    This is poor form, first patch post launch and they are already two hours over with no end in sight. Please don't let this be like EQ patch days which went on and on and then you needed patches for the patches!

    Extended now for another hour. I'm expecting some very apologetic words from Bioware for this - both for patching during a holiday and for doing it during EU daytime when most people are off work due to the bank holiday. What idiot at Bioware thought this would be the perfect time for server maintenance?

    Interesting way that BW/EA are viewing customers as a whole and EU customers specifically.

    6 hour downtime during the day on a public holiday. Forum announcement that still gives no reason for the extended maintenence window and confirming another update will be made at 7PM (UK time - 8 PM EU Time). 3 additional hours at the least of downtime.

    EU customers have lost almost a full public holiday of game time, and I'm sure would be making their views known........except it appears as it the ability to post on the official forums have been locked since about 30 minutes after the intial estimated end of maintenence time.

    I know MMO's have downtime; I've experienced this from EQ (original) onwards, but the timing is poor (public holiday), there is no explanation of what the problem is, we are now looking at 9 hours +, if the latest CSR post is anything to go by and to lock paying customers from posting their dissatisfaction just feels wrong.

    The estimated server downtime is forever.

    We have jobs and one of us starts back full time tomorrow.  Between the queues bugs and server down time it has been frustrating.

    We like the game though and are hoping that they fix these issues but I won't give them much lee-way after a month or two.  Once summer hits GW2 with no subscription and the outside is more fun and I certainly wouldnt think twice about unsubscribing.

    EU maintenance times had better change, employing seperate server admins would cost them less than the profit lost from unsubscribers as a culmination with other issues.

    Well said mate, a whole precious day of my holidays for me wasted here in the UK when i'd planned to play SWtoR. When I played yesterday I didn't notice bugs making it unplayable so it clearly wasn't necessary, just routine. Stupid planning to do this in the middle of the holiday week, ok for US players but a royal pain for those of us in Europe.

    Plus i'd like to smack people in the face who tell me to stop whining etc... idiots who probably have weeks to play until they go back to college most likely.

    Obviously to the people who are freaking out because the maintence was extended and hating on Bioware, you obviously have issues of game addiction and might want to look into that a bit more. Go outside get some fresh air, go do an errand. This is to be expected. It is the first patch.

    Yeah, you're right, you don't understand. {mod edit}

    Actually a pretty accurate statement.

    While I do not get upset with delays -- as I accept that they do happen, and not just in the mmo world -- I can understand why others would be bothered by them.

    They will probably have to give all european players an extra free day, as they lost a whole day, because Bioware patched during the day and not during the night and the morning. Very costly mistake by Bioware i would say.

    Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

  • I'd say the power to prevent TOR players from playing is insignificant compared to the Force.
