WoW was pillaging it's players long before teh cash items came about.  In revenue, Blizzard is making the equivalent of a big budget movie every month. And yet the pace of content that Blizzard delivers is no quicker than any other MMO.

The MMO nubs that play(ed) WoW have no idea how much they're being taken for a ride.

Seriously, 10 or 25 dollar purchases? I'm totally waiting for them to start charging 10 bucks for apperance gear in MoP. Stop encouraging them to price gouge people, it's not healthy for gamers and consumers as a whole.

10 bux is one drink. 25 is nothing. Sitting in my office one hour gets me more than 4 shiny mounts :) Why not.

    /off to encouraging Blizzard more

You make more than $100 an hour to sit around the office? What job do you do?

Take your pick, many jobs pay around that if not more. You don't think that lawyers, doctors etc don't play these games? Hell I used to play one game that I knew had the following players who I adventured with frequently. A singer of a famous rock band, a romance novelist who has sold more then 35 million books, doctors, lawyers, actors etc.  You all are amusing the hell out of me.

I'm in the same boat as you Zak, but its the people with no money that play games which creates the poplulation in F2P games the you and I could potential dominate by throwing obscene amounts of cash at.

I actually dispise this business model though, as it takes someone like me who could afford to almost literally play an endless number of P2P games simultaniouisly, to be surrounded by games that require you to spend more than I actuallyl ever would to acquure the highest end items in a resonable amount of time.  Making all these game in my opinion UNPLAYABLE as I refuse to actually spend that kind of money.

I buy nothing from the cash shop based on principle. If they abolished the sub I would consider it but otherwise... no.

EA beat them a long time ago when they started charging $100 for a car in Need for Speed Online.

Nope. Entropia Universe beat EA to that for Planet Calypso : 635,000

entropia is something different ,Jon Jacobs (aka NEVERDIE),did it as a investment he bought a virtual asteroid for $100,000 and made money from taxes(transactions in his club) and sold it  later for $635,000. you realy cant compare entropias landownership with a cashshop.
