The OP just tries to find everything to make SWTOR look bad. Cannot understand why and don't care tbh because I love to see haters boiling with negativity
For all of you complaining about not being able to get a group, or tanks or healers, get friends :-p lawls, I have no problem finding a group, just log on with my friends and guild and get on vent, ask who wants to come and done.

It makes no sense that in a game that very nearly plays itself FOR you, they are resistant to adding a feature that would simplify finding a group. This game has almost NO social interaction requirement whatsoever, yet they are using the excuse that it would somehow reduce the already non-existant social aspects of the game. Sounds like a completely made up excuse to me, there has to be another reason.

i agree yet no one has come up with any good explanation as to why it wouldn't benefit the game... i thought games were meant to be fun not a chore... guess I'm wrong

You agree that it has no social interaction requirement whatsoever? Yet another myth perpetuated by people that don't understand the game.
And again...the genre has been dumbed down to the point that it's actually considered a "chore" to meet people, I guess.

I'm not a fanboi. Playing, yes but I'm not a fanboi. Been even banned from this very site for bashing SW:TOR. Actually I wasn't thinking about it any good until last 2-3 months and my first beta weekend. I'm defending the game only because I like it but this doesn't make me a fanboi.
but cause I'm critical but still playing I'm a hater? ok good to know

when would you EVER have to speak with a single real person in the game to hit level 50 in this game? aside from the final fantasy MMOs what MMO out there can you not happily make your way to 50 all by yourself?... how is this a myth? these games are made with tons of solo content.. this one went even further giving you a great class quest that can be done alone.. EVERYONE gets a companion for god sake I mean how much more is it obvious grouping is not even remotely needed to play a ton of the content in this game.
i'm happy there's no group finder. I have ad great groups so far in TOR by making groups through tells and guildmates etc. it really made me feel a lil old school, and i have been using the proccess of building groups as a way to weed out douche bags.
this, plus the cutscenes, to me slows down the game which is a good thing. it kind of diffuses the mentality that all there is to do is speedrush all the way to max level ASAP and then complain that there's no content.

We're aware of this desire, but we actually believe that finding others on the same planet as you encourages social interaction a bit more than a general 'group finder'. We're not saying it'll never, ever happen but again, not high priority right now.
My thought HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
They contridict themselves in this game. Instanced zones and no realm forums are anti social interaction implementations that they chose to make. However, they pull the whole 'social interaction' as a reason to not implement something like this. Even Rift saw the value in the feature and put it out month or so after release.
Not a hater, but just don't like how they made this game, and how they are supporting it.

Why do you take everything personally? I 'm speaking in general. Look how many pure troll and hate threads have been created during last couple of days, this one being one of them because the OP tirelessly expresses his/her opinion how very inferior SWTOR compared to Rift is. Nothing can upset me now anyway because I have a glass of good cognac in my other hand. Just wish you Merry Christmas and everything
lol only take it personal cause pretty much every single thread I post in if I'm critical about a feature in the game I'm labeled a hater and should just go back to wow or rift or whatever... yet never have I said the game blows or I hate it or I don't even play.. I make observations from my long history of MMOs on features I think would help attract more people to a game I hope does well.. yet somehow I'm labeled a hater

The whole reason it was frowned up on and not put in the game is to build a better community. People are willing to sacrifice time to get in a flashpoint to have a better community. Now whether or not it actually fosters a better community is debatable. However is my own experience, I believe it indeed does foster a better community not having the dungeon finder. When a player does not have to worry about the reprecussions of what he does in a group ...he can and wil do w/e the hell he wants. And lets be honest ... there are a LOT of pricks in the MMO world. With no dungeon finder ...sure, they can act like pricks then me and my guild will black list them from any group we ever put up on that server. Do it enough and the only people they will be playing with is in their own guild If anyone will have them. The last isnt debatable, that is what happens with a dungeon finder.
Now mind you, Im not adamantly against one, it obviously has it's benefits. Getting a group non stop all day long is fun at times but I think it comes down to what your willing to sacrifice. If you feel you don't care about community or you feel it doesn't hurt it to the point where it effects you, then obviously dungeon finder is a great additon.
its going to get bad soon as people start getting more spread out.. i was playing my shadow trying to get a group for the first flashpoint me and a friend spammed chat for an hour till we got a full group.. UNBELIEVABLE considering the game just got released, I really don't see how in hell this is better than a dungeon finder...
People get more "spread out" in mmo's without a care because they HAVE the "easy group finder" to begin with. Encourage is the simple yet effective word here. If people want to run so and so, they can go to X location to look for people also looking rather than inviting JOE from halfway across the galaxy.
All this pampering gives you the illusion that without it their would be chaos, because people can't simply "organize things themselves". No, not true at all. Only scrubs aren't able to make it to the space port to find a group in /1
If people have to have their hand held THAT much, than all the people calling WoW clones for every major release, because games always "hold your hand", will be right.
It's like it says on the tin-- a LFD is simply not necessary nor high priority right now. There are bugs to fix, content to roll out, ui concerns, armor customization/modification to enhance, and crafting professions to iron out. It's not wonderful to sit and spam on General chat to find a group. That was one of my complaints during the beta. But I've played the hell out of this game since early access (Republic side) and I've observed that most people on my server aren't having one-hour waits for heroics or flashpoints.
Some of the distress over finding a group is hyperbole and some missions are indeed harder to get groups together for (i.e. Enemies of the Republic on Coruscant). But I've run dozens and dozens of heroics, run through various flashpoints about 15 times, and 90% of the time I've never even had to advertise LFG on Chat. Mostly, someone else is looking for the same thing at the same time and a whisper later it's a done deal.
I find it interesting how people on this site continually pan wow for adding things like the Dungeon/Raid Finder then pan SWTOR for not being in a rush to add one. Interesting but not surprising. And, as for the notion that this game has no social interaction? That's not been my experience at all.
Group queueing systems are completely antithetical to the whole idea of MMO's. I don't have much to say about TOR that could be considered glowing or positive, but I'm glad to hear this isn't a priority. As for the future, it would appear even they are unsure what will come for an LFG or LFD system, but at the very least, I can respect their current decision.

my main issue is in a game where obviously grouping isn't even needed for a huge portion of content hence large class quest + companions why make it even harder for people to find groups for flashpoints.. With a class system that locks you into a single role(unless you go pay and respec) you are making it even more time consuming to find a tank or healer for a flashpoint.. even with a dungeon finder sometimes it would take 30 min to find a tank in rift.. The first flashpoints its not a big deal cause yuo don't even need a tank or healer ot get through but later when they are needed whats worse that spending 30 min+ to get a group together and find the tank blows and keeps getting your tema wiped.. In rift it was simple you punt the tank and que up for a new one.. now you have to sit and spam chat again hoping to get a decent one.. good tanks are hard to come by and with such a restrictive class system they are going to be even more of a pain to find... unless all the high level flashpoints(I haven't done them yet) are a joke and require no skill you are going to need at least a somewhat compentant tank to finish the flashpoint

Instead of helping the tank, lets just boot him! And you wonder why queues took so long to find a tank. because of asshole DPSes that often blamed the tank, yet sucked themselves.

They have no clue how to play a tank because people like you kick em from groups. I can try to be insulting like you and say I bet you are one of the dps that gets impatient and pulls a group and thinks the tank is responsible for your death.

SO Rift's top fanboi and huge SWTOR troll posts that Bioware prefers personal interaction over a LFD tool and laughs at it. Sounds about right.
Also SWTOR troll #2 makes up story about spamming for an hour for a flashpoint with a friend, when that flashpoint only takes 2 people to do.
