware watches there forums in fear there will be a mass strike for telling people to STFU.
Its truely a shock how more than half of the posters didnt even read that he had done the story line over and over and knew what he wanted to do when EGA dropped and that was to get to 50 asap.
And yet they STILLL just bashing him on oh you missed the story dumbass etc etc ROFL .
The amount of hatered I mean they didnt even read, and just started throwing up nasty shit out of their mouth. God what a horrible community.

have to say nicely done..would have been nice for me to play but bioware could'nt be bothered to send the company i bought the game off the keys..wtg..oh well i,ll just have to pay 20 billion for some iron ore, being the last in game and all that..lol
Congrats to the lvl 50 for bypassing the whole 'aspect' of the game. Bet you they tire and quit of the game very shortly cause they just bypassed the part that is suppose to be drawing them in (story). Now they just get to see the flaws.

See THIS is exactly what im talking about LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!! fail to read jump to them conclusion, such a horrible community.
As blunt as your post is I'd still have to agree ha ha. I don't think it's an entire horrible community but the guy did say he did the story already in beta .

This game.. hell pretty much every star wars game ever made has a terrible terrible community full of trolls

Ah well, he can just roll another class and watch some new cut scenes....
And that is exactly why mmos are a massive pile of shite in general these days.

bit of an irrelevant response thats been used rather too often.

wowza... max level b4 the game officaly launches... put that dude in a record book.
heard the game don't take long if you skip the cut scenes... but thats crazy.
also seeing stories of people getting group kicked for watching cut scenes...... sad pandas for people trying to enjoy the game.
