If someone ready up on WvWvW and "doesn't see it", then maybe it just isn't for them. I think a good portion of players will absolutely love it, but I also no some won't and many others just won't be interested because it's not the type of MMO content they like to play. Nothing wrong with that at all.

I would say that even people who don't normally care for that sort of thing should probably try it with guildmates, if the opportunity presents itself. Even though Warhammer Online Mass PVP was very simplistic compared to WvWvW, I had a number of people who normally have no interest in PVP in MMOs join in because other guild members were having fun and they were surprised how much they ended up liking it.

So, try it. If you like it, fine, if not, oh well, no one is expecting that it will have universal appeal.

Quick question here: What will ArenaNet do to prevent late night keep capturing while most are asleep? Imagine a server puts up an effort of epic proportions only to have the central keep cap'd by an opposing force while most are offline.

No matter what time it is, and no matter how many total players are currently in WvW, all teams' forces should still be relatively proportional.  Each server will always have approximately 33% representation.

Is this a selling point ?

    I think so, yes.

Offering maximum option at all times and removing barriers to play (which PvE is to the PvP hardcore a lot of the time) is a good thing.

Who cares if someone buys GW2 and chooses to never play PvE? I don't.

    It's their game.

Plus it gives incentive for more PvE type people to help and experience the W v W. Some might not want to participate in PvP because they won'e get xp and loot and they want to advance their characters-now they can get xp and loot in Mists, so should get more people to try it. Plus their is DE's and PvE content in Mists that you can do to help your realm win. (I think I read that.)

Other than the NPC guards at the keeps, I imagine they'll do nothing.  I really don't think they should do anything.

What you have to remember is that servers get ranked at the end of each battle and will face servers of similar strength in terms of their W/L performances, but how their strength comes about could be from a variety of different reasons.  Maybe a server wins with more numbers.  Maybe it wins with superior strategy or better players.  Or maybe it wins because they've got a ton of night owls who can capture and hold objectives while everyone else is asleep.  Who is to judge that isn't a valid strategy?  And if this strategy consistently wins, you're going to face other teams that consistently win, either due to overwhelming daytime force, and/or having their own night shift.

Keep in mind too that having to capture it in the middle of the night meant that you didn't capture it during the day.  Nighttime is only 1/3rd of the playtime, and then you still have to be able to defend it against two servers.  It seems like it might be a way to compensate for underperforming during the day, but not pull away, especially if you quickly lose all these gains once day hits.

And even if you have more numbers at night and can start taking enemy objectives, can you also defend your own stuff against two servers while doing it?  Nighttime might end up being a time of great turnover with no real gains as everyone's forces are spread too thin.

    I agree. Nice analysis. :)
